if Rock Hard, Ride free was number two, then for sure Out in the cold is Number one...yes fellows you're watching the best song in the music history :)
Man, look at KK downing just tear it up. Then you got Glen just keeping you hooked. Rob and his incredible vocals, This is The greatest Metal band in All of metal.
sometimes...I remember the "Bushberry Beast" and her life.....so long ago....when I hear this song...it all comes rushing back to me. I do miss everything. Quietly.
saw this performance at Mohegan Sun with my Children, raised proper, Priest fans from the cradle....what an incredible night!!!!! Rob is Priest! There would be no Judas Priest without Rob Halford, no way!
I agree with you on Rob, but for me it´s not Judas Priest anymore since KK left the band. I did not go to see the "farewell" tour when it came my way. I don´t regret it at all.
BTW the first time I saw Priest live was in october 86 on the Fuel for LIfe tour. That changed my life!!!!!!!!!!!
You're right about the fact that it's good that Rob went to rehab & got himself cleaned up on the inside,Mrs Ace. Unfortunately the best JP material came from his young reckless days. However, those old songs (Sinner, Ripper, The Green Manalishi) pack more punch with him sober.
I was vocalizing this song this afternoon across the desert-the desert plains of the Coachella Valley..I had to see a live performance of this song. One of my very favorite songs from Judas Preist........
This was in Dallas, TX 1986. I was there!!! Out in that crowd. I remember hearing Rob singing, but we couldn't see him. We all said, "where the f*#k is he?" ;0)
@halfordsdoll im only 18 and i would give anything to be there!! It was such a powerful moment when he finally appeared on stage, the crowd's scream made it so exciting! I bet you had lots of fun!! I love Rob! :)
When I saw this entrance in 1986 it was perfect. It was understated with no hint of flash. We could hear him and then to see slowly emerge from the back of the stage with that voice gave me goosebumps.
This is one of the few bands that sound better to me live than in studio! Rob, Glenn, K.K., Ian, and Scott are definitely great musicians! Thank you guys for the music.
This song reminds me of someone I used to date. Alot of emotions for me with this song. And its been over 20years. Needless to say that person got what he deserved. The lyrics say it all
This song reminds me of someone I used to date. Alot of emotions for me with this song. And its been over 20years. Needless to say that person got what he deserved.
'Turbo' is one hell of an album, not Priest's "worst", but come on. It has great songs, and is definatly one of their strongest 80's efforts (not counting 'British Steel' of course).
It is so magical when Rob is comming upstairs. "We" can hear his amazing voice, but "we" can not see him. And then he shows up, all clean and sober after he defeated his inner demons, better than ever - what a great feeling! I'm sure this is one of the greatest openings of the concert ever!
@MrsAcecard that's because halford is the man. he is totally confident in what he does, and he truly lives for metal. he has more charisma on stage than a lot of great performers. it's not a job to him, it's his life.
@MrsAcecard You got that right. I saw this concert at Reunion arena, and at first i wondered is "Rob here , is it just a recording". Then slowly he emerges. It was magical. This song is slow and heavy. i have seen priest 5 different times and in every decade and this is the heaviest opening ever for them.
@MrsAcecard I wish i was at this concert,I have it on dvd.I never got the chance to see them live in the 80's.I saw them for the first time in 1990 on the painkiller tour. That was an amazing show.
Judas Priest, is real Heavy Metal. I have every vinyl and a few tapes that I have collected for many years. I take very good care of them so they last . The internet and You Tube is nice to use. It helps keep my collection in perfect condition. Plus, "my c.p.u gets' great sound with my stereo setup" and It get's very loud in my garage.
Judas Priest sounds great very loud. Painkiller, Sinner, and Hammer and the Anvil. Those song's are great
fav on the album. brit steal, screaming for vengence, defenders of the faith i think my pers. fav. albums. i hate turbo. the lost alot of crediblity on that one. johny be good sucked complete ass. painkiller revived them lmao.
i love judas since the begenning but "priest live" is a real movie live , the sound not!!!! i remember 1985 nobody could understand why they did that ..a playback video !!!

