You can bypass the ebrake safety circuit in a more professional method with the use of a standard 5 pin automotive relay- come see my video on how to do this by visiting my channel.
Awesome video, and thanks for the help. You should check out seller radonich1 on eBay or my videos for parking brake bypasses that work with all newer Pioneer, JVC, Sony, Clarion, and Eclipse radios.
If you're capable of wiring a toggle switch to bypass your ebrake safety circuit, you should be MORE than capable enough to wire a bosch 5 pin relay to provide ground to the ebrake safety circuit using the antenna lead of the radio. 4 simple connection to the relay (2grounds, antenna trigger, brake bypass wire). This is a more professional way of AUTOMATICALLY getting around the ebrake safety circuit. If you need any help with the wiring, let me know and i'll explain how to wire it up.
couldnt you split off the remote lead on your deck so it would just work like that all the time. most toggle switches are for one wire the ground is usually just for the light that's on the toggle switch to tell you whether or not it's engaged. and connecting it to the remote on you deck would make sure theres not a constant power source running through the parking brake wire on you headunit. I may be wrong sir but just wonderin............
@visiblystealthy In decks where viewing media is an option (ie. DVD/NAV Units) a "parking brake" wire is present and "requires" you to splice into your parking brake ground. The toggle switch just tricks the head unit into thinking the opperator has engaged the parking brake and the vehicle is not in motion. The remote wire has no "say" (so to speak lol) in the signal the deck sees from the parking brake.
please post what all you have (brand and model number) if you feel like it. Im ordering a sundown audio sae 1200D and 2 re audio se 12's. im also getting a power inverter to run my ps2 slim .I have the slim, just need the inverter....GLAD TOMMOROW IS PAYDAY MAN!
im 16 i recently put a screen in my car ... and i didnt have to ground nothing i just touched the 2 dvd wires together and it works all the time no switch
I got the head deck for $100 plays dvds, has 2 video monitor outs, sub out, rear cam out. I plan on installing back seat DVD monitors. I don't plan on watching the movie myself. Just the people in the back can watch.
@kjstafford Are you going to get pre fabbed after market head rest monitors or going to install the lcds yourself? im intersted in pre-fabbed headrest 8 inch LCD's for my jeep.
@kjstafford hey man im not hating or trying to tell you how to spend your money....but......you should think about saving a little extra coin and getting something.....a little better. In any case whatever you decide i think the toggle switch should work for most in-dash DVD/NAV units. Thanks for your comment man.

All you need is a diode connected to the switched accessory connection.
At that point it will work no matter what.
