I rember Susan from the old days on the Vineyard and how humble she was. She used to let a good friend of mine get up and play between sets. What a class act from Mass.
please insert the word "well" between the words "very" and "rival" in my previous post..thank you..and that's "Mr." cisco940...to you, thank you very much..and a big shout out to "mr. brent saunders of KBCO fm / out of Boulder , Co.!!!!
If I were her manager....I would hook her up with the boys from "Big Head Todd" / somehow I think that they would mesh well...in my opinion, her collaboration with them could very rival..the track off of "beautiful world".."boom boom" / featuring one of my idols ..the Honorable John Lee Hooker ......yowzah!
I finally put a face to the music I have admired for some time now...this chick has the "fire in her belly" that Van Morrison spoke of on his "Healing Game" masterpiece...and she "really" rips it...I'm looking forward seeing her perform live @ some point in the future....
wow, she is incredible. I was wondering if there were any good blues singers left anymore... i love blues... and all my friends would think i'm nuts and old-school or something if i told them... everyone seems to have moved on to rap and hip hop and all that stuff, but for me... nothing beats rock and blues.
Just Won't Burn was my fav. that S. T. did . . Had some younger friends who pushed Amy Winehouse tonight and (RIP) I decided to listen to her for the first time. Good English blues, Won't go to Rehab was quite good, but still quite aways from the voice and instrumental talent that S.T. has. I live in the Bay Area and work with a guy from Sopwith Camel who has opened for Big Brother and Janis J. He'd really like to see Susan Tedeski. She's the best in a long time.
Susan is not as good a singer as Bonnie Raitt. Bonnie can do more kinds of music, which is a strength. Bonnie is underrated as a musician but she is not as good a guitarist as Susan.
Saw Susan at the Riverfront Blues Festival in Arkansas. She was the 2nd band up...Jonny Lang was supposed to close like 9 bands later, but was sick. Delbert McClinton closed, as I recall.
Anyway, she came out and in a tiny voice said "Hi, I'm Susan and we're gonna sing for you now"
She then blew the crowd away with this tune. I met her and got an autograph on the Just Won't Burn CD I bought on the spot.
susan was my first concert it was live blues on the mall its a free show in michigan she was promoting just wont burn it was an awesome moment for me to see this little woman with such a powerful voice it was definitely the turning point for me cuz i didnt have alot of appreciation for blues untl i saw it in the flesh thanks for doing a free show and kickin so much ass............and yes very underappreciated voice!!!
Susan has been married to Derek since 2001 & they have 2 kids. I took my son to see her for his very first concert. We went backstage (she toured with a blues musician friend of mine) & she was just the sweetest person to my son. She spent a lot of time talking to him after her show and I was so impressed. He was so smitten with her (age 11) that he instantly took up playing he bass & now totally jams out of this world like no other kid I've ever seen his age. She made a huge impression on him.
Listen up! I saw Susan play at the Hampton Beach Casino in 2004 and she kicked serious ass. She came out dressed in a sky blue dress that made you think she was your 4th grade teacher. The show rolled from one great song to another. She played her own solos and she rocked. My buddy had no idea who she was, but he became a big time Susan Tedeschi fan. This girl can rock!
If you like Susan Tedeschi & Janis Joplin, then check out on YouTube: Grace Potter; Beth Hart “I Don’t Need No Doctor (Live at Paradiso)”; Sass Jordan ("Make You a Believer"); & Coldblood (“Coldblood Fillmore West Closing” uploaded by rasppatrol1) with Lydia Pense on vocals (Janis Joplin discovered her!) .
WHAT WUH KASJDOGIUO!!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A FEMALE BLUES ARTIST THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS SINCE I STARTED LISTENING TO BLUES......THIS IS AMAZING! SUSAN, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE SISTUH!!
Yeah she does have the soulful voice like Janis Joplin. However I strongly disagree that Bonnie Raitt is a better player. Bonnie wouldn't make a pimple on Susan's ass.BR is not that good as a singer or guitar player!
@TheChristfollower93 What a rude comment to make... Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course but to say "Bonnie wouldn't make a pimple on Susan's ass...." is just hateful. If this is how a "Christfollower" behaves- I'm glad I'm an atheist.
i never put comment but see got so much passion power soul in her voice ive got to say somthing (and her guitaring get me ever time)ill see her live one day 4 sure.
If you've ever seen the Concert for George Harrison, Susan sounds a lot like Sam Brown, who sings You Can Bring a Horse to Water. Pretty amazing. Just saw her open for Jeff Beck. My gosh, I was blown away. Especially when she covered I've Got a Feeling, by.. You know who. Magnificent.

You do realize, don't you, that Tedeschi didn't write either one of those songs?
I'm guessing that you don't pay Tom Hambridge for using his material. You could at least credit him properly and NOT call them "Susan Tedeschi songs" at your gigs.
I'm guessing that you don't know that we are a cover band. I don't call them Susan Tedecshi Sings at my gigs, we just sing them. I didn't know he wrote it. I know who sang it and put it on their album. I sing because I enjoy it.
I quote you...."You do realize, don't you, that tedeschi didn't write ....blah blah blah"
Condescending and pompous. Susan Tedeschi and Tom Hambridge could care less if a bar band "credits" them. They are musicians and are likely just glad someone cares enough to cover their work at all. I bet Tom Hambridge is Damn glad people consider it a Tedeschi tune....that means it is successful and he is getting paid. You were the one being a jackass. You got called on it. End of String.
She could easily sing a Janice song. A lot like Mrs Raitt, thats all right too. This is wahts need right now someone with some punch, like a Mrs Benetar! Man I love great chic rockin music!
Holy #$^$# just the thought of SRV and Susan playing together sends my mind spinning. I never saw SRV live, but I hope to see Tedeschi someday before I die.

No reason to get your panties in a bunch.

Ya my band covers this one to. We call it a Susan Tedeschi song. We really don't give a crap what you think.

Really. Why don't you ask Susan Tedeschi whether you should call it "her" song or not?

I quote you...."You do realize, don't you, that tedeschi didn't write ....blah blah blah"
Condescending and pompous. Susan Tedeschi and Tom Hambridge could care less if a bar band "credits" them. They are musicians and are likely just glad someone cares enough to cover their work at all. I bet Tom Hambridge is Damn glad people consider it a Tedeschi tune....that means it is successful and he is getting paid. You were the one being a jackass. You got called on it. End of String.

You are clueless.
Tom Hambridge has a website. Why don't you ask him?

Holy #$^$# just the thought of SRV and Susan playing together sends my mind spinning. I never saw SRV live, but I hope to see Tedeschi someday before I die.

Please Reply. Is this rumor True or False?
Is Susan Pregnant? Have possible names.
Derek has to be rocking this woman right to capture her.
Thanks

Susan Tedeschi most certainly is very, very UNDERappreciated. Her rockin' voice knocks me out every time. She is BLUES.

Her blues knock me out. :-)

Good lyrics. It takes one hell of a woman to sign this song or believe in the lyrics.
