@23tlp Well I dunno how they're translating, but they never gave a second though to the other translations for yuurei (which one of them is phantom) Yuurei　「幽霊」　literally means "faint-spirit". The more appropiate translation for ghost would be Bourei　「亡霊」　Which literally means "deceased-spirit". I'm looking in Rikaichan and none of the translations say "ghost" under yuurei which I find odd.

@23tlp You do know you can't really trust a wiki right? You're better off trusting a dictionary translations and even that sometimes can be wrong. It's really hard trying to find an accurate source of translations, However in Perfect Memento (the official Touhou fanbook) specifically grouped Phantoms and Ghosts in there own categories. I did the calculations using WolframAlpha (who knew it accepted yojana as a unit?), and it says that 1 yojana is 14.62km (Wikipedia says the exact measurement is disputed and between 6 to 15km). 200 yojana in 1 slash (.4 seconds) is about 7310km/s. Which is about 2.4% the speed of light (in a vacuum).

Well, my good friends, I am a nerd who calculated Youmu Konpaku's possible top speed. you see, she can travel "200 yojana in one slash". A yojana is approximately 19.2 Km (12 miles), and a single slash from a swordsman of her class is typically 0.4 seconds, including inertia for consecutive strikes. Therefore,

(200 x 19200 metres) / 0.4 = 9600000 metres per second, which equates to Mach 28235.5 (Mach is " times the speed of sound")

@Danjiano Oh, I misinterpreted what you said. Yes, the slash itself does take 1/30 of a second, but I also factored in both wind up and inertia times into my case. That and the fact that she must also accelerate and slow down while travelling this distance (or to get into physics, displacement). That is how I reached my result.

I reccommend Gensokyo.org They add doujinshi every 2 weeks, and they have an "recent gallery" of back issues and an archive. The archive is available through a torrent download.
