  • ouch, those wonderful lyrics are gone

  • Did I just walked into RedZone in NYC?

  • Also, the Loose Joints track this samples does just about the same thing for me!!! So it's all good all around, y'all!!! House music all night long... xoxo

  • I read all the other comments below and I just feel so not alone and full-a-luv. I'm 33 y/o now, and the first time I heard this track I was 13 y/o and had been passed a mixtape from an older clubkid. That was in '92. This track changed my life, really--along with Ride on the Rhythm (Little Louis Vega), which was also on that first mix tape. The first time I heard this, I just felt like someone had made music just for me--a scared, young, gay teenager in DC. Thumbs up if 6:21 is your SHIT!

  • FTWLTG track! Good memories

  • Loose Joints!

  • The Octagon NYC! 33rd and 12th Ave! Rodger DJ'ed there when he did this track!

  • @siah12197 I STILL use the baby powder! I was recently at a club in Miami and some guy said to me he hadn't seen baby powder on the floor since the 1980's!

  • @thirdeye1010 Whats the baby powder for? Did you guys use it for your feet back in the day? Because its an essential for me when I go to party... Diddnt know it was common place.

  • @DannyKing3000 we put baby powder on the floor so you can get SMOOOOTH

  • THIS IS THE SHIT! I REMEMBER DANCING AT THE NYC'S SOUND FACTORY ON A SPEAKER, AND ALMOST FELL OFF!

  • chicago will always be the first in house....oh how i long for the good old days.........in chi town with the finest hot mix dj team. hot mix 5 baby

  • chicago will always be the first in house....

  • this was chicago old school disco house that ruled every car radio playing. thankx to wkkc, wcyc, wnur, wbmx, wgci..........the LEGENDARY HOT MIX 5.

MALOS, HIS N MINE, THE PINK DOLL......GRAND MANOR, ALL THE CICERO PARTIES.......

  • This song chopped and screwed and mixed with "Is It All Over My Face" by Loose Joints. Check it out !

  • it's so.. house... so.. oldschool

  • 6 dislikes they must be nuts

  • If someone had to rate the Top 10 house music tracks EVER, this gem would clearly be there, probably amongst the Top 5. This track never failed to fill a dance floor back in the (wonderful) 90s, when house music ruled Clubland and going to a nightclub in northern NJ or in NYC was like an Adventure in Paradise. Ah, I miss those priceless days. And if you never had a chance to experience this golden club era for yourself....oh well.

  • First time I heard this was years ago on a radio station in Utica, NY of all places they had some Saturday night mix show going on we were checking it out and getting fired up of course !!

  • Who remembers the Sound Factory on W27 street???

  • I just walked into the Tunnel in NYC>..gosh i missed those days.

  • You FrankiexNYC wasen't that the best? Going to the club in NYC on a Saturday and not coming out until about noon on Sunday? You'd get on the floor and start dancing and completely forget about time because you'd be lost in the music! People who are not from NYC just can't understand!

  • Good Gawd! ...all I can smell is the baby powder! ....Jersey STAND UP! ...yes, I am an old househead and probably danced to many of y'all back in the day ...I was the one with biggest hair...lol...wild and bushy and too yound to be in the be in clubs (47 now and still crazy) back then but sh*t....couldnt pass dancin to these fab classic house cuts in 88, sensations, shelter, and so on....Long live HOUSE.

  • @JerzNadine , Zanzibar!

  • @JerzNadine ahhh....the baby powder :) miss those days.

  • Oh mate!! This is such tune! up there with the likes of New Jersey Deep- Black Science Orchestra.

Thank you to the people behind this sound, heavenly...honestly....something else.

  • Great song: i have the vinyl and sometimes i play it (always good)

  • strictly rhythm

  • i'm a fetus in my 2nd trimester, but i love this music :)

  • A beat that makes you vogue from start to finish, awesome classic! (House music of this caliber hardly seems "classic" )

  • I m 3 months old and I'm grooooooving right now...

  • Major Classic! The old school sound! Love being stuck in the 90's !

  • Screw That! The lighthouse jams by the GWB! OUTDOORS, LATENIGHT, FRESH!

