you aren't supposed to break bricks with a closed fist...
you should leave your hand open...
secondlly you stop yourself a little before striking the brick... that is WRONG...
you should never slow down before striking the brick... what happenes with most people who attempt it is that they try to stop right at the brick instead of stopping their arm after the brick (thats going through the brick into an imagionary spot...)
just in case u didnt know, ur body was angled away from the brick, ur hand should come from straight up and go straight down. U need to also use ur body, dont just try to do it with ur arm, ur whole body helps u build up enough force to get through it
when you are watching breaking on youtube rember that bricks come in different strengths and sizes. you seem to be trying to break a 3" thick paving brick whereas in the tutorial you seem to be referring to the young man seems to be breaking a 2" paver or tile. I think that you may have been had.
Open or closed hand does not matter I have done it with both if your hand is closed to just have hit with the less cushy part of the fist.
