  • Such a wonderful song!

  • Because of you I learned a little bit swedish, Thanks a lot ,Sir!

  • This is the only time my mandatory Swedish from school times comes handy. Oj, vilken sång!

  • @Verihevi I wish we could've taken Swedish. We just got French or German :(

  • I love this:]]]

  • I think a little better translation for for "Himmel Så Trind" is Heavens So Thick.

  • Swedish is the best language EVA!!!

  • May I say that Swedish is a very nice language, even though it's pretty hard (I'm half swedish) to get the words right sometimes, haha.

  • Såååå jäkla bra!!!

  • As soon as you know more than one language, learning another seems less complicated. People that only speak one langage tend to pronounce, lets say, english, with a french accent! They don't understand how they have it wrong when you tell them.

With a new langage, you have to learn different new sounds. I think I like Swedish because of these sounds that doesn't sound like anything I know ( I speak french and english), although at times it seems to have been influenced by english.

  • is swedish so hard for ppl to learn i can speak and understand swedish sins i was 5 but i am from norway so it is pretty easy for me to learn :) but we in norway talk like this jeg syns falconer er et kult band = i think falconer is a cool band

  • @nosdaemon It is for people that haven't learned accents, especially Americans. We don't have as many accents on vowels that are directly displayed, and the alphabet and grammar of English is pretty simple. I know Swedish to me seems a difficult language.

Then again, English's main knock is the massive lexicon where several words mean basically the same thing, but have completely different connotations. I know that throws a lot of English learners abroad. Good show for learning!

  • Fjärrvärme? Haha, ja, tur att man har humor ... :)

  • This lyrics appear to come from an old legend or something. I liked the beats.

  • Great song, i cant stop listening to it :D

I just wish we had more bands like this in sweden :(

  • Well, glad to know i'm not the only one trying to learn Swedish songs even though i'm not swedish at all! Folk songs are great, even if they are sung in foreign languages, it makes them even more charming!

There are so many good bands in Sweden! My top favourite bands are all Swedish, like The Flower Kings, Opeth and Pain of Salvation! How I wish they would actually sing more songs in their own language!

  • @Wyvernfang "lillasyster" and "Raubtier" sing in swedish, proably alot more but them i know of.

  • @Wyvernfang have you heard Therion. Great band.

  • fucking awesome

  • Good to see there are people who takes their time to translate falconers swedish lyrics.

That way not only us swedes can appriciate their song

  • I am sorry to say this but this is propably, the worst translation from swedish to english i have seen in a long time >< "trolle de huttrar och svär" is not "the trolls the shudder and swear" but " the trols they hear and answer"

  • @angel666oflight

Actually, "Trollen de huttrar och svär" means just "The trolls shudder and swear". Or you could say shudder and curses.

"The trolls hear and answer" would be "Trollen lyssnar och hör".

  • I am sorry to say this but this is propably, the worst translation from swedish to english i have seen in a long time >< "trolle de huttrar och svär" is not "the trolls the shudder and swear" but " the trols they hear and answer"

  • I suppose you should correct some errors in English subtitles.

  • i love scandinavian power metal. HAIL FROM NORWAY!

  • how would you say "that's the game" in swedish?

I mean, similar to the english "that's life" (when bitching about something)?

  • @yonataneshel Sådant är Livet or Sånt är Livet

  • @cantbebotheredtoname - Tack mate, what's the difference between "Sådant" and "Sånt"?

  • @yonataneshel No difference except "Sådant" is more old fashioned than "sånt".

  • Sånt is a slang for a short way to say Sådant, Its the same word really

  • @yonataneshel i would personally would go with livet suger,vänj dig. life sucks, get used to it

  • heyhoy87 - thank you! and how would I pronounce it? is it like:

    "livet suYer, vänY diY"?

Because I know that many time G is pronounced like Y in Swedish

  • they are??! hell should i know..i failed grammar class epicly..but seriously i dont know, have swedish as my mother-language so i dont notice stuff like that.

  • Well, not exactly like Y, but close enough. Livet suGer, vänY diY, I' d say.

  • Thats the game is? In Swedish "Så e de bara" ore "så lyder tingens ordning"

  • Atherion, i'd just like to say i'm really greatfull for the Lyrics work u'w done on the swedish songs. I'm swedish my self, andi sign allot of theese songs. I love Falconer, and i can only dream of ever getting that kinda voice and singing skill. But at any rate, thank you allot for u'r masterfull work. They help me allot ^^

  • lol it's my ringtone too, and I don't even speak Swedish at all! I learned it and vArvindar friska by heart I'm practicing my Swedish accent on it. the trickiest line is of course

"Tur att man fjärrvärme har" - no matter how many bloody times I'll try, I just can't pronounce it like he does! HOW DO YOU DO IT?

