  • mmmm... the sweet smell of burnt clutch in the morning

  • beautiful car though

  • jesus crhist man, once you let the cluth out it was fine but no no no...poor clutch in the mean time. just drop it!

  • @206StreetRacing Obviously you've never launched an AWD car, especially if the poster says its 'heavily modified'. You have to slip the clutch or you'll blow your T-Case.

  • not bad sounding, EL headers are growing on me haha

  • People who are saying "pop clutch" and you will get a better launch. That may work in your FWD Honda, but in a AWD if you pop the clutch without any slip the car will bog. Obviously he has to learn to control the throttle, allowing that much slip will just burn the clutch.

  • @12389h Exactly!

  • poor clutch... its better to burn tires, not clutch!

  • sounds like your burnin the clutch.

  • slow and gay

  • YOU GO GIRL! toast that clutch!

  • Ya gotta let that clutch out faster man, sick car though

  • The driver needs a lot MORE practice :-S

  • rice....I'm eating it right now for dinner it taste GRRRRRREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you gou dude burn that clutch

  • your burned more clutch than you burned rubber

  • lift your foot off of the clutch...you will get a better launch and also save yourself from replacing it

  • Dear mom,

For my birthday I would like a How to Pop a Clutch for Dummies book.

    Thanks,

    Son driving the STI

  • If he puts stickers on it that will make it faster.

  • 2 step and drop the clutch.... if you plan to do this at a racetrack.... you lose

  • Burnigg shit... jejeje

  • well it does say practice launch he never claimed it to be a perfect launch.....idiots who think they popped out of their moms vagina as race car drivers.....

  • baddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • i feel like you let the clutch out too slow. barely.

  • i feel sorry for that clutch. what did it do to you? besides get you rolling. SMH

  • poor clutch

  • Whats that smell? Oh yea, burnt clutch.

  • @chripspoe "Slap it on before going out for a curry, and a fight"

  • @chripspoe ahahah fucking right

  • clutch burning...

  • not like that lol.

  • slipped hard dang

  • ahhhh nice I didnt no usually I see ppl on youtube with 1000 hp cars dump thr fuck out of their cars so idk they might just have doing it wrong -_______- lol

  • @edymonster60 i doubt the people with 1000hp cars would mod the engine that much and not modify the drive train at all, if they are willing to mod their cars to 1000hp theres more money invested too in other places of the car, handling drivetrain etc so they would be find to dump the clutch

  • @clutch23q i seen supras do it like nothing

  • Good job not letting the clutch out too fast! nice job

  • get off the clutch -_____-

  • @edymonster60 You must not know cars very well, when you have a heavily modded engine (around 500+whp), you cannot dump the clutch on stock drive train, or you'll start breaking things, and drive train = way more expensive than a racing clutch...

  • @alabaska182 what ? ur making no sense

  • @HksTopAndRock Basically what this guy did in the video is a proper way of launching when you have a lot of horsepower.. If you do a full clutch dump with that amount of power, you'll break your drive train.

  • why are you launching a awd car?

  • @BDubed it makes more sense to launch an awd car than a fwd or rwd, cuz u cant "launch" a fwd car. itll just sit there and spin tires, all fwd cars are riced pieces of shit in myopinion.

  • jeszcze z 6razy i sie dowie ile kosztuja tarcze sprzegła do subaru

  • co za cieć, ładnie po sprzegle pojechał :D

  • Need new clutch

  • bye bye clutch

  • Why do you practice launch on a awd? People amaze me it's like you have graduated from college and practicing your ABC's...-_-

  • there was no control on your launch and you need a new clutch.

  • You from the South Dakota area?

  • hmmmm... sound as if you dont know how to fuckin drive dude.

  • all wheel drive practice launch? hahahah

  • :') Such a beatiful car.

  • I've seen better

  • bye bye clutch

  • @donniezielstorf12 better the clutch then the gears

  • gay and slow- fake

  • @jdub86yc Yup, all three

  • @Unofficial91 no launch control cause my friends wrx came with it and my other friends sti came stock too with it

  • @Unofficial91 add "on a dyno!!!!!111!11!!!" to these!

