7:27-8:12. One of the most wisest things i've ever heard regarding music. the best way to describe how music should "feel" and why alot of artists music sound flat, no emotion to it. But not his music of course, i cant see how you can spill ya soul out through them keys but he gets it done. Big ups...
Billfreaks, you are invited to a beautiful Bill Evans master class on YT! The class includes an in-depth analysis of Bill's classic solo performance "A Time for Love". You will LOVE this, promise:) Type in "Dave Frank" Bill Evans on YT.
music&brain is fine, but i don't know what the dentists of the world would have to object here ...
but of course that's not really an issue. even if there may be a little something in common about front teeth and the black and whites of the keyboard. hittin' and loosin' spaces.
no, but serious. why do jazz musicians not make the money they are supposed to. thinking of stings "wanna be" and lady gaga. all have perfect teeth.
long live the idea of jazz. but if they can't bite, then what...
@ctrlzjones if doctors are paid according to the number of years they've studied their craft, shouldn't jazz musicians be paid for the decades of training it takes to master jazz? shouldn't the older masters be millionaires instead of relying on medicare and social security (if they've even earned enough to qualify for it)?
@ctrlzjones I read his biography and learned bill evans didn't get his teeth fixed till way later on in his career, through a family friend who offered to do it for free. Only then, was he able. Shame for such a genius to have to go through that.
@flipperboy as far as I know Bill Evans and Dave Mustaine have never been photographed together. I know Bill Evans was an early member of Metallica but then they decided to go in a different, non-jazz direction
L'intervista è molto interessante, ma sto cercando un'altra parte dell'intervista, stesso giorno e stesso luogo a Helsinky in cui il trio suona "Emily". Dove posso trovarla?
This was filmed in my hometown of Helsinki almost 20 years before I was born, I love Bill Evans and his approach to the piano, that's some very intelligent words on avant-garde jazz as well (referred to as free nowadays?)
Did he loose theet after his addiction?

@claudiobenassi85 I think his teeth were getting worse due to it, but didn't lose them. Amazing musician nonetheless.

Would he perhaps be on the level of those great classical composers? I think so.
Skinzlivez 4 months ago
@Skinzlivez I quite agree. For a long time he hesitated between a classical "career" and a jazz one...
