It's cut off the video but in another interview i've read he said that, sadly, his mum died of a heart attack a few months after his dad's death. Incredibly sad story from someone so talented and warm and funny...

She died there at home soon after John woke up. There was nothing he could do. It must have been horrifying and completely distressing.

John wrote "Name" about his mother's death, "And even though the moment passed me by, I still can't turn away" and the aftermath. I think that's her asking , "Did you lose yourself somewhere out there, Did you get to be a star". The last lines, starting with, "I think about you all the time..", are, I think, John speaking directly to his mother.

i first heard of them through Iris, but it's definitely not all they're about... amazing talent so it's hard to pick what is though! ;)

I read that 'Name' was about the younger generations growing up and losing their way; having a harder time than previous generations to establish themselves... as far as i've read Johnny hasn't written any of their best known songs about his parents... but maybe he changed his mind and chose a not-so-sad meaning....?
