  • Wonderful !!!

  • both are 6 string necks with six strings..... I'm guessing they are tuned differently or have a different humbucker, something we cant really see.....

  • @diaganosisskillz look again, count the machine heads.... 6

  • does anyone else hate when the crowd decides to clap with the song? cause i cant stand it.

  • @nickolousetrece you may not like but most musicians do, let's them know that people are feeling the groove that is being laid down.

  • @GrapeApeAH i get that, but what i guess i should have said was i dont like how most times the crowds clapping is so off compared to the music.

  • @nickolousetrece I agree with that. I think if you're going to clap, you have to clap in time. I feel the same way when I'm the one on the stage.

  • I'd be the happiest person alive with a thumbs up.

  • Fuck you! Mr. one dislike!

  • The last line got cut off and should have read: "fantastic year for EVH & VH. God bless em' both and ROCK ON MY AX SLINGING BRO'S!!!"

  • Paul is a monster player, I would even venture to say that he can out play EVH! That's right, I said it! EVH will always be the innovative father of modern shred guitar playing, so I take nothing away from him there.

  • As far as speed, I really think Paul has the edge there, as to soul, I have to give that one to EVH (See solo on Sinner's Swing, the single most out of control controlled solo ever immortalized on vinyl/CD/MP3 etc.) and finally as to technical prowess, Paul has it over EVH, besides, we have the same first name!!

  • Both men are amazing guitarist's and have influenced my playing for years, but, EVH has lost a step lately and Paul is going strong, and I know that EVH is much older than Paul, but Paul hasn't ruined his body from partying too much and smoking a thousand cig's a day. I love EVH's playing, even though he swiped his two handed technique from Andre Segovia, which he has admitted in interviews, but I truly feel that Paul has become the master while EVH is stuck in 1984, which admittedly was a fant

  • What's the songs name?

  • @MrXAVIERDB ok, no problem .....no offense.

  • @MrXAVIERDB the thing most you bashers don't know. Paul can play ANY kind of music , from Blues to Rock to Jazz to Fusion to Paul Gilbert crazyness....This kid has so much talent, it isn't even funny.

  • having two necks CAN give you a variety of different tonal varieties even from strings to pick ups even the material on a given side the number of reasons for two necks are staggering even some as simple and "stylistic" as scalloping the frets on one will effect the way the play

  • No me gusta....ME ENCANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!espero tokar asi el bajo!jajaja

  • what's the point of two guitar necks that are the exact same? (both 6 string). I can't seem to find out the difference. I mean, i get 6 string/ 12 string. Unless it's purely cosmetic...

  • @dahudge14 There's only 3 strings on the lower neck.

  • @andersson90 4 strings and everyone is tuned to e

  • @andersson90 do you know how they are tuned?

  • @andersson90 Yeah, he also made a video about it explaining why it has only 3 string; it makes stringskipping easier

  • @andersson90 No, there are six. Look carefully. The lower neck has an open tuning.

  • @andersson90 and the tuning is different

  • @andersson90 and different tunigs also

  • @andersson90

Exactly! and they are all tuned in E.

  • @andersson90 Actually! There's only four strings on the lower neck ;D

  • @andersson90

And all tuned to E :D

  • @andersson90 I thought it was 4 tuned like a violin?

  • @garyptaszek 3 octaves of E! brilliant idea.

  • @dahudge14 Paul took three strings off the lower neck and tuned them all to E.

  • @dahudge14 3 strings. all tuned E in different octaves.

  • @dahudge14 Each neck can be different, not to mention the pickups :P He wouldn't use two neck guitars for no reason.

  • @dahudge14 It gives you the option of having two different tunings ready to go.

  • @dahudge14 he has different tunings on it so he can switch back and forth

  • @dahudge14 plus as Joe Bonamassa stated, when you see a double neck guitar, you know some crazy stuff's about to happen

  • Comment removed

  • @dahudge14 3 E string. Actually, two E and one D tuned in E

  • @dahudge14 Double neck guitars ain't only used if you need a 6 and a 12 string guitar at your hand it's also very useful if you need 2 regular 6 strings with different tunnings like in this case in this video... it has nothing to do with the lower neck only having 3 strings or anything as you can see it is 2 regular 6 strings... so in this case it's abut having 2 guitars tuned differently.

  • @capminister Exactly! Took the words out of my head. They can also be used if you want two different tones in your pickups, or even for different neck contours.

And yes, it is cosmetic, just like every aspect of any concert performance. It's about absorbing the audience into what they see and hear.

  • @dahudge14 well would you get different tunings? one might be Open C while the other is in standard =P since the lower neck has 3 strings and from the way he is swepining im guessing its E E E, should check out the song three E's for edward =P

  • @dahudge14 and they are almost always tuned different

  • @dahudge14 or you cold put different gauges, tune irt other way, change the pickup...

  • @dahudge14 - some double necks have a traditional guitar and a baritone guitar; also one neck could have heavier gauge strings, different tuning, etc)

  • @dahudge14 Double the awsome

  • @dahudge14 and the 3 stings are E-tuned! :)

  • @dahudge14 the 3 strings on the lower neck are all tuned in E

  • @dahudge14

    l'accordage mon pote

  • paul looks like han solo in this video lol

  • @MrXAVIERDB 1 lets see you do better 2 give me one kid who can get up on stage and play like paul infront of hundreds of people if you dont like paul why did you watch one of his videos yeah the shredding thing is nothng new but pal sounds mazing and is always coming up with new stuff so stop pretending youre some musical no it all and fuck off

  • Wow. Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert together. Pure awesomeness!

  • can you buy his double neck guitar?

  • ポールが帰ってきたー!!

    i love Paul Gilbert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He was Just teacher s Buckethead..... no more

    no words

    it s all....

  • CARAI

  • Well, I'm not really sure, but there are parts of Three E's for Edward, from Paul's Get out of my yard. I don't know the other parts, though.

  • Does anyone kno the name of this song?!?!?!?!?!

  • @XxSuperSass69xX the human capo

  • everyone is a member of the audience is another geek guitarist

  • Unbelievable skills, Paul Gilbert is simply a bloody 6 string genius!! He is on top of the game by far!

  • good to c driller guys together...

there's no doubt they got the balls

  • what this song call?

    Does anybody know? ^^

  • @kpdurex dude, ive been trying to find out forever!!! nobody knos, lol :(

  • @XxSuperSass69xX the first bit is very simalar to some parts on get out of my yard

  • Some of the cleanest tone and phrasing of any guitarist out there! Not a note melts into another; each one is distinct. Nice low end on that distortion, too.

  • @sword6204 3 things at work here. He's using a bridge pickup while most guitarists would use the neck for a more buttery smooth tone. Laney amplifiers are super crisp. Not the most expensive amp on the planet, but definitely deserving of higher prices. Well those two and Paul's technique is awesome. I bet he wouldn't sound as bitchin playing through a farty, muddy, and overpriced Mesa Boogie that's for sure.

  • @bedofrazorsqwerty

Actually, Paul is using Marshall Amps now :*( I miss the Laney tone, though!

  • Billy Sheehan BASS GOD.

  • if you have a double neck bass or guitar, can you hvae on neck have a different effect than another?

  • not really, unless you have 2 imputs, one for each neck, going into 2 different effects arrays

  • @mngler AND you're PAUL GILBERT helps

  • yes you can, but for that you need to have two distinct outputs on the guitar, jus like steve vai has, check the G3 Denver concert, where he plays his 3 neck beast!
