  • Rest in peace, Christopher Shea.

  • Was always a joy to watch these cartoons before the video age made access real easy.

  • Awww, Lucy's actually being a nice sister!

  • Has any art work ever captured the spirit of a pizzed off woman better? "NOI, I HAD TO LISTEN TO YOU!" How many guys have not heard that sentence?

  • I can't help but think of The Millerites whenever I see this.

  • I remember watching that episode one halloween when I was a little kid

  • It's the great Dolemite!

  • thumbs up if you remember when Mikey 'd use to sell charlie brown drinking glasses and you still have one

  • Lucy: WHY ARE YOU STILL OUT HERE? IT'S 4 AM, YOU BLOCKHEAD!

  • "If you hold my hand I'll slug you!" Funny, I thought she'd like it if he did that. XD

Can anyone explain to me how one measures the sincerity of a pumpkin patch?

  • ever notice how linus and charlie brown have different voices in the other movies?

  • Lucy is a fucking cunt

  • @R0773N Dude, never get in the way of a woman and her chocolate. EVER!

  • The Simpsons made an episode out of it! Treehouse of Horror XIX!

  • <3 this!!!

  • THIS VERSION SUCKS!!

"It's The Great Dolemite Charlie Brown!"

    ^ ^ ^This one is WAAAAAAYYYY better!!

    Trust me

  • This show reminds me of homework, because my parent would always harp on me to finish it before I could watch it.

  • Well, did he leave anybody anything?

  • I'm 40 now, but if they made Charlie Brown pajama's with the little plastic feet to fit me, you can bet yer ass i'd get in em, kick back while I watch this, and be transported back in time. (I really miss my Winnie The Pooh pajamas)

  • Nice Linus meth face at 13 seconds.

  • hahaha You owe me restitution!! PPFFTTTT LOL Note Ladies, never go on a date in a Pumpkin patch..lmao

  • 2:00 Let's pretend this was something right out of the Flintstones.

    Barney: Hey Fred!

    Fred: Yeah Barn?

Barney: You've herd about fury of a woman's scorn haven't you?

Fred: I should know about that. I'm married to it.

Barney: That's nothing compared to fury of a woman that's cheated out of tricks or treats.

  • 2:21 "if the Great Pumpkin comes - good grief! I said "if"! I'm doomed!"

  • Wait, why did Lucy have her alarm set for 4am?

  • Linus got off too easy. At 2:15 I can't believe he still doesn't get it. She's mad!

  • - E X C E L L E N T!!!

  • MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A KID AGAIN!!!

  • Poor Sally. Poor Linus.

  • I lovee Charlie Brown cartoons !!!

  • horror??

  • Sally's voice sounds like that chic from the movie Chasing Amy... Joey Adams perhaps?

  • @loveforeignaccents I heard it was Fergie the singer that did Sally's voice

  • My favorite Charlie Browns : Charlie Brown Christmas and Its the Great pumpkin Charlie Brown

  • The background music is priceless.

  • Poor Linus. He's so sweet and sincere about his belief in the Great Pumpkin. It's so sad when he implores "aren't you going to stay and greet the Great Pumpkin? Huh? It won't be long now!" Poor kid, he really believes in the Great Pumpkin and gets ridiculed for it. It's funny, but heartbreaking too.

  • I love the holiday Peanut cartoons. I guess I'll never grow up.

  • It's on Channel 7 8:00 pm sharp tonight everybody! Happy Halloween!

  • My sister told me that if Lucy left Linus in the pumpkin patch, he'd catch a cold. Obviously Linus doesn't care. He just wants the Great Pumpkin to come.

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How many Halloweens did Sally actually miss? According to the comic strip, she seems to miss it rather frequently, but if you only watch this adventure, you would think that she only missed one.

  • I didn't understand what my elders were trying to tell me about "how the world is changing for the worst" until I look back on the days when I was a child and Charlie Brown T.V. Specials were not to be missed.

  • Ok people, let's cut the crap about religion and stuff. Just enjoy the show! ok?

    (makes cute puppy face)

  • Comment removed

  • This clip, and a clip from "Happy Easter, Charlie Brown" (the part where Peppermint Patty is reading a recipe and is puzzling over the instruction "fold in an egg" and she says "they'd be easier to fold if I fry them first") make me laugh so hard even though I've seen them both multiple times...

