  • Best way to learn it is to marry her.

  • Its hard enough to learn Chinese with a teacher who isn't smoking hot... I can't pay attention!

  • wei sheme ni hen piao liang?

  • yang yang am foreigner learning chinese in china , Hangzhou city pliz can u tell me where can i find ur DVD's in Hangzhou , Thanks !!

  • if you are not ready to learn the Characters at least learn the measure words for identifying objects being that they are a key identifier to a particular object which will come in very useful.. There are over 900 measure words. If you are serious about becoming fluent in less than 2 years, your whole house should be covered with sticky notes with the pin yin word, tone, and measure word for everything. You can learn 500 new words a month with ease if you live the language.

  • Yes I bought the DVD, it is worth the 29.95. Just watch it as many times as it takes, I've watched it at least 10 times. Don't just listen to the lessons, say them out loud to yourself. Once you have learned the tones and how to correctly pronounce the vowels and consanants and the word order things will become very easy, just get a Chinese/English dictionary and read it everyday to learn new words. A big help when learning new words for objects is to also learn the measure words for them.

  • I think it is useful for those who wants to learn to speak english

    我认为真的满有用的 推荐哦~~

  • haha ma ma hu hu sounds so weird with my aussie accent

  • Has anyone bought her DVD? Is it worth the $30? I know it's not much, but I don't want to be wasting my time. She seems like a great teacher (and person in general). So does anyone have any reviews or whatnot?

My teacher is very funny, because when someone presents something or gives a speech, when they finish she will say,

"Everyone, give a plaur of a round"..instead of.. "Everyone, give a round of applause" It's really funny!!

But I guess I would be totally WORSE!! haha!

  • still about "tiger tiger horse horse": later people use that to describe careless or not perfect behavior.

  • here i would like to add the background story of the "horse horse tiger tiger" 马马虎虎 (ma ma hu hu).

in Song dynasty, a careless guy paint a animal with a tiger head and horse body and tell his older son it is tiger, but tell his little son it is a horse when he asked him. Then in street his old son shooted a good horse of others while, even worse, his little son was killed by a real tiger when he tried to ride it.

If you are interested in helping me out with your language I shall certainly help you with your English.

I am a private tutor by profession.

Thanks and please do reply if you are interested.

  • i might buy the DVD but i'm going to see if thier are any good free lesson video i can learn from other teaching mandarin video.

  • i originally thought she had a posh beijing accent because she put beijing as her hometown. after looking through her "TV Show" videos though, her accent sounds like standard mandarin rather than a true beijing accent.

for a native chinese speaker, her english is impressive.

  • 1:04 WTF!!??!!

  • Wo Ai Ni sounds so cute ^_^

  • I found it easier learning Bo Po Mo Fo as it prepared me for learning to read characters as well.... I also like to read the traditional chines vs the newer simplified chinese as it allows me to better read older chinese texts.

  • wo ai ni

  • I hope there is a word in madarin capable of describing this women's beauty, because there is no such word in english ;)

  • 形容一个人漂亮,你可以说:沉鱼落雁,闭月羞花等等:)

  • @JayQuebec116 闭月羞花 沉鱼落雁 国色天香???too many words actually. the first word means the beauty makes the flowers and moon shy and ashamed.. The second word means the beaty makes the fish and birds dropping down. The third word means the beauty is the top class of the whole nation, whose ascent is like from the heaven.. haha, all words are usually used in literature, to describe a suprisingly pretty lady, who is like Helen in Troy story.

  • Do you ship internationally la?

  • @Silentil Yes, we do. Thank you, Silentil.

  • @Silentil

"la"? Gee, I wonder what country you are from.. :-P