  • @jdub86yc did you just discribe your self just now?

  • @gunker224 my moms prius can do this

  • @jdub86yc yeah u i know i feel pity for ye

  • @jdub86yc how can this be fake? is the car actually not there?

  • nice clutch smoke

  • gay and slow.

  • left the clutch at the start!

  • ssssslllllllllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppppp...... chirp, let off.

  • looks nice

  • poor clutch

  • Sounds and looks like they were riding the clutch!

  • dont take it past 2 gs, if you must launch it.... or something is gonna fk up eventually, like ur synchros or transfer case

  • 1.6 enigne?

  • why eliminate the boxer rumble?

  • show me the carfax.

  • Can you express EXACT FEELINGS when you realised you own this Black Beast)

  • What does dump the clutch mean??????

  • @DUCKIE775 It means they blew a load on your mom's fugly face.

  • @zapatos123123 ....zapatos123123?<------ wtf is that some little trick your parents showed you to remember how to tie your shoes you incompetent bastard.! fuck off!

  • @DUCKIE775 I sodomized your pet goat last summer.

  • @DUCKIE775 Check Urban Dictionary... But it's directly related to writing a check to your nearest mechanic

  • @DUCKIE775 Oh wow... You sound like so many people at my high school... i swear im like the only person that actually knows how to drive stick there hahaha

  • @planbskater565 yea dick i asked what it meant not how cool you are in highschool....

  • @DUCKIE775 im saying youre a dumbass for not already knowing what it means

  • @planbskater565 yea I'm automatically suppose to know what it means.. were you born with this knowledge?

  • @DUCKIE775 I guess I'll be the bigger man here... Very quickly releasing the clutch.

  • Sexy car <3

  • You "diesel guys" are just hating cos you wish you could afford a badass car like an STi...haters

  • if you were two stepping it would have been fine..

  • wayyyyy too much clutch. keep practicing lol

  • poor clutch is right!! you stayd on it too longg.. gunna burn that clucth up quick bud.

  • poor clutch </3

  • wtf?

  • You dont need to practice launches in an STI, they are AWD

  • when are you subi guys gunna get dual disk clutches and start doing boosted launches like us diesel guys do? you guys would have stupied launches if u could get 10-12lbs b4 you left the line

  • @takemefishing we get 10-12 lbs at launch anyway. no need for a dual disk clutch. with proper engine management and boost control it is very simple. i know u diesel guys just put a programmer on and floor it, but our cars are much more technical.

  • @takemefishing not all us diesel guys have electronic injection pumps mine gets turned up with hand tools and i guess you guys dont make near the tourqe we do hell alot of guys hit 1000ftlbs with just tuning im not bashing at all i was just unaware that u guys could spool with out a load on the motor

  • @takemefishing plus u gotta member some diesel guys are leaving the line with 25 lbs of boost while doing the 3 pedel shuffle

  • @takemefishing haha competition clutches stage 4 single disc is good for holding 450wtq awd launches. no twin disc needed at this guys power level. he just needs to not ride the clutch so long and to get a tuning softwhere that allows him to 2 step so he can build more boost while the engine isnt under load. that subaru is leaving on more than 10-12psi in this video with no antilag lol

  • @takemefishing thanks, we can. Its called launch control.

  • @takemefishing

Anti lag is there for that. But at first gear, boost hits so fast that I really don't see the need of boosting before even taking off the line... Unless 1 sec or less means a lot.

  • @takemefishing if you have a very modified sti your just asking for trouble doing that. the all wheel drive and tires are way to sticky to do that. the diesel guys usually only launch in rear wheel drive and those drivetrains are meant to tow like 25000 pounds. an sti drivetrain isnt especially with all 4 tires gripping and throwing you forward

  • @quadkid4 actually the diesel guys who have 4wd rigs almost ALLWAYS launch in 4wheel drive hi come to think of it of all my buddys who runn there 4wd cummins down the 1/4mile i know 1 who runs in 2wd but he has a 10inch lift and 38's... the majority of 11 sec trucks or faster run 4wd with drag radials all the way around leaving with 25 lbs of boost or more..any fast 2wd is linked and on huge slicks

  • @takemefishing when diesels pull they launch in 4wd.... now when theyre on a race track, i highly doubt it... some cummins exceed 130mph past the finish..... youre not suppose to do like over 40 in 4wd...

