However, the anthem is sung in Greek (Greece is the birthplace of the Olympic Games) and was written by Kostis Palamas.

The anthem is sung in Greek since 2000's Olympics in Sydney I think.

The Olympic Anthem is GREEK 100%. It was writen in 1889 by Costis Palamas and a little later the composer Spyros Samaras composed the music.
