Rivers got schooled. He got Zero percent of his talking points across because Rogers so skillfully played away from the conventional talking points of gay activists and masterfully used evangelical doublespeak against his opponent to disarm him. Notice how Rivers made a point of specifying that Warren was a national leader of the "white" evangelical community. Sounds like Rivers is a wannabe looking to fill a position.

Eugene Rivers must have been prepped by Sean Hannity. Rick Warren is a religious right figure whos figured out a new strategy to move into a Democratic era and still hold influence. He freely admitted to a reporter from the Wall Street Journal that the only difference between him and James Dobson is a matter of tone. Warren has produced no results in Africa against AIDS or poverty. His "peace programs" are fundraising and recruitment vehicles for the churches that hes planning in Africa.