  • It just occurred to me how easily this could be adapted into a serious horror story about a crazy Wiccan boy summoning a demon that rewards good children... and kills bad children...

  • @timeparadox888 They kind of did that sort of thing on Robot Chicken.

  • Hahaha! Sally. . . "If you try to hold my hand I'll slug you!" Haha! It's so out of the blue! Haha! "I'll sue!" Oh, Peanuts. How I love them. :)

  • @robynn0405 Yes, antisocial psychotic violent tendencies in children are quite funny. =|

  • I WAS ROBBED

  • Quite choppy animation and not the best storyline. Aaaaand, disliked. =]

  • @DramaticKnowledge

charlie brown's a classic dude gtfo

  • @jrobear10 I disagree, it's quite dull and flawed. The art style is very unoriginal and the premise of the show is a child who has no charisma. Quite an uninspired creation.

  • @DramaticKnowledge

Who cares about any of that, it was made to entertain children that that's what it did.

  • @jrobear10 A very low audience to target indeed, it was obvious to me from the start that only those that are children or have the mental capacity of one could enjoy this show but a surprising number of aged people were commenting on this, which piqued my interest and amusement.

  • @DramaticKnowledge Asshole if it wasn't for shows like these you wouldn't have your precious Disney or Nick.. Think about Origins of things. If you think you can do better I would love to see you try. >.>

  • @IceMaverick1986 Disney and Nick? I don't see what made you believe that I have the slightest bit of preference for either of those networks.

Not to mention "Let's see you do better" is a very common, flawed defense as a replacement for anything meaningful. One does not have to be skilled at creating something to indulge in it. Think of wine connoisseurs - though they judge wine on its taste, they do not have to possess the slightest ounce of knowledge on brewing it.

    Anything else, child?

  • @DramaticKnowledge It's ok, after reading your dumb comment, I gave the video a thumbs up

  • @DramaticKnowledge . here is some news for you this cartoon is to entertain children and Yes Adults as most cartoons do.. a child doesn't care if it is State of the Art. if they enjoy it that's all that counts. If you don't care for it fine that's your opinion but millions of children have enjoyed it over the years and still do as adults. It's a Classic cartoon people enjoy.

  • Linus doesn't want to understand that there is no "Great Pumpkin."

  • Sally is ridiculously melodramatic

  • Lucy may be a total b to Charlie Brown, but she's a pretty good sister. She not only wakes up at 4am to check on Linus, but she also asks neighbors for extra candy to give to her brother.

  • HMMMM, I THINK IM GONNA SIT IN THE PUMPKIN PATCH ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT ALSO AND WAIT FOR THE GREAT PUMPKIN TO COME.

  • Why are you bald, Charlie Brown?

    - Saxman, a YouTube legend

  • if u try to hold my hand ill sug u XD

  • I stole the great pumpkin and made it into pumpkin pie.

  • I love when Snoopy comes out..

  • I love when his eyes bulge when he says you can see with your own eyes. That was always my favorite part!

  • not me, and i was alone with the man i love , may be forever, and i would have stayed with Jesus the whole time, alone.

  • ROFLMAO @ 1:54 .

    "YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION !"

  • oh great pumpkin, trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat.

  • Watched this saturday on my birthday. It isn't the season without charlie brown.

  • i think im gonna sit in the pumkin patch on halloween night and wait for the great pumkin also.

  • @NJCountryboy2011 Hmmm, a country boy sitting alone in a pumpkin patch ALONE... with pumpkins... let me know if anything comes up... sigh. lol

  • A true classic!! I literally grew up ALL my life with this show & to this day & im 43 now I watch this on my dvd all thru the month of october, that & other halloween themed shows i have on dvd, happy halloween everyone!!

  • cool

  • lucy is a good sister, my sister would leave me outside!!!!!!!!!

  • Sally: I`ll sue lol

  • O GREAT PUMPKIN, WHERE ARE YOU????? lol lol lol

  • Poor Linus will never learn........thank goodness

  • 02:00 "You've heard of a 'Liberal' Scorned, haven't you?" LMAO "I'LL SUE!" Was this a premonition of the future from way back when?

  • halloween for me was watching great pumpkin i watch every year on halloween

  • Favorite part 1:25 :)

  • lol

  • ugly

  • uploaded on the simpson TOH 19 airdate, when they came with the story "It's the great pumpkin, Milhouse", lol

  • Why would any parent let their child sleep outside in a pumpkin patch until 12:00, and then let their daughter go get him?

