I truly believe Nelson was one of the handsomest men in his 30' and 40's.. As he aged he seemed to be sad and unhappy. Still even then, his voice never lost its beauty and quality. I never would have watched his movie The Chocolate Soldier if not captivated by his voice and his face. Too bad he died so young. Ann Brown
3 years ago on a beautiful autumn day in the Surrey countryside, I went to the funeral/cremation of a most lovely old chap . The service was kindly and uplifting, but as we left the chapel, over the sound system came this song. Harry and his wife Pat had been keen ballroom dancers all their married life. This finale was truly magnificent and we trooped out of the chapel with a spring in our step and song in our hearts. What a wonderful way to remember Harry.
Absolutely beautiful. I remember the first song I ever heard by Nelson Eddy & Janette MacDomald. It was from a 1960 RCA Victor album and, you guessed it, it was Indian Love Call. Needless to say, it was the perfect introduction!
You are right Nelson never pushes his voice. His voice is always sincere, natural and effortless-amazing breath control. Nelson`s voice is passionate and intense with out going over the top. His sensitive lyric interpretation- the way he places emotional emphasis on individual words is a joy. Lorraine
Yes he does draw you in with his voice.Whatever he is feeling, his audience feels too. He and Jeanette MacDonald both had a genuine spirituality. What ever song they sang, their voice came from their heart and soul. Their voices conveyed the sheer joy of singing. Lorraine
You hardly see a film of Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald on TV now. i remmber many years ago BBC2 had a movie of them on every friday evening at 6 o'clock. they were Brilliant togather. the B&W where the best.
I would love if one the the TV Stations would start showing all the old musicals with Nelson Eddy, Janette MacDomald and also Deanna Durban. I would have a problem rising from the chair to do anything.
There will never be another singer and actor as amazing as Nelson Eddy

Yes, he had a beautiful voice -- didn't have to roll his r's as so many male singers did.
