I've had my port in for 3 weeks now, and mine still hurts too! I can barely touch it because it's still tender. The doctor says it's because I'm so thin. Even the catheter stick out really bad through my skin. I plan on taking a short video like this when I go in next week.
You should ask them to wear a mask (and you should too) when they access your port and scrub the area for about 2 minutes before insertion to prevent infection!! That's our policy.
I member having a needle put in your port was way easier than elseware. It made receiving chemo way easier!!! *In remission from leukemia* PS: That saleen taste like shizz zlol
@blueyednite the hepron tasted way worse to me. The port is an amazing invention, way better than the external lines that I saw, congrats on your remission. I'm a leukemia survivor
I have a port as well. Mine is for treatment for ym Mitochondrial Disease. This is my seventh port, because mine always clot off. I have a blood clotting disorder. I hope everything goes well for you. :)
I have one of these too. I have also had a few problems with the blood draw. I hope that you are completly healed. I finished six weeks of chemo and radiation three weeks ago. waiting for my operation. Trust in the Lord.
Thanks for putting this video up, my fiance goes for his first round of chemo (with port) in two hours. I hope all is well and thank you again for posting this video.
His first one was bad because his WBC count droped so low and he has lost 29 pounds in one week alone, but now its a little better cause I got him some ensure and he is taking an immune boost injection after treatment... # 3 tomorrow. How are you doing?
Thanks! My port seems to be giving them some trouble. I still have it in-so when I go to have it flushed, it doesn;t like to co operate. :( All is well over all. Thanks again!
once she is messing with the syringe, she shouldn't be up messing with the huber needle again. there is a tremendous risk for infection, she needs new sterile gloves before touvhing that huber

Suck on peppermint candy when they flush it. It hides the taste.

@Reed52398 I totally agree with this, except I used lollipops.