  • I'd try taking it slowly, pronounce each part separately and then slowly string them together, listen to how he says them, and work on getting each part down separately. :) Might help

  • @MasterAtherion its hard to do that because you don't want to rewind the because it hurts the melody, of this awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome song. Did I mention it was awesome? Yeah, I think it did... Didn't I? Oh well, just in case... THIS SONG IS AWESOME

PS. Jag älskar mitt språk. <3

  • @yonataneshel Try singing it, they do say we sing when we speak.

  • @yonataneshel TU-YR AE-TT MA-RN- FJAAR-VAAR-MEH HARR

  • @yonataneshel Haha! that line is awesome :P It's completely out of place. :P Fjärrvärma is a modern house-heating system. that redirects hotwater from a remote location to households. Fjärr == Distant. Värme == heat :D Doesn't fit in with the rest of the song which is sung in a very archaic way. :P

  • @yonataneshel dude the natives even have a hard time pronounce it... i'm just sayin

  • @yonataneshel

I'm a swede, for me it's really easy speaking swedish ;).

But I don't blame you. Our language is wonderful, but still hard for beginners at the same time because of our grammatics.

Just practise, you'll get the hang of it :)

  • this language is so fucking beautiful

  • @virgincollector69 haha i am a swe so sweden thank you :P

  • @virgincollector69 Yeah, to think the German language was taken from the Norse language! I am really proud of my German Inheritance!

  • @virgincollector69 As is yours lol XD

  • Great song, and nice video. I've been wondering what the words mean and it's cool to have subtitles. On another subject, are there any guitarists here that can tell me how Falconer tuned their guitars for this song? I thought they played in D, but this sounds a bit lower.

  • Sounds like it's in C#m, but thats just from me messing around soloing over it, my guitar is tuned low enough to try the rythm.

  • Alright. Thanks.

  • I frekkin love this song! Been on my phone for a while now! It's my ringtone! :D

  • jag vill ha den låten

  • Jag har en >:)

  • Tur att man fjärrvärme har!!!! Wooo! Falconer ee typ bästa svenska bandet :D

  • Älskar denna låten !

Tur att man fjärrvärme har ;)

  • falconer äger

  • my favorite song of falconer

  • I agree that district heating seems a bit out of place XD All the rest of the lyrics are timeless, sounding more like out of a fairy-tale than from real life, but then the district heating comment throws you straight back into present day.

  • I like this song, tho I can't for my life get why he's talking about district heating (fjärr värme)

  • he is saying that a person is lucky that they have the "district heating" when the frost is coming

  • yes, I get that too ^^ but he's singing about trolls and things like that, feels like district heating don¨t realy fits in to the rest of the lyrics

  • mysigaste lååten<3

  • THEY ROCK! Thank you for the uploading, Jag älskar dom!

  • Falconer rules!!! New Album out this month!!!

  • Oops... sorry... you were right...

  • well for that part it the translator had to go with the context to make it make sense :D

    glad you enjoy it.

  • Great job...

Only that I think "trind" means "klar", if I'm not misstaken...

    (Yeah, I'm swedish...)

  • Another Swede here. Trind essentially means fat or chubby.

  • yes, but as done with this translation it is more lyircal to say "thick" or "full"

  • Yes, I fully agree with the translation used in this particular context.

  • Okay, i get what you mean now

  • I was acctually wondering what "fjärrvärme" meant. :p

I understood that it had to do with heating, but that's as far as I got.

There are still quite noticable gaps between norwegian and swedish. :p

  • I love the "fjällvärme" part :D

  • (2.08, if someone would wonder)

  • Nice, acctually verry nice. Im from sweden myself, and i´ve always loved the song, although never had an idea what the lyrics were like in english. Thanks man. Epic :)

  • thank you. i am glad you like it. this time the credit goes to Ancient Minstrel, i believe, on the falconer forum.

  • thats cool, i am glad that you like my videos

  • I love every one of these videos. I've gotten a couple of CD's now, and one of them is Northwind, but I didn't know what this particular song was about until now.

  • Thanks you guys, glad you like the video.

  • I love Falconer

    good job man =)

  • greatness as usual man thanks
