what makes the Dead different from other bands is their focus. I feel that with some bands they are not entirely focused during a live performance. Yet, it seems to me that the Dead are in the zone when playing live. I bet that if there was a fire they would continue to play. I wish that there were more bands today that got into the zone when live. Please come back Jerry, we miss you.

6:27 listen to Phil jump the gun too early and Jerry look over at him. Been a head since the mid 80s and when you get the virus in you it's a complex thing you can't explain to "normal" people. Over the years I myself have found myself saying "God they've been playing these songs X amount of years HOW DO THEY STILL FUCK UP ALL THESE CHANGES AND LYRICS!" etc. I used to love when they got the teleprompters and they STILL fucked up lyrics! It's all in the charm of the band, outsiders don't get it.

I know there is no best song. But to me this is the best song. It is special to me because 30 years ago when I discovered LSD it was a very magical time. And this was a magical song for me. The acid was strong and pure. It was the best time of my life. I cannot even begin to describe how good the trips were. I wish it was those times again. The best I heard this song I was blessed for the once in a lifetime chance to have front row exact center. I can still instantly travel back there.

What a glorious couple of minutes of 'Slipknot' ! I LUV that the camera guy focused on Phil, the interplay between he and Jerry and Bobby is what the good ol' GD was about for me. The way Phil's bass intertwined 'in on under and through' Jerry's lead was something no other band could or ever will do... That, with Bobby's choppy Casio chords and Billy and Mickey somehow making rhythmic sense of it all is the magic of the Dead, and something most people will never understand.
