excuse me but this doesn't capture the essence of the original, i don't doubt her talent but there are disturbing things about this cover:
it's supposed to be a simple but effective arrangement, what's with the string section over the top bullshit?
the rest of the instruments sound like a high school Yamaha keyboard arrangement
why is she singing like she just got raped by a hippo
it's not just a matter of taste i am analyzing this in the most objective way possible

This is actually a better version than Neil Young's original. Sometimes it happens like that eg UB40's 'Red red wine' where a cover is better than the original.

just heard this track for the first time yesterday quite by chance
honestly dont think ive ever been more blown away by any other song
liked eurhythmics stuff ok but more b/c of dave stewart

I honestly didn't know it was a cover. Will have to listen to original. But annie lennox singing it is amazing it is such a beautiful, emotional, brilliant song. Annie lennox is an absloute star. I love her music. Heard this in American beauty and i was like this song is amazing I have to download it.

Gorgeous, majestic, powerful. When I first heard this song in "American Beauty", I went out in search of the CD. During the first play, I was almost brought to tears, so moved I was. This is why I so love music.
