Well youtube really screws the quality of the pics! I have one of these and I'm impressed with the quality of the thing... the only thing that could be better is zoom ...

I purchased the DSC-W300 and for the most part have been very disappointed. The pictures are very grainy in any mode and forget using a aftermarket battery; because they don't work. No way to manually adjust the focal points. What you see, is what you get. I am going to sell it and use the money to buy a good lens for my pro slr.

perhaps you just had a bad camera. You should have taken it in for repair as I have no problems with the one I have now.

My last camera, DSC W5 went into repair a few times, but that is the nature of electronics! :-)

I took it back to Sony dealer who sold me the camera and directly to the Sony repair center and both told me it was operating normally.

hmm strange, my guess is probably you prefer those big professional ones that really go into detail and what not, Just my guess that's all but I just got this camera and everything seems to work great.

Probably your asking a bit much but if not then I hope you find that good camera your seeking with the money you get back if you sold it. Anyways briantravel is right, try to get it repaired or replace it and see if it's the same thing. Anyways good luck with your search
