I wanna get a Roland kit and was looking at a td4k, but td3 is cheaper. Does the td3 have the ability to connect an iPod via aux in and listen to music and drums via headphones or amp on aux out?
My drummer hates e-drums...but I record with them almost exclusively because they are so much easier than a traditional setup. No mics or effects chains to worry about. SD 2.0 sounds great...even using a crappy module like the TD-3.
@Rocco4Jesus well you may not have. It's the TD-3 along with the Superior Drummer plug in sounds. I mean that's right isn't it Taurus? Solid performance.
@quickmantan I know Pro Tools a little. Really not sure about Logic. Plug ins should include their own mapping system. Wish I could help more. I also google things and find answers on xln websites.
@quickmantan I'd probably recommend Addictive Drums. I don't like all of the snares it comes with, but there are ways to manipulate the sounds. I got it for 99 bucks at a Guitar Center sale. Retro pack looks great, but I'm cheap. ;-)
@JohnInder ... I got a Roland TD-3 kit a little under a month ago. I'm smashing the hell out of them everynight... in my apartment... at 2 in the morning.
@wendrummer google "music4drums" there's a forum with drumless tracks, but you have to be registered to view it. I am on there and do drumless, infact, I thin my next song will be this one. This video initially got me started on VST haha.
I wouldn't be surprised if he just put in rock band and put it on practice mode. Its a surprisingly good way to get drum tracks. As dumb as it sounds :P
I can answer number 2 and 3. People get these drumless/guitarless/vocaless tracks from the rock band and guitar hero games. some smart people has hacked into them and the results are master tracks for 100s of songs lying around on the internet. the easiest (and only legal) way to do this is to play the tracks you want to drum along to in the practice mode inside the games. that way you get the songs with drums muted and can play along with your own kit =). Long time version is from rock band 1:)
Thats an awesome video man. Pretty cool that you can get the bell sound on the ride, is that due to Superior Drummer or the Roland kit because I can never get that with my Yamaha DTXpress kit and EZdrummer, lol Upgrading to Superior next week though =D
u can get the bell sound with ezdrummer too...just need to assign that zone of ur ride to trigger the bell sound if you have a dual zone or tri-zone cymbal
Since the release of guitar hero and rock band video games, there have been many of the bands music used for the games original isolated tracks floating around the internet.
Hey man, this is the best sounding e-drum-video on Youtube! I know SD2.0 but never saw a video with such a great balance between the e-drums and play-along track. Really great and not-over-the-top playing! Great job!!
I just have to say, thank you lord, another great video, with a drummer who knows what he is doing... lol - God, there are so many out there that waste my time watching
I enjoyed your version here and I must say it was solid performance :) I've played for 25 years and I'm guessing you have too, by your performance here, so thanks for a great video !
I wish I had an electronic kit in my basement... someday I will and I'll record a video and post it !
Hey I thought VPT is real look, real feel, and real sounds. Well you have 2 out of 3 right. RET Percussion is the real VPT drum system. Oh by the way great drumming!
Did you have any problems with tuning the kick-drum. My feeling is that the sound is too low when playing through MIDI via my EMU 0404 USB. This is no problem when using the built-in sounds in my TD-6 module. However, when I increase the sound on the kick-drum in SD2 it has a tendency to sound distorted. I want this fat-sounding kick.
I wanna get a Roland kit and was looking at a td4k, but td3 is cheaper. Does the td3 have the ability to connect an iPod via aux in and listen to music and drums via headphones or amp on aux out?

hey man!
Can u show the vh-11 expressions with TD-3? Roland says no to the compatility but many users say yes, can u show witch ons is right?
Thx!

superior plug in sounds, what is that??
does anyone know how to hook up the TD-3 to logic studio via midi, so that I can use the drum kit sounds from logic instead of the TD-3 module??
and how do i make logic studio reconize a bass drum is the bss drum, snare to be snare ect ect?

"1. Do you record the drum track in Logic then sync with the video?"
this would be very helpful to alot of us newbies:)

it wouldn't be hard to "hack" these - just take the audio out from your tv or games console directly into your computer/recording device?

DirkDeeVids 2 years ago
i can answer 2 and 3 for ya,
the drumless tracks are from rockband, rockband contains all the instrument tracks seperately (so when you fuck up it makes your instrument stfu),
which also explains the 'big-time ending" (big rock ending on rockband)
