How to modify the main page in Zen Cart

Hi Michelle, at the start of your video, in the define pages section, your Text Editor drop down box gives you the option to preview as Plain Text and HTML. Mine only gives me the Plain Text option, would you happen to know how i can add the HTML option, as I'm completely confused by code (I'm need to see it as i go or i have no idea what I'm doing). Also, would it be possible to post the link to your first ZenCart tutorial, you explain everything so well, thank you so much for any help, Jess xx

@Jessclay244 To be honest I'm not sure. The video was recorded some time ago now when I was trying to create a shopping cart for a client, so it's very possible that they've changed the code slightly.

To find this information out in the first place, I just googled my question and found it amongst the zen cart tutorials if that helps you at all?

Sorry I couldn't be much help - I've not touched Zen Cart in a VERY long time! :)

Thank you so much for your reply, I've since learned that the version i have has had the standard html editor removed (thank you zen-cart forum) i was sent a link to an alternative. But, after spending all day trying to get my head around it i think im going to try and find something else, its just too complicated for me. again, thank you for taking the time to reply, Jess xx

@Jessclay244 That forum is great! Glad you got your answer, but yeah it is a VERY complicated shopping cart and I only did the videos because I KNEW I'd forget what I'd done the last time!

haha i can see that could happen! I chose to try zen cart as it promised to be easy to use even for the beginer and only basic web knowlegde is needed, i think my definition of "basic" and theirs is a little different! I bet it is great if you know what you're doing lol

@Jessclay244 Haha no Zen Cart is probably the most complex thing I've ever worked with, but I'm not an "expert" either. But in saying that, I'm much more advanced than most people I know too and or the most part, I had no idea what I was doing and had to keep referring to the forums for help!

I tried that but when I re loaded my store the entire store front was out of syc.

the right navigation section was outside to the right of the rest of the page.

@joshanator1 When something like that happens, I often just replace the specific file I was editing with the original.  It's important to always make a backup. Hope that helps.

also do you know of any good places for free add ons? this is my first attempt at using zencart so all help will be much appreciated?

Have you tried googling your question? To be honest, that's how I worked it out! :)

@bellesecret Try the instructions found in the zen cart tutorials. Most of what I learned about Zen cart was by Googling my questions. Just be sure to back up your zen cart files before modifying them - you'd hate to mess them up! :)

I have attempted numerous times to find the following...includes/languages­/ENGLISH/index.php in the zen cart program.....Exactly where is this button located in the admin section....How do I locate this file in order to make changes....

@akadeb78 You will need to modify these via your FTP program. You need to modify the program on your computer, then upload it back to the appropriate directory on your site.

Now.. I am trying to do this (this is my first day with ZenCart) but the internet explorer says "Done but with errors on page" and I'm not able to see any code (the chart is empty at all)

I am using IE 8..

hi i need help i tried adding pictures to my web site from my i phone as it takes better picture than my camera , but when i upload the pictures they upload but don't show up anywhere and the section on new products disappears . when i delete them again the sections comes back on ..... do the pictures have to be a certain size ? any ideas please sheila
