I thinks its good for one to have strong family bonds, but why bring invisible people into it? Maybe humans just havent learned a methodology for such bonding without reference to a deity. The problem I see is the extra-rationality of religious beliefs opens the door to other problems such as being too easily led and not thinking for one's self. Maybe I'm goofy, but to me once a person "knows" a virgin gave birth, what might they also "know"? It's ok to burn alive non-believers? No offense.

I went on the trek at the beginning of the month. I didn't want to go at first and decided 10 days before to go, but the spirit was felt so strong the whole time. We sang this song the last day and I don't think there was a single person that was not crying by the end of the song. It was amazing and the spirit was the strongest then. This is definatly my favorite song! The trek was amazing. I'd do it again any day!
To be honest, I'm not LDS and I don't agree with a lot of what the church teaches as far as I understand it. But I DO like this medley, and recently my recent experiences with LDS missionaries and other members have taught me to rethink some things. Anyways I DO like the song.

Vary beautiful. I know with all my heart that this church is true and that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God and that Gordon B. Hinckley is the prophet today. I know that The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. People just dont understand the power that is in that one book. When I am in a deep study of The Book of Mormon... I am able to overcome challenges much easier and I gain a greater desire to do great things and that desire to do bad things leaves me.
I'm going to have to say to an extent I agree with you; I can't follow the beliefs anymore, and I can't see how the church is true through all the conflicts everywhere... People try and pretend that nothing about the church is corrupt, but every religion is. However, just because you and I don't believe doesn't mean believers should be told their prophet is a liar, seeing as it will have no effect, anyhow. While I was active, the church was my home. I appreciate that, a lot. I just outgrew it.
I think the theory of the curse of the dark skin is pretty corrupt. And how at one point blacks couldn't hold the priesthood. I find that corrupt, and that's a part of the gospel.
