Mostly BS. PTFE won't harm you at all if it's ingested and though Teflon has been produced with the known carcinogen PFOA, in the manufacturing process, there is likely to be none in the cookware you but and most other PTFE coated cookware id made without PFOA. Yes, overheating can cause PTFE to break down into some potentially toxic substances and care should be taken when using it, it's lousy for searing meat and stir frying but it is great for omelets or crepes when you use low heat anyway.
I'm 50/50 here. Teflon was invented to reduce the need for excess cooking oils, since we have a serious obesity issue in the US. If you cook with stainless steel, you need a heleva lot of fattening oil to cook your food. I understand teflon causes cancer, but using cooking oils to cook your food with stainelss steel causes heart attacks. So whatta ya do? I've tried those fat free sprays in stainless steel and your food still sticks. only oil works. I hate SS!! I wish teflon wasn't cancerous
You know - I'm getting the distinct impression that somebody is trying to poison me.... Teflon Floride HFCS Microwave Ovens GMO's Pesticides Corexit Asbestos Cigarettes All the crap they put in meat...... All the crap they put in processed food..... MSG I'm sure there are lot more that I forgot to list. Fukushima......
It seems that ptfe is now used in fireworks - if you heat this stuff and it produces a gas instantly lethal to birds, what happens if you fire lots of it into the air and a flock of birds happens by-----?
By the way, this gas is not just lethal to birds, its lethal to humans too - which is why it is in section 2 of the chemicals weapons convention - its just that there is not enough on one frying pan.
Teflon was approved in an awful hurry.... thanks for posting the TRUTH........ just because it's on/in EVERYTHING doesn't make it SAFE.... like water flouridation..... THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!!!!!!
There are other revolutionary new ways to have a non killing non stick pan in the market today. This is a classic example of Eugenics (population control) prevalent in society today. It is maintained and executed by the current elitists of our time. Don't believe me? check it out. Bill gates tells it straight to you. Come to my channel and watch the video in my Eugenics play list. Its the first video.
my wife seared a steak on high heat last night and smoked up the house, ive gone through 24 hrs of hell!...i had a series of severe nosebleeds, extreme headache and flu like symptoms.throw that teflon away!
teflon has been in used since 1940s and there is probably not one single reported case that shows up that can directly linked it to cancer in humans. with the whole world pratically using this chemical or some other forms of it, why is it that there is not even dead body show up yet.
Is this for real? How many people here know anything about chemistry? Teflon is a chlorocarbon and reacts very little. Little reaction means little work done to your body. Teflon reacts so little that we're not even sure if it's really carcinogen or not, it's not "proven". And even if was, the amount found on your pots and pans is very little. Like Paracelsus said, "the dose makes the poison".
Well isn't teflon only dangerous when you misuse it? Like using heat over medium, metal utentsils on the coating that isn't metal utensil safe, and nonstick oil spray. From what I read about teflon coated pans, it's only dangerous if you abuse it.
@BartImpson That's functionally correct. Teflon is fine you just have to cook properly. You can't let stuff burn hard and you cannot use metal utensils. I have one for quick breakfast stuff but it really helps to learn how to use stainless steel and if you're really rolling in the dough you can buy ceramic non stick pans.
@phuturephunk Well some nonstick pans are able to withstand metal utensils better than other pans/coatings but yeah not using metal is best. Unless you absolutely need to. Make sure it is safer with metal utensil usage though. And I agree with the stainless steel being used if you use it right. I say save the nonstick for eggs, fish, other delicate foods and sticky foods.
I always knew NOT to use steel utensils on Teflon to keep from damaging the surface and getting pieces of the coating in your food, but didn't realize the toxicity of the product. Thanks for the info!
BTW... the beard looks good... suits you. I don't have the patience to keep mine trimmed up all nice and neat... I just let it fly in the wind. LoL
i will tell my mom and dad about this cuz they use those non stick pans all the time and the black stuff gets in the eggs and i thought it was pepper but she said she dont add pepper or salt
Great video!

That is until you heat it, then it reacts.

can u name brand names of safe frying pans to buy please!
llamita1980 1 year ago
@llamita1980 just look for steel or porcelain cookware. copper works too but its quite expensive.
AndyDrewww 1 year ago
@llamita1980 Go for any decent stainless steel pans. Usually the better brands are named after chefs etc...
