Why did the U.S. Retreat and Defeat in Afghanistan? What happened to the Bush Doctrine? Why is Pakistan harboring Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, and has Nookular WMD? WTF?
Even the Iraqi's wants the American troops to leave their country by proposing a deadline, just like what Obama's been proposing. That's why our country is hated around the world for being war mongers. Troops fighting for the special interest of this administration. Justifying something that's been proven wrong(WMD)just the save the reputation of Bush is absurd. What's makes me even more sicker is when Pres. What a joke supporting McCain! McCain has been on the wrong side of every issue!! We're occupying a Country that has clearly asked us to set a time table, or get out... mean while Afghanistan is getting worse, the generals there said they are limited because of the Iraq war!!! Please ask the wizard for a brain!!
Can you supply us with the job spec please.. would that include 1. draining iraq of its oil supplies or 2. building a embassy bigger than the vatican to further control the middle east (and its oil) 3. wage war against iran?? the only fact is, it was an illegal war!!
Well, since things are going so peachy in Iraq.. And the Prime Minister is calling for a timeline of withdrawal, I would have to say that our job will be finished sooner rather than later if we begin the pull out. Time to refocus on Afghanistan as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and Obama are calling for.
That's just it. Conditions on the ground are getting to the point where we can do just that but before there was a very hard push in this country to yank the rug from under our troops while they were still in combat and the situation in Iraq was chaotic to put it mildly. Thanks to a change in strategy (though late in coming) we and the Iraqis have stopped the civil war instigated by AQI so we can now withdraw and we'll be leaving a secure Iraq able to govern itself.
Well if that is just it... Then why is Bush & Co still resisting a timeline? Those of us who have wanted a timeline set for some time now don't see how that equates to the yanking of rugs, nobody has called for immediate withdrawal of all troops. Obama and others who are not beholden to the Neocon agenda have been trying to get us to re-focus on A-stan for a year or more now, but the administration didn't listen. Now the Taliban is functioning agian & AQ has reconstituted in Afghan/Pakistan.
AQ in Iraq did not instigate civil war, look up the differences between the sunni, shia, kurd, and other tribal histories if you want to know why there is the possibility of civil war.
This is a great ad and I hope more like it will follow. Obama has changed his position on Iraq from his primary web page post of "One Signature Can End The War" to "it depends." Despite the negative nature of national news, the U.S. (not just the military) is doing a lot of good here . . . We are trying to put a broken country back together again and it takes time . . . The US military is more like an armed Peace Corps than anything else. We fight the War on Terror with a gun in one hand and a contract in the other . . . It's definitely a cause worth spending 6 months out of your life on.

Eighteen months ago John McCain argued that the safest way out of Iraq was to win, then withdraw. Barack Obama said that victory in any meaningful sense was not only unlikely, but that the presence of large numbers of American soldiers actually fed the insurgency and decreased the prospects for stability. On that crucially important decision, at least, it is becoming ever more obvious that McCain was right and Obama was wrong.
So what happend to the hunt for Osama in this Global War on Terror? What happened to the hunt for the U.S. Military Grade Anthrax Terrorist from Ft. Deitrick? Is there victory in Afghanistan? What about Pakistan? regards
So AQ didn't have sanctuary in Afghanistan when it was under the Taliban? We can debae whether we should've gone to Iraq all day but Afghanistan was pretty clear cut. As for the ad itself, it nailed the point home IMO. Right or wrong, we're there and we got a job to finish and leaving before the situation is stable would make conditions far worse. Stability is becoming more and more present and Iraqis themselves are stepping up are securing their own country. Yes we can - win in Iraq.
You won't acknowledge those victories when they come either. Like your party, you will stand on the sidelines of history and lob stones while men greater than yourself defend civilization against one of the most barbarous ideologies of mankind.
The fact you still hold on to the idea that the cute drawings of donkeys or elephants hold any real meaning is just plain silly.
There ARE different partys in America. However, one is made of up of greedy, corporation-serving, corrupt leaders whos goals are a global government through enslaving entire countries into debt. Oh, and their blind supporters.

"Vets for Freedom" -- Their name reminds me of when the Serbs invaded Vukovar in 1991. They slaughtered hundreds of innocent people (including 200 injured patients from the city hospital) who had been taken captive, and then the Serbs declared that they'd "liberated" the city.
If this war were about "freedom," why does McCain say we should occupy Iraq for 10,000 years? That's not freedom.

Critics of the genocide in Iraq have argued, for years, that Iraq has diverted resources from the fight in Global War on Terror. Where is the Coalition of the Willing? GWOT, What a farce!
I agree we need more troops. Obama agrees. McCain agrees. I guess we all agree. As Iraq calms down, I expect to see more troops moved to Afghanistan. 2009+ we will be talking much more about Afghanistan and less about Iraq. By the way, where is NATO in all this?

Logic dictates if WE ARE DOING BETTER WE CAN LEAVE.
We just celebrated our independence and we should give Iraq that freedom. ProWar = Anti-Iraqi Freedom.
Give them their nation back, let them decide their fate. If they fail its because THEY FAILED. We built them a government, we killed the horrible leader they had, and they have billions of our money. WE ALREADY WON THE WAR. THE WAR IS WON.THE WAR IS WON.THE WAR IS WON.THE WAR IS WON.THE WAR IS WON.THE WAR IS WON, NOW BRING OUR TROOPS HOME
Yes, if we do better we can slowly move troops out as long as we don't abandon the Iraqis. That is the trick. Right now, we have their back, if we leave too quickly, the enemy will take the cities back. The IA needs us now. But we can slowly withdraw (no timelines yet because we simply don't know what will happen... this has to be dictated by the situation on ghe ground)
We have to tell them we are not staying forever and give them firm dates. i am not in favor of making a Welfare State is totally dependent on the United States to get things done. The US remains the world's leading force for terrorist smart bombs, tyranny, and corporate globalization. If Iraq is stablilized why can't we leave? Guerrilla warfare isn't over until the guerrillas win. Following illegitimate orders is a violation of the military oath, and it's not honorable, and it's not patriotic. Will McCain take a trip to Afghanistan & Paksitan to see the progress first hand in this Global War on Terror & Drugs. Borrowing 16 Billion A month from China, for Iraq? Priceless!

You can't spread democracy via the barrel of a gun! The Shi run government will become a theocracy aligned with Iran. The markets are not "free" any more. No bid contracts and corporate run White house! We need to take back this country from fascist like you!

My friends, It's been 2,484 days since George WMD Bush said he'd catch Osama bin Laden Dead or Alive? 9/11, Never forget, Remember? Uh what about Al Qaeda in Pakistan? Oh! Iraq didn't have WMD, no alliance to Al Qaeda.
They were no threat. Borrowing Billions from China at our own expense is not in our interest. With all due respect, the US Military has failed in its oath to God to protect and defend the US Constitution. The Military is broken. The Government is bankrupt. The Republic is dead!

Wow, I didn't think our vets could be that huge of idiots. Afghanistan has surpassed Iraq in casualties this month. Wow, it's a good thing Barack Obama has voted for the veto-proof new GI bill that even McCain didn't but now wants to take credit for. Maybe a college education will help you understand what "change" really means.

Awesome video! Keep up the good work.
(oh, and I love the subtle, ironic jab - "that's change we can believe in." It's too bad Barack Obama's "change" doesn't involve victory in Iraq!)
