  • @7Storm7 Awesome! Hope you enjoy the hobby, thanks for watching as well!

  • Brian! After I watched your video, about a week ago I found some rivercane down in the bottoms brother. I stumbled upon it completely by chance while squirrel hunting. It was in an area that does flood, but was on a little plateau of sorts surround by large Maple, Oak and Hickory and other hardwoods. I wrapped some jute twine around it to try and keep them straight while they all dry out. Was not sure what kind to harvest. I got some "green" ones and some that were very stiff and hard and dry.

  • @wgfarmer harvest it green start with 7-8 ft. lengths, tie them in bundles of 7-10 wrap them up let them completely dry, I'll get back to you limited computor use at this time.

  • thanks for the video!I've been interested in atlatls for a while, and your video was verryy informative.thanks again

  • @Snowalker13

Hopefully for the Fall Gathering. I am still waiting for my new visa to come through. I dont want to buy my flights until I have it in my hand as I cannot afford to loose the money like in 2010.

  • Good lesson, thanks.

  • Loved the video bro! The atlatl actually makes sense now. My 4 year old watch it with me and she kept saying "atlatl, atlatl, atlatl, atlatl..." Funny stuff! See ya soon bro!

  • @legacysurvival We will have to make some on our down time during class, can't wait!

  • I like this video and have been wanting to do this project. Now I know how. Thanks.

    - I would be interested in seeing a dart video. In particular, what exactly is river cane and how the straitening is done (I have seen some videos showing process but they usually use a blow torch of some kind). I am looking for a camp fire project.

  • @REXMARX003 -When i get some raw materials I'll go through it there are however some very good videos up now one by PALEOALEO you should check out, thanks for watching

  • Great video Brian. I am going to be on the lookout for some river cane. Hopefully I can find some in Southern Indiana along the Wabash, White or Patoka River. Surely there is some around here wouldn't you think man? I've never noticed it or gathered any.

  • @wgfarmer - This doesn't help you but the cane in the darts I have came from Va. I know it's prevalent there and in Tn.

  • interesting

i always wanted to try an atlatl

now i'm going to try and make one

thanks for the video and the idea

  • @mooseyou2 - Your'e welcome glad you're gonna run with it
