The South Tipperary accent is very flat to begin with so while her accent has changed it hasn't changed as much as people think. I know because i am from south Tipp (5 miles from Ballyporeen) and i have lived in the States for 12 years. The Tipp accent is just not as pronounced as Kerry, cork or Limerick.
I spent a few years in europe and I would say she still has Irish manorisms, but anyone who spends time in another country is going to pick up things from that language. Maybe you've never left your state your whole life so you wouldn't know that.
Maybe it's just me, but I almost got the sense she thinks less of ROADS than her other two albums - just dismissing it as her "pop album." ROADS is my favorite of hers. HOLLOW has some very good tracks, but I like it less than her first two! I'd like her to move back away from "mellow," and back into rock!
Excellent, a rare PROPER interview... Love the idea for the new album... Biggest disappointment of The Hollow of Morning is that the last track is purely instrumental...it has a Simon & Garfunlel feel, almost "Scarborough Fair-esque"...that kind of stuff needs lyrics and will be truly beautiful I have no doubt...
Night On My Side is one of the best albums of all time.... shows what record labels know

No dammit! We Americans demand that all Irish people speak like leprechauns! We do so love our stereotypes. So get on that!