  • @664566565 When a parent sounds like a trumpet, you know they have serious problems.

  • 0:13 - that thing he does when he says "your OWN EYES" has become a running gag with me and my sister. Everytime someone says that we bring that shit up.

  • almost all the girl's in peanuts were bitches.

  • "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" are, in my opinion, classics. The other peanuts "specials" were cheap imitations-like the later Looney Tune remakes.

  • @Tubetopfan1 AGREED!!!! Those were the only real ones.

  • 6 people was getting ready for porn when Linus & Sally was in the pumpkin patch

  • How old are they? What a colorful vocabulary for someone who's only......

  • Check out: Charlie Brown and the Great Dolemite.

    You'll Laugh.

  • YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!!!!!!

  • You Blockhead!

  • this scene where snoopy comes up alwaus used to make me laugh until i peed my underoos

  • wow 1966 the same year when the beatles album revolver came out

  • Word of advice Guys "Don't keep a woman in a Pumpkin Patch all night waiting for the Great Punpkin. . You don't want to see or feel the fury of a woman who was cheated out of Tricks or Treats. LMAO

  • This is not Fergie doing the voice of Sally in "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". Fergie did the voice of Sally in 2 Peanuts cartoon movies. "It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown" and "Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown".

  • If you substitute the words, "The Great Pumpkin" for "The Rapture", this scene is almost seamless! I imagine Harold Camping must be feeling a bit like Linus Van Pelt right about now. That block-head!

  • lol yeah fergie the fucking raddest chica alive was sally brown and patty haha

  • like this comment if you think snoopy WAS the best and still IS the BEST!!!

  • cool

  • lol sally, she's so cute

  • FERGIE from da black eyed peas did sallys voice lol

  • @purplegoth47 , Fergie did do Sally's Voice but NOT in " It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. She did Sally's voice in It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown, 1984, and Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown, 1985 as well as on four episodes of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show

  • @purplegoth47 . Fergie did Sally's voice in the 1980's on the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show but not in this Halloween cartoon which came out before she was born.

  • OK...when freaked out about the idea of the Great Pumpkin passing by him just because he doubted for a second it would appear, on my mind the words OBSSESIVE PERSONALITY came to me

  • Sally really let Linus have it after he ruined her Halloween..."I WAS ROBBED! YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!" LOL. They say h--- have no fury like a woman scorn....but it almost doesn't compared to her offspring's rage as Sally demonstrated.

  • what a fool i was

  • he got his first piece of pussy in the pumkin patch that night

  • every time I see this cartoon the celtic in me comes out

  • IT"S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CALEB EMORY!!!!!!!

  • I like how Lucy got up and did her big sister duty by saving her little brother from the cold and placing him in bed. Schulz teaching little kids that you should look out and care for your brothers and sisters.

  • @ReeseMac True that is a good leason to learn to look out for your young brother and sister even if they do something stupid like sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin.

  • I love how Lucy comes and brings her little brother back in the house and puts him to bed.

  • Name: Luan. Job: Student. Age: 15. Status: Waiting for the great pumpkin.

  • It's sweet what a girl would do for a boy she likes... even if he's completely delusional :)

  • Please everyone...use this rant when facing a less than satisfactory bedroom experience. It's more than appropriate.

  • lol Pause at 0:13. Funny face!

  • If he would have just kissed her while she was complaining, she would have shut up.

But then again if he kissed her, he may never hear the end of it for the rest of his life from her, lol.

  • @hwaprincess

wouldn't of she of slapped him if he did kiss her while she complained?

but good point that it could of shut her up and he would nvr hear the ending of the relationship.

Plus Charlie didn't want him near her.

  • "YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!!! Most hilarious line, Sally!

  • Crybaby Boobie Is Like Sally Brown.

  • おもしろいよね、スヌーピー。

anyway,でつ←it is looks like snoopy isnt it

    in japan,“でつ”がスヌーピーに見えるって言われているんだって。(^^)

  • @elie0925 o.o

  • i love the look in linus' eyes on :12 sec.!!! O_O

  • lol, lucy is such a good older sister....

  • This cartoon is the reason I'm an atheist.

  • @oldbluescott I'm sorry to hear that; I really don't consider the Great Pumpkin translatable to God even metaphorically since part of the point of the cartoon is that no one else but Linus has even heard of the Great Pumpkin before. It seems to me to be better translated as an argument against cults.

