Humour is important. It's a well-known fact that dictators have no sense of humour. And many more politicians with secret dictator-like tendencies are sorely lacking in this quality too. Obama has humour, which means he has the ability to see things from a different angle, to call things into question, including himself and his own ideas if necessary.

Bush can't be a dictator in this country, for sure, but he's as close as humanly possible to being one, and the people behind the scenes are trying to chip away at the barriers that protect this country from such a disaster. I'm sure humor can help people with judgment of character in most cases, but I'm not entirely certain that humor alone counts as a way to determine whether a person is a good candidate. History repeats itself, remember.