  • This song is so foreign and alien to what my peers listen to... They're all really excited about the upcoming Godsmack concert, and the blossoming metal scene. I wish the two clubs in my town played anything remotely close to this.

  • @khatmandont unfortunately youre not gonna find many clubs that play this style of music anymore unless youre in certain larger cities. sucks, but times have changed. :(

  • @khatmandont Where do you live? Maybe you should learn how to DJ and start your own night, lol. Or even relocate. The strange thing is that I used to be really into metal, but one day I said the same thing you said, and started asking around, started frequenting clubs, meeting DJs, learning to dance from house dancers, and 4 years later it has become a lifestyle. My life is totally different because of this music and culture. Something to think about.

  • coool one of the best tracks ive stumbled upon.

  • Havn't heard this in ages. Thanks!

  • so much soul

  • new jersey's in a house,folks;;;

  • am a dj and i still spin this smooth shit gotta love 90s ..........

  • this was the national anthem of house

  • Roger Sanchez!!!

  • DJ Mark Watson. May you rest in peace.

We would dj together on Friday nights at the Baseline in Philadelphia.

    We would WORK this record!

You made Philly feel this record!! You were the first to play this record in a club in Philly. Sean Diaz and I went crazy!!

  • Grooves!!

  • classic garage house!

  • What a good tune. I've been played this stuff throughout my childhood from my dad, and im now 21! I remember the wailing in this track sounds like it was used in an LTJ Bukem track on Logical Progression as well!

  • da WAREHOUSE 738 S.HALSTED BABY!!!!!!!!!!

  • THAT'S ART!!

  • TRUE HOUSE MUSIC.SAY NO MORE!!!!

  • digg it meng

  • Is that Grace Jones doing the vocals?

  • @Brotherman7 The vocals are sampled from Loose Joints "Is It All Over My Face". The wails are from Carl Bean "I Was Born This Way"

  • @feartactics 0:37 That vocalist sounds like Grace Jones to me, not a male singer.. Thanks for telling me who's wailing, I did sample his songs and I do hear his voice.

  • @feartactics thanks...since day one i've been trying to figure out the sample and always assumed it was David Bowie!!! lol

  • real sexy house....am I getting old or does no one do house like this anymore?

  • @markfilshie I hear ya.... if you're on facebook go to old ravers page - some corkers on there

  • @MissJac1973 Ta MissJac.....Love it!!!

  • I like this! Very cool and laid back.

  • This is the first song I worked on with Roger...a lot of the style of the arrangement is me. The remix that came out with Jasmine after did even better than the original. I'll post a comment about that on that song. :D But this is truly the best track Roger gets credit for. The other stuff isn't as good because he didn't have the rawness of the crowds we played for to feed on...or my hip-hop influenced house style that so many DJs were attempting to do back then...

  • try the original :

Loose Joints - Is it all over my face (Larry Levan Mix)

  • I'll never get tired of this music! And I'm only 21..Zanzibar(Jersey) The Shelter(NYC) Chi town(South Side) and Detroit STAND UP!!!!

  • Do you youngster really understand when we say this is music? at 4:20 when the flute kicks in my soul has risen to another level, I left my problems, my worries, everything has vanished... cause im Luv Dancin. Peace to all those that remember dancin to this track in the clubs when house music was pure, clean, soulful, and loving. NYC back in the days was on fire.....

  • To me.... The best house song!!!!

  • A Zanzibar Classic, Newark NJ Get Yo Ass Up!!!!!

  • CLASSIC! to the core this records RUUUUUULED the Dance Floor, Does were the days man.

  • I remember hearing this song for the first time when I went to Newark to visit my cousin. He took me to this Club Called Sensations.

  • NYC started getting Wack when ghetto passes started being handed out to suburban kids from Iowa,Kansas,North Dakota, and other uptight conservative regions.

That urban NYC grit which created all the music & dance styles that the world still enjoys today, just doesn't exist anymore.

The new generation of city kids rather look ridiculous in skinny jeans & tight fitting shirts nowadays looking like they overdosed on female hormone pills an shit.

    Gentrification is killing NYC fast..................