  • @SLIVKAjusPSdonU Most diesels launch at the strip in 4wd and stay in 4wd until the finish, otherwise the power would not go to the ground very well, torque does horrible things to tires you know.

  • @SLIVKAjusPSdonU unless you have a button or dial controled transfer case you wont get it out plus its pointless cause the tcase WILL NOT DISENGAGE untill you completly lift as long as u shift in 2wd before u turn of the track your fine

  • @alabaska182 if your breaking STi axels or a tranny you've put a lot of money and a lot of power down. Another tranny is a pocket change. STi parts take a lot to break.

  • GAY

  • Could have let the clutch out slightly earlier... Wouldn't want to dump it though, the shock is what kills stuff... I once owned an ae86, ask me how I know

  • ride that clutch a little less and you got it. keep in mind he didnt have 2-step...

  • lol at the tards in these comments. ZOMG YOU RODE THE CLUTCH. This is why you dont own an AWD performance vehicle. and if you do, you wont for long

  • Too much clutch? in my opinion... almost seemed like the launch was stalled a split sec by not letting the clutch out quick enough...

  • nice launch.. i drove one of these sti's a few days a go. Those cars pull like crazy when they are stock.. anyway man.. gorgeous car by the way.. I definetly want a subby one day

  • Oh clutch man :)

  • Very good launch, mate!

  • dude was totally riding the clutch man. wtf... weksos...

  • im diggin the black on black

  • good launch id give it 8/10 rode it a tiny bit too long at the beginning. but very good none the less. dont let anyone tell you dump it( when i say dump it i mean just slide your foot off the side of the peddle lol) its far far too hard of shock to the drivetrain thats how you break shit. 5500-6000rpm and let it out fast and start flooring it as you let it out fast. and no im not a youtube racer lol i used to own a 330awhp talon tsi awd.

  • LOL Wut a weenie

  • That was a great launch, my grandma is good at launching her VW Fox like that, too.

  • @DarkPira7e ure grandma is cool!

  • ohh yeahhhh burn the clutch

  • what rims are those?

  • Seems like a good launch to me. I'd probably do the same since I don't exactly have extra cash to burn on new gears... I'd gladly replace a clutch before transmission gears.

  • @SummerConspiracy agreed, however a scoobies clutch is designed to wear on the flywheel before gears go. I'm not talking about dropping it completely, but coming out fast is much better than riding it out.

  • yea thats a pretty good launch. launch awd isn't as easy as people think. probably couldve let the clutch out a little sooner, but if ur launching awd correctly ur gonna have to slip it

  • I smell burnt clutch.

  • youtube where everyones a pro!

  • i usually just launch from rolling start silmilar to this

  • Was that 2nd gear.

  • @jwcarreira good joke right? why would he launch in 2nd!?!?

  • @thginKxelA Pretty sure he was implying that it was such a bad launch that it sounded like he did it in second gear.

  • Definately too much clutch. Let it slip for a second then lock that bitch.

  • umm im pretty sure that smoke at around 3 seconds is the clutch getting burnt.. that much smoke from the clutch isnt a good thing... but awesome car man looks so cool/sounds mint

  • @tomlad11 Would you rather burn a clutch a little bit on a launch, or wreck the gears in your tranny or even snap an axle on the car?

  • @tomlad11 What smoke? I've burnt my clutch before, it smells way more before any smoke comes!!

  • @sonny0986 well maybe if this wasnt a video you might be able to smell it ;)

  • gay too much cash good car crap gay driver

  • That launch was horrible you kidding me. He over slipped that clutch.

  • good launch i normaly dont slip mine that long but that worked pretty well for you the nose of the car went up and stayed up thats what you want!!

  • wow, I see why you are practicing, YOU SUCK @ Launching!!!

