  • lol 'one' light Hawaiian punch

  • Just go pee pee from weenus and recycle it

  • go to a milk dairy and buy empty gallon jugs for $0.25 to $0.33 each

  • how many drop does that come out to per gallon?

  • Ton of sugar in that punch??

  • I have been doing the same thing - but I remove the labels so the bottles are clear and use a Ultraviolet light on the bottles every so often to disinfect them so I don't have to dump the water. Prior to the uv - I was dumping them in the washing machine and refilling. After Fukishima nuclear disaster - I prefer my old water without any radioactive contamination.

  • Your carpet is cool.

  • I just started storing water for myself, 20oz Gatorade plastic bottles.

I clean them out with hot water, fill with filtered tap water with no additives.

I also have 2, 55gal blue barrels with 1/4 cup bleach each.

    (I'm just getting started)

  • you can buy a 55 Gal drum for $15-20.

  • "it takes a while to get these, about 1 or 2 a week." that does not sound like it would take a while at all. drink more water, we are made mostly of water so it certainly will not hurt you.

  • One bottle says "LIGHT" Do you or your kids drink/eat products with aspartame or nutrasweetners. Don't. They do cause cancer. Great vid. Thanx.

  • @saharra22469 it's also a neuro toxin, I think this is why we see so many alzhiemers patient's!

  • @horsemom78 Good to know. Thanks! :)

  • Quick question Devil Dog. When storing rain water should it be treated the same way if used for plants.

  • I find these types of jugs really great because of the handles, and there not to heavy if I have to tote ome water up from the river.

  • I have a lot of these types of water storage, as well as 5-gallon water jugs. I don't add bleach. My well-water is very good, and I experimented with having it in storage for well over a year, drank the whole thing. Didn't die and didn't get sick, so...

  • Good idea but how long can they be stored like that? I mean do water expire or get spoiled at all? Just wondering..

  • @edbosch1 Change every 6 to 12 months.

  • @edbosch1 I change it out every six months or so. It's kept now just as utility water, but could be used as drinking water. I have changed my water storage since this video.

  • Why not just buy 365 brand at whole foods, 99 cents, and sealed? Seems cheaper to not buy the hi c and just get water.

  • @MandyVin17 The kids like the Punch.

  • @TacticalPhotog See: "Food Matters" and "Food, Inc". Many products slowly make you sick by design.

    Peace.

  • i use the drink bottles after we drink them, just add water. this water will be used for cleaning stuff, pots dishes, not to mention your butt. appocoliptic biday( i know, spelling)

drinking water will come from a different source.

  • if you use 55 gallon poly drums under ground do yo see any problems with this?

  • @lp000028 - I couldn't tell you. Way beyond my knowledge pool.

  • I don't get way you add the bleach. All the videos talk about adding bleach. Tap water has bleach in it already, so why add more?

    Thanks

  • @nateL1914 - City water in itself depending on where you live does have bleach and other chemicals to keep it pure. That said, I can store water without bleaching it, but would definitely bleach it before use, if it was stored in used containers. The better the container the better the storage.

  • @TacticalPhotog Or you could set up a solar distillation apparatus and remove the bleach. Bleach is a disinfectant and not meant to be regularly consumed.

  • @nateL1914 if you store any water for too long that is stored in a recycled container such as the hawaiian punch container, it will get slimy. you can also use colloidal silver (please don't buy it make it instead it is cheaper than bleach this way)to disinfect the water if you don't have bleach. we store water in our empty juice containers and rotate them as we drink them so we are constantly refreshing them. that is the best way to do it so you don't have to ingest bleach all the time!

  • Hey, I liked you video. This is how i started storing water. Additionally, you can store the water for longer and still use it, but if its past the date, you just boil it for five minutes before use. You can also get rid of the bleach smell by running the water through some carbon in a coffee pot. thanks for the video

  • Not sure about punch containers but I have been told to steer clear of fruit juice container reuse due to the natural sugars are nearly impossible to get out and these will cause water to go bad.

