I'm guessing that the filtering of power supplies and computer equipment was better in 1988 than it is today because I don't hear any sparking or buzzing in the recording.
the FRG7 was pretty basic but i have fond memories. this was my 2nd one! it would be fantastic to be able to take a modern day radio back in the past. with DSP and 100,s memory,s etc. but we managed in those days and enjoyed it. by the way .. you can still hear these airways broadcast today if you tune around.
glad your up n running again on here. the FRG7 .. well i sold mine (should have offered it to U as the filter was excellent) .. but ive given it some thought .. lots .. but i will keep it as a good memory. im searching for a replacement.u know the FT857D rx is pretty good .. plus its got 200memories.
I still have a "Frog" in my office that I listen to while working at my desk. I DOES drift a little on SSB, but for using a "damp piece of string" as an antenna, its FB.!

I have two of these receivers and I would not part with them.The audio out of these is just superb!

The old FRG-7 is still a winner. No, not a perfect Rx, but I wouldn't part with my old 'frog 7'. Why not get another one! :>)

yes that FET-BFO was drifty .. but i liked the radio.very nice audio

I just looked uo there today and noticed I lost a leg off my dipole! Radio still working good as I was listening to the Firebirds net.
