Not a bad recipe for a video.

  • Nice..!

  • HELL YEAH!

  • nice !!

  • que capo el pibe

  • Robert Johnson ボトルネック!! サンシンでやってみたい~。Thank you !!

  • i wanna hear more just like this style is AWSOME

  • could you tell me what is the type name of this guitar ?

  • nice guitar!

but dirty sound, sounds like crap, blues crap... how it should be

    awesome cover!

  • Deep feelings there, man. Thanks for posting --

  • Did you sold you soul to the devil too?

  • Only one word available in the English language to be able to describe your playing man, and that word is just flat out- Amazing!!!

  • Good playing, but bad timing.

    Sorry but true.

    No offence meant

  • Open G?

  • I will for sure you're the man! I am Brazilian with my musical roots well defined and our hillbilly music what would be the folk blues for y'all is very similar in its historical aspects, so I really like the blues!! our Roberth jhonson called Tião Carreiro and live music !!!!!! parabnes you have a passion plays very well indeed has its interpretation sorry for any mistake in translation! a hug

  • just saw this dude do an original fingerstyle take on a Clapton tune. Maybe you should try something like that. The guitar has class.

  • ugly guitar gay choice of song go fuuck urself

  • @harry007nguyen

You fail hard in the presence of an epic win. Gratz

  • Tri-cones rule for acoustic slide. I owned and played a single-cone metal-body Dobro for years, and I thought it sounded good until I played a National tri-cone one day. I immediately bought the tri-cone and sold the Dobro. That was fourteen years ago, and I still love it. Of course, the National cost two and a half times as much as the Dobro, so it should sound astoundingly better, (it does).

  • nice job.

  • Thank you for not singing. I've seen many vids where some beautiful playing is ruined by a mediocre blues voice. Beautiful stuff, man!

  • @briluster1979 You must have heard me sing while I'm playing this song. :-)

  • My favourite Robert Johnson song. So good. You, sir, are a player.

  • nice job man. tough stuff

  • That was sweet bro, but I just busted the high E string on my strat trying to play some of those runs.

  • @porkchop6021 Never tune your acoustic to Open A or Open E. I've busted many strings too till I learned that....

  • @MrFranciscoFidalgo Use Open G instead of Open A and use Open D instead of Open E. Same intervals but two semitones down so you can just play the same thing but two frets higher (a slide from the 5th fret to the 9th would be 7th fret to 11th fret instead, for example). Much lower risk of strings breaking (since you are actually down-tuning rather than up-tuning) and pretty much zero risk of the neck bowing due to added tension.

  • @Vanguard448 Thats exactly what I do =)

  • @MrFranciscoFidalgo I figured that you probably would; I posted that to see if I could help other potential slide guitarists. :)

  • @Vanguard448 Are G and D the two best open tunings?

  • @lewars1912 Best? No. That's all personal opinion. Easiest to tune to from standard? Certainly.

  • @Vanguard448 Thanks.

  • @MrFranciscoFidalgo well maybz you should use a different gauge.....

  • Can anyone identify this guitar-- its not a National, so it would probably be a Johnson Tricone?

  • this reminds me of king of the hill

  • Spoke well.

    Great job.

  • Super clean.

  • Sick guitar. the sound gives me a big pink boner.

  • This guitar has a secret no one nows about. ITS ALIVE!!!

  • It sounds like Open G tuning (D-G-D-G-D-B low to high, a.k.a. Hawaiian tuning or Spanish tuning), it can be played on a normal acoustic guitar as long as the action is high enough. Someone posted the tuning for an Open E (E-B-E-G#-B-E low to high) somewhere in the comments, but this is not Open E. Ry Cooder, Joe Bonamassa & Derek Trucks are good examples of guys that use Open E tuning. SRV used a hybrid Open E when playing slide, you can hear a huge difference because they're different keys.

  • how is your guitar tuned?

  • really enjoyed it

  • nice video, great lookin' guitar as well ; )

  • keep it up!

