@MrWhitman My mistake, I remembered a line about the sharp hooves or so, but now I think of it, it stays with the line and you don't actually get to fight it. Must have been a bit too long since I played QfG :(

@MrWhitman I think you have to hit on the centaur's daughter, if I remember correctly. Also, is there someplace I can find the VGA version of this for a modern computer?

@MissHuggyface HItting on the daughter never gets you killed. As far as a modern computer version... there are some at Amazon.com but it's expensive at $64.85 for a used copy. I'd recommend just getting DOSbox and playing it on that.

Here's some death messages that I found using SCI Resource Viewer:

"Greedy, greedy... You searched for silver, but all you found was iron. Iron arrowheads, that is."

"The lesser of two evils. Yes, it was possible that this drunkard would somehow regain his senses, leap to his feet, realize that you didn't belong there, and do you in. On the other hand, you might have done a little better worrying about the wide-awake brigands closing in on you with their spears."

And here's one obscure death that I came across.

Repeatedly jump the log at the ambush: "So much for your endorsements... Congratulations! You've just won a gold medal in the log jump. Posthumously."

@CDrayan UPDATE: I found out how to get the first of these messages. It's at the ambush.

Head to the log that you can jump. Before jumping it, reduce your character speed all the way down, then fight the brigands. After defeating them, immediately go to the icon bar and to the inventory. Quickly throw a dagger or rock to interrupt the hero from going to the fortress. Then look just above the log for a lone arrow. Click the hand on it, and there you go! You searched for silver, but only got iron.

One of the funniest ways to die is by casting the CALM spell during battle.

"Now the monster is CALMLY shredding and eating you to death."

This adventure has triple the deaths of most others since you play one of three characters. That's a LOT of pitfalls, let me tell you!

If you get past the archers to the screen with the minotaur and head back, there's a different message for getting shot titled: "Next Stop: Pincushion City" and the description mentions an archery tournament. I don't think you included that one.

In the original it's hinted that the Brigands kept it locked up in a cage that would only be opened by the tripwire.
