  • i could use one of those i hate turning pages

  • Now lazy people can be MORE lazy :D

  • Homework doing robot is to come hopefully haha

  • What about the number of pages it flips in one rotation?

  • exellent !!!

  • I DONT EVEN READ BOOKS

  • @gagacar11 Then read them so your not stupid.

  • fail at end

  • The problem there is the lower right part of the right page is always covered by the wheel.

  • You know... At some point it will stop because the book is getting to thin at one side.

  • brilliant idea !

  • This is actually brilliant. I'd like to know the recipe for this for a DIY book scanner that I wish to make. Can you help?

  • Excellent!

  • good job little kid, good for a start, although in the real world it would need to be more than that.

  • uhhh.. you could just turn the page instead ud waisting time making a robot??

  • although this is unavoidable with wheel based page turners, you should make it to where it turns one page at a time, because books that have non-smooth pages will create friction and stick together.

  • lol you know in the time it took you to make this, you could have finished the book yourself. lol very good design

  • cool :)

  • this actually does have a legitimate application. this would make automated book scanning cheap and easy.

  • it's easier to turn a page than it is to make a robot that does it for you.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just turn the pages by hand instead of making a lego machine to do it...? Lol

  • @tdog158 Yeah, but this would be a great way to automatically scan an entire book. All you'd need is to sync a camera with the robot, so it'd take a picture of every page

  • there called hands

  • whats the touch sensor for ?

  • Cute lil guy!

    ^^

  • haha. nice work. I recommend this to people who are lazy to flip a page. includes me. well, if can, try make it turn faster

  • nice work

  • That is so cool :)

  • do you have to lower the wheel towards the end of the book?

  • well, actually that design could only work on (estimate) pages 300 - 350ish :-)

  • aha yes you might need to somehow push the wheel down

  • Ok, I will rebuild it so it will work with all the pages (sudden Idea :-) ) and put a new youtube video on

  • Great!

  • @jhwblender Hi can you send me the instructions to reproduce your design?

  • @jhwblender you can put a spring on the top of the wheel so it goes down as the pages lesson.

  • its not giving me enough time to read...

    but anyway nice robot.

  • only lazy ppl dont turn there pages lol NICE WORK cool bot

  • @burningflurber very useful for people with disabilities!

  • @hollleee

    1. Oh duh. Why didn't I think of that?

    2. GOSH MY GRAMMAR SUCKED 8 MONTHS AGO!

  • so what happens when you want to read where the robot wheel is? lol

  • its a good idea for teachers too. when they have a load of papers to mark, a similar robot can be used to flip and turn papers.

  • thats awesome

  • good job...

  • Not be discouraged by the people who can't see the novelty of this device. always remember that some people are intolerant. Like (William Gladstone) ridiculed Michael Faraday when he demonstrated Electricity to him...saying such things as ''but what practical use is it''.

  • Good job jhwblender! Keep doing this. Don't let idiots discourage you. Be proud that you are good at building stuff. One day you can be an engineer if you want that as a career. Study math as much as you can. Very well done!

  • Thank you so much, but don't worry, when I am in collage I am planning to go into robotic research :-)

  • Comment removed

  • So neat! You should market that to musicians. That way they wouldn't have to turn the pages while they're plaing their instruments. :)

  • hahah thats awesome

  • u know its kool that u made it and all but who wud need this

i mean cmon someone without hands?

  • could you write up some instructions for us to use in making one?

  • COOL!!!

do you have directions to make this?

  • I didn't have instructions, I just got the Idea and I made it

  • Were you the one who posted a message regarding this robot at a site called RogueSci?

Just curious; if it wasn't you someone has used your name and claimed to be the creator of this useful instrument.

  • Yes I did :-) I looked up my username and found that.

  • thats pretty neat!

  • Very clever! Nice work!