  • that was brilliant

  • awesome, brother.

  • Lovely playing and a beautiful guitar - is that brassy colour the actual finish or is it just the light reflecting off it?

  • what's the tuning??

  • @blacklightrocker Open G i think (DGDGBD)

  • wow, great work. just start singin' :)

  • tu joue bien !

  • Misterboog with the boogmakers on my Space

    myspace/theboogmakers

    rock on !

  • good job man!

  • I really enjoy your tone in this one. 5*s

  • Nice Treatment

  • so good

  • man THANKS! i loved it! do some more!

  • Nice work, sir

  • The guitar behind him, the semi-hollowbody, is absolutely gorgeous. Can anyone tell exactly what it is? I think it's gotta be a 335 or 355 model, I think an Epi (335) but the finish looks damn good so it may be a Gibson...or maybe even a Sheraton?

  • epiphone sheraton you can tell by the flower thing on the headstock

  • Nice....very soothing

  • is that plugged in or is that the standard sound because i love that sound

  • Comment removed

  • sweet

  • what type guitar? tank you :)

  • It's a Tricone, the bridge of the guitar sits on three alumium 'loudspeakers', two on the bass side, one on the treble. That's what gives it such a rich, complex, beautiful tone. Most are made of metal, usually steel or brass, very cool guitars in every sense - you don't want to play one with your shirt off!

  • Joli toucher et belle approche ! Tu devrais nous rejoindre sur le Forum Slide et Résonateurs

  • I thought I was listening to Robert Johnson himself.Beautiful!

  • Very nice. NIce style, nice rig. Well done.

  • yeah man!!!! :D

  • Well Done!

  • Like the smooth, almost Hawaiian take on this. Very nice!

  • Did Robert Johnson use steel strings? Im guessing he did, but id like to know for sure.

And what kind of guitar? Anything in particular or was it just a run of the mill acoustic?

  • he used a gibson L-1, it's a parlour sized acoustic. they've reissued it as the robert johnson model. as for the strings, i'm not sure but i'd like to know as well...

  • of course they are steel. probably 13's. and in spite of the pictures, when you have to play without electricity, you might want a steel, or aluminum bodied guitar with a big speaker cone so people can hear you, unless you're actually in a parlour.

  • Nice one!

  • Mister boog tu es fantastique. C'est une très elle version.

Est ce que tu chantes aussi?

  • good job

  • omg super can i have a tab ... i love blues ^^

  • You got it, keep pulling it out and don't stop!

  • wow that was awesome nice job

btw is it possible to play something like that with a slide just on a regular acoustic guitar?

  • You would just have to play in an open tuning.

  • Why can't i play it on regular acoustic?

  • You can play it on regular acoustic, just use a slide and tune your guitar into an open tuning.

  • Ignore the comment from the fool who would have you tune your guitar in such a way that it might well cause your guitar some damage! The fella in the video has his guitar tuned to a Gmajor chord which is D,G,D,G,B,D. I use this one a lot and is a good one for slide. Have fun!

  • Great advice. This guy isn't a show off either , he is just simply laying this tune down in great form

  • nice

  • somewhere the Skydog is smiling.

    Excellent brother.

  • fucking nice guitar, man... must weigh a ton...

i got a slide, but i just can't figure out how you do that!

    godd job

  • Damn good slide playing.

  • YO niccccceeeeeee resonatorrrrrrr

  • is that not walking blues?

  • Negative. Come on in my kitchen was Robert Johnson's version of Sitting On Top Of The World. I believe it was either writen by or made famous by the legendary Mississippi Sheiks. (which that name was inspired by "The Sheik Of Araby," a popular book which was made into a movie at the time.)

  • "Sittin'" is an inking of "The Chatmon Bros.".

  • Ahhh - I like this - esp. the lower notes.

  • cool!! nice thing!

  • Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn son!

  • Are you know "Last Fair" is my favorite Robert´s song