  • your right but what i forgot to say is we look at thim close after thay are home. allso i get thim from the same peeps.. so i have got to where thay just save thim for me.

  • hehe sorry I look in peeps yards on recycling day. when i see things i can use i take it. you can ask but i found most just get mad and say i am trowing it awhy.. Btw if its on the curve its 100% legal to take.. Sorry for 2 post lol !!!

  • @yankey4 - Thanks for the comment and thought... The only problem with that is that you don't know what the previous owner put in the container. It could be punch, or radiator fluid... I don't recommend that unless it's the worst of conditions and you can't find containers any where. But thanks for commenting.

  • @TacticalPhotog i once found a water container. and it smelled like gasoline.. hahah. scary.probably people used it for getting gas.

  • Hi bro. Did you think about looking around your close town on recycling day? That works well for me.. Hope that helps. God Bless!!!

  • When i was a kid, about 9 to 10, i used to have tons of these hawaiian punch containers with water in them in my treehouse, as well as other survival supplies and food. I even tried making my treehouse bulletproof with sheet metal. My mom used to tell me to never tell any of my friends or they would think i was weird, but im still doing it.

  • Can you put the bleach in after you seal it? In other words seal just pure water, then add the bleach once you open it? I imagine the water will last longer without the bleach, assuming bleach might add to the degredation of the container.

  • @johnmonk66 - If you live in an area where your water is already chlorinated I don't think it's going to make much difference either way. Just remember to change out the water regularly depending on the conditions you keep it. Warmer climates means change it more often. The colder the better, without freezing of course.

  • This is what we have been doing as well but didn't think about dating them and changing them out after a period of time. Thanks for sharing ;) c

  • What you do is save diet 2 liter containers they have no sugar then you just use bleach as you did. Store them date them after 2 years you dont drink them but you can use them for washing that way you are not over working yourself also save water in anything you can you will use it drinking or sanitation. I have plenty water in 55 gallon drums they are $10 each from coke I will fill all my barrels tomorrow I am fearful our watersupply might be compromized with fallout.

  • @MrDarkside247-You tube wont let me post the bottle manufacturer website - Just google pactech plastics.

  • Filtered tap water may be good for storage. The water will still contain the .5% parts per million foride. Good for keeping bacteria from growing. Cycle the water ever year or so. Just my thoughts.

  • Over time *

  • Don't those type of plastic containers start breaking down as soon as their seal is broken releasing a chemical into the water?

  • @MrDarkside247 - I have researched these bottles - these Hawaiian punch bottles are made by pac-tech plastics. They are a class 1 recycle item and after reading the description I believe they are made just for the purpose I am using them for. I will post a link. The plastic itself is not like a traditional milk carton that breaks down real quick. These containers are made for food and re-usable. Thanks

  • Is this tap water? Great video by the way,

  • @drivepro - Just plain tap water. Note: The area where I live has had health issues with water in the past. Unfortunately we the public don't find out about it until it's way too late.

  • Are you familiar with Pool Shock to make bleach? A 10 dollar box will treat 64,000 gallons of water. Do research to make sure the brand in your area doesn't contain any bad chemicals.

  • @StreetLegendsUT - Yup sure do. Thanks though. I have a few boxes in storage right now. I didn't think to post that since I just use the bottle that I keep for my purposes. I don't make my own now, just off the shelf bleach works for what I'm doing.

    Thanks for the advice.

  • If you are storing water you know to already be "good" I think you are adding too much bleach.

    -TEW

  • @theeastwatch - You may be right. I add just under a 1/4 tsp just because it may be a whole year before I can get back to it. That said, letting the water breathe gets rid of the bleach on it's own. On the next batch I will cut that in half and test my results. Thanks On a second note... I have city water so who knows whats in it. LOL

  • Great idea, awesome Idea

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo - Thanks!