  • @oldbluescott Yeah, that was a really bad argument. But you're very young---too young to understand something more complicated than 5 week relationship.

  • @snakedemon11 It was a joke, you guys. The Great Pumpkin isn't just about religion; it's about all kinds of disappointment and doubt. No matter what your beliefs are, there will come a time when you'll be sitting alone in the pumpkin patch with them.

  • LOL i saw the great pumpkin

  • Good Grief I'VE MISSED HIM!!

  • so the great pumpkin never came

  • YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!!!

best line EVER!!! i'm surprised Sally knows such a big and intellectual word like that.

  • "If you try to hold my hand I will slug you!" LMAO! That was my favorite line during that whole scene. :D

  • @sillygrl23 And she calls him her "sweet babboo".

  • I remember these from a kid omg I have many vhs of old 80s cartoons lol

  • I suppose these children's parents never feared Child Abduction....nice

  • @ladymusiq Child abduction wasn't really heard of until the 80s. It was only then the media started striking fear into parents that your kid will be snatched up if you let your eyes off of them for even a second.

Not saying that parents shouldn't be watching for their children, but now a days it just seems like we are trying to raise a bunch of over privileged, self absorbed (due to crap like facebook), take no responsibility, Nancys who see dodge ball promoting bullying.

  • @DMalenfant1 I seriously agreed with that

  • @DMalenfant1 These days it's the children you fear, lol.

  • Thumbs up if you got this from Micro Volts!

  • I was asking myself about the whereabouts of the parents a couple minutes ago, and now it just occurred to me. Maybe they're out on a tear. (LOL)

  • Nice moment with Linus and Lucy as the song named for them plays.

  • woman just wont stop bitching

  • I love that eerie music that plays over the special.

  • hey full moons dont appear on Halloween

  • "nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see" LOL

  • Not a sign of hypocrisy!

  • Ya know if you think about it the pumpkin patch would be empty on Halloween

so the pumpkins could all be sold off , baked , smashed , carved whatever . It is still a classic cartoon but far removed from reality .

  • @americanzombie2012 well, I'm asuming Linus grew it himself. he said it was "sincere", not "well chosen". :)

  • for halloween watch " Igor- neyo "

share it with a child 4 halloween

  • that was nice of Lucy to pick up Linus at 4 in the morning. She could have easily left him to freeze the next day.

  • WHAT..A FOOL I WAS!! LOL

  • I WAS ROBBED! LMAO

  • this the peanuts catoon of all time

imagination is what this all about

  • I love how Snoopy just swoops down like it was nothing. XDD

  • Aww...I always feel sorry for Linus at the last scene! I used to cry at that scene, too, when I was little, not only because of that, but the music is quite sad. Bless Linus's heart for waiting for his holiday hero every year!

  • Comment removed

  • @85agapanthusgal Awwww... This comment warms my heart! Me too!!! What a sweetie!

  • @85agapanthusgal I remember my mom said ``Bless his heart'' when that scene came on. My mom was a big softie like that , I felt bad for Linus too. I know that feeling of being dead tired and taking off your shoes and dozing off to sleep like never before. This special is a classic , we would watch it every single year. Halloween for me was watching movies like this , ``Donald Duck in Trick or Treat'' , ``Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'' , and listening to the ``Haunted Mansion'' on vinyl.

  • 0:11 With your own eyes lol

  • @TheArmyDaughter lol @_@

  • This TV Special is almost better than the 1965 classic, "A Charlie Brown Christmas." God bless Charles Schultz.

  • I particularly like this scene at the end where you see a begrungingly compassionate act from Lucy!

  • "There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin." -Linus

  • What I like is that it shos luicy does care about linace if she didt she would had let him stay out their

  • I ll SUE!!! haha

  • This is, in it's own way, an interesting comment on religions in general. I remember in the beginning of this show when Linus is writing his letter to "The Great Pumpkin", he writes, "And if you're not real...please don't tell me, I don't want to know..." Or words to that effect. Shultz really pulled off a fast one here, decades before it's time.... Bravo.

  • Its weird how Linus says Pumpkin... XD

  • Christ, inus just doesn't get it. He duped Lucy and can't figure out why she left. Even after she shook him with her fist.

  • Sally is so lucky, she learned so much earlier then most girls!
