Backlund is a legit athlete and from what I hear he was about the strongest man in the roster (even Patera said he was freakishly strong.) I think I told you some stories about him. He seems to be a decent man. Back in the days of Kayfabe they had to put the title on someone who was legit just in case shooters like the Briscoes decided to get cute and go against the planned finish. Backlund was often sent to "greet" shooters entering the WWF. He could "stretch" ya!

There is a scene in Wrestling with Shadows where Bret Hart is discussing the planned finish of what would become known as the Montreal Screwjob. Honky Tonk Man has a shoot here on youtube where he discusses how he had an agreement with McMahon that he was to do no jobs on TV and disagreed with a planned finish involving him and Savage.

That's how Sylvester Stallone first introduced choreography to boxing in movies in the movie "Rocky," with every punch being choreographed; before that it was improved, and it looked incredibly sloppy and slipshod.
Same with pro wrestling; I don't know if Vince was the first to introduce good choreography, but it looked a lot better with it.
