@nathanpeck68 wrong. gravity causes the water to come out on the side. as the water comes out, the pressure from outside of the bottle equalizes the pressure from inside the bottle. when the cap is sealed, gravity continues to push the water out, until the pressure from the inside is LESS than the pressure outside. this causes the pressure from the outside to overwhelm the pressure inside the bottle and the gravity on the hole. the simple answer is outside pressure > gravitational force on water
