In a region about of_ 7th min veryy cool peace of composition. Hello from Russia 'n people who loves electrical signals going thru many elecrtical circuits. My name Nikita .
first of all, it has 16 tracks not 6. the synthesis engine is in no way strictly VA (physical modelling, FM synthesis, etc.). The integrated work flow is seamless. The performance capabilities because of the accessibility of the interface is amazing. The DA converters are staggering in their quality. As of yet, I know of no other hardware with live resampling capabilities. I find most critics of the MD are people who have never used one or seen someone use one in RL who knew how to use it.
This is exactely what I wanted to see... Asking myself wether MD was only Minimal Techno making machine... nope! Your IDM's good buddy! Keep going! Few parts sound just perfect!
Me: "Oh go on, please, just the one more drum synthesizer", Wife: "no you said that about the last one and we can't move in the house for the things now ..." :-)
I got an ESX and I love the thing. Its not the best gear around but for the price, and depending on your samples, its frikkin amazing. We are using my ESX in our set. Iv got samples that have been from ea2 and er2, thru reason, and back to the ESX. Its ALL on how you use it and what sound you want. These are instruments after all. We got our first vid up on youtube. We called Brainz in Jarz.
nice machines give nice tweakings, good work , you are an artist with lots of skill, i would love to do live performance with you, you are very skilled, i am a tweaker myself, the universe of sounds is quite something, we cant even scratch the surface in our lifetime, just have fun like this guy here and enjoy yourself. I dont record myself yet but i am investing in a mobile setup, to get out of this damn basement, to make things happen, to meet people and show the world the soundscapes of life
it comes down to the user's ability every bit as much as the gear, chief.
the esx sounds fine. you have to put good samples into it to begin with. it can sound better than 80-90% of the drumboxes ever made, actually.
the esx is warmer than the elektron for one. using the individual outs it can sound very deep and smooth. not bad for a cheap Japanese box packed with simple features...and it shines when used as a sequencing fx box, too.
i stil think this sounds better than the electribes because as i understand this is a drum synth? were as electribes rely on sample play backs of overused 808 and 909 drums ...this is why i eventually turned to sampling everything as far as drums go. this drum machine sounds fantastic thank you
well, i agree with all of you. I was just in a mood where I wasn't liking my ESX, and I've always loved Machine Drums.
It is possible to make some amazing stuff with electribes, for sure, but MD's synthesis can make stuff that you would never hear synthesized on an electribe. they are just more powerful machines.
Most everything is good if you put it in the right context.
still amazing dude....love it fully

What you mean the guys who use MAX MSP for most of their work :D
aikighost 3 years ago
Well I know what I hear 'most' on Untilted and Quaristice.
Raothelegend 3 years ago 2
yea but they also use a shit load of hard wear :P
swarm69 3 years ago
they augment the sequencing capabilities of a lot of analog things with max, but certainly don't use max exclusively.
but reason + MPD = lolz.

Also I don't really count Autechre as IDM any more they are pure leftfield nowadays. There is no "D" in their music anymore :D

I know what you mean. I have an ESX+Micro-X and the things sound like such shit compared to the MD and monomachine.
inthefade 4 years ago
What do you mean it sounds like shit? There are ways doing some complex things on the ESX as well.