@CincinnatusUSA British Steel has always been 1 of my least favorite JP albums Love "Breaking The Law," though hate the fact th@ it's played 2 fast live. Anyway, don't know why BS is so revered by many, especially when compared 2 the others. Shit, BS's best (we're talkin' song 4 song) vs. Turbo's best and Turbo wins. this song isn't a break from their "metal" songs. If anything, this song takes them back to where they came from. Listen to their early albums like sin after sin, sad wings, or even screaming and you'll hear tons of songs just like this.
I went to this tour in '86 at Irvine Meadows in Southern California. Great show! This video bring back alot of memories. Actually got to meet Rob a couple of weeks ago as he is promoting his Christmas CD. He was very cool!
I bought the VHS of this when it was first released. I connected the VCR to the Stereo, and recorded the whole concert onto reel-to-reel and then dubbed it over to cassette.
I sold the cassettes to my friends.
I miss them days, now everything is on the Internet, all you have to do is a search and you find it, there is no magic no more in being able to get your hands on something special.
Your comments just captured my teenage years. Copying friends albums onto cassettes because we had no money to buy the album. I used to do the same thing u did with live concerts. Awesome. I used to wear out my cassettes.
My son just turned 16 this past October 16th, and when he has the extra cash, he always buys music, either through Internet sites or the local stores.
It is so cool that he understand that the only true magic, is when you can hold that music in your hands.
People use to come over to my house all the time to get me to record my albums to cassette for them, I miss those days.
My son is 15 (I also have 9 yr old) but I turned them on to bands like Kiss and Alice Cooper when he was younger ,but now it seems he has moved on to "death metal". At least my 9 yr old still enjoys the music with me. His first concert was Alice Cooper 3 yrs ago. We also went to see Priest last year with Heaven and Hell....Awesome show.
BUT, his all time favorite is KISS (My son is named after Eric Carr, his name is Carr, Check out my profile and you will see his video, Black Cat when he was younger)
Though my son listen's to Death, Black, Nu metal and the rest of it, there is times that he puts nothing but 70's 80's music on his MP3 player, Shot he loves Ritchie Valens, he is versital, he loves it all, even some Rap (I HATE RAP), but he likes it, then at times, he hates it too.
Awesome! My 9yr old went as the "Demon" Gene Simmons for Halloween a couple of years ago. My kids don't like rap (thank God) and thank you for helping me relive some great memories of my teen years ( I am 41). Keep in touch.
The only thing that is left any more when it comes to Music, is getting your hands on overseas records, especially Vinyl or obscure CD's and maybe the occasional bootleg DVD/VHS. But to purchase them, NOT download, sort of brings that magic back to you again. It is like my son, he gets money and he purchases his music and it is magic to him, better than downloads.
I miss the magic, the internet killed the magic. Very sad!
Copying something to a reel-to-reel and then selling it is bootlegging. Selling something that you don't own or have the rights to.
Whereas with downloading, you can find music you never heard before for free and then, if you like it (and you aren't a complete tool), you can buy it from the people who DO own the rights to it.
I know there are many who download everything and don't care to support artists but I like to think for real music appreciators, that magic's there still.

As I said above, there is no magic left.
Rock on "standtall67"
The magic is where we make it now.
To make magic!

Yep, my son's favorite band is: Slipknot.

One more think.
As a gift to my son, I designed the Official "The Fifth Faithfuls" MySpace page, which is for a local band that just got signed with Univeral records
myspace com /thefifthfaithfuls (Broken link)
They are old school 80s Metal with a new 2000's touch to it.
Great band, and my son loves them. He has seen them 2 times, has seen KISS 5 times, and waiting to see KISS again really soon when they come to NC.
Love it.

Very sad!

@carrzkiss
Yeah, you can just download something you might be interested in...as opposed to bootlegging something and selling it!?
Kind of a hypocritical viewpoint of things, don't you think? I've bought everything Priest put out (mostly the original vinyls).

@pulsedemon
What are you referring too? hypocritical viewpoint of things?
To what I stated?
Downloading from the Internet removes the magic, the pain the pleasure of going out and finding it through friends of friends of friends.
Downloading takes a few minutes to find it, and then a few minutes to download it.
hypocritical viewpoint of things.
No, It is a fact that the magic is gone.

@pulsedemon
I think you are totally taking what I have said incorrect and out of its context.
Listen. Downloading Music is Illegal. We all know this fact.
BUT, What I am stating is this.
Before the Internet, you had to go out searching and looking for stuff that was not available, and when you got your hands on it, it was like magic.
Even the bands feel this way, they liked it better when people bootlegged than being able to Download.
I am sorry that you have misunderstood me.