  • what kind of clutch you running? this car set up for daily driving or is it the "fun car"

  • clutch burner

  • you should get launch control patched in. allows for flat foot shifting at 6000rpm. maybe ill make a vid to show ya.

    check my channel @ mgate01

  • way, way too much burning of the clutch there...i get its AWD and you have to be careful but c'mon, there's no point of slipping the clutch from such high rpm...if u want to take the route of being less agrressive then just bring the revs up to about 2500-3000 and just roll of the clutch quickly but progressively

  • @willneverstop He's slipping it a little too much but he's practicing. Launching anything under 4000 rpm is pointless, might as well not launch the car at all.

  • @FilmWars I have a 1.77 short time on stock clutch with a stage II legacy GT with launching at 3500-4000 rpm.

  • That was a really nice launch, Not much wheel spin at all. Cudos

  • Why slip the clutch? Because racecar.

  • nice launch.. theres some idiots on here have any of you ever even drove a awd car?

  • Ride that clutch a little more i cant smell it yet. you own A RACE CAR. get on it.

  • I smell the clutch...

  • Lololol

    Nice soob tho

  • People, You can't just dump the clutch with an AWD. If you do you can actually ruin the engine because it bogs and its hard on the tranny too. This guy is ding it correctly.

  • Clutch told me to tell you, ouch. Sexy subby, I'm jealous.

  • that was a terrible launch he just started to roll, and his clutch is done

  • Still have this? Really nice looking STi. LOL and just as I was about to post this an identical black STi rolled by my house downshifting. I want one of these cars so bad. :(

  • save those launches because u only have so many in her :P unless u beefed up the tranny then... launch away!

  • all you did was ride the clutch....no need to hold 5,000 rpm and drop the clutch (that'll last you all of 10 minutes). Hold the car on the handbrake and biting point, then release your handbrake and full throttle, making sure you come off the clutch straight away.

  • Which diff setting were you on? I find it is 10x easier with the diff set all the way to the rear on my 05 when doing drag pulls. Auto is a lot less responsive.

  • @kuhlka I had it on auto, now have launch control and is much easier to do, and much more consistent.

  • @chevys247 Yeah, auto seems to slip the hell out of the clutch at times. I ended up replacing my stock clutch disc and flywheel at around 55-60,000 miles with a bit stronger ACT or Exedy heavy duty street clutch. Can't remember which.

  • just like my wrx , you gotta find that perfect balance of letting clutch out not to bog the turbo or like this video ride the clutch . just takes practice , sick ass sti you got there man

  • Get that clutch out quicker, I can smell it from here.

  • Hey man... Thanks chevy... I hot them done its all black... I would love to send pics..... I just got them black to..... Looks mean.....

  • Hey man... Im getting my rims painted i have an 04.... Java black with gold sparkle did u mach paint ur rims.... Or just black paint

  • @WRXSFORLIFE They are just black, matching would be sweet though.

  • Thats a pretty good launch.

Your supposed to let the clutch slip a bit, just dropping it will destroy the transmission and diff.

  • @SubyReeves Finally someone who understands haha... People always say to just sidestep the clutch when launching... Not with AWD and 450whp haha

  • @Unofficial91 Ya! Don't do that. I burned through my clutch in like 1 month doing that. I am not a car person and did not know how much stress that puts on the poor car :(. My launches still sucked to boot!

  • @Unofficial91 Yeah that's an awesome AWD launch. There is an evil twin to this video with about 15 redline clutch dumps.. Makes me sad..

  • @SubyReeves I'm the owner of the car, thanks for the comment, and you too Aaron. That's exactly what I was going to say. I think it was a good launch because it squealed all 4 tires and left marks but I think I could have slipped it a little less. But that's what practice is for, harder to launch with a twin disc clutch too...

  • @SubyReeves Yes if you dump the clutch over and over "something will break" more likely an axel. The STI transmission can easily handle hard launches at much higher power levels than this. The key is to pre-load the drivetrain so it dosnt have that play in there that allows things to break easier.

  • @SubyReeves its a subaru not a fiesta its built for abuse
