Thank you for posting this beautiful song. I have searched exactly 5 years to find it based on just a few lyrics I remembered from the end of the song where she talks!
I used to LOVE this song... so smooth. It shows a different side of Patti's vocal style and it caught/kept my interest. This many years later, I still love it. There are quite a few "mellow" gems she's had on cds/albums over the years -worth listening to all of them. One of my "spicy" underrated faves is "Land of the Living", a duet with another female artist whose name escapes me at present.
This is one of Patti's under appreciated Gem's!! This song is so Strong lyrically! I love you for singing this song my Ms Patti...This is Straight Killa!!! Brings back so many Great Memories of a very special Love that recently transitioned. I Miss You RWP!!! This post is Awesome...Thanks Labelle4everyoung64
patti has 4 sisters barbara, jackie and vivian, her blood sisters all died of cancer. Her fourth sister is her half sister from her fathers relationship after he divorced from patti's mother, her name is monica and she is still living..... so 3 in heaven and 1 still kicking.
Do you have the rest of this album? I think it was from 1983 and It may contain On My Own with Michael McDonald. Especially these songs: Living Double - Where I Wanna Be - Shy - What Can I Do For You - If You Don't Know Me By Now
she has 3 sisters(Vivian, Barbara, & Jackie), all whom have died of cancer before the age of 44, according to Patti's memoir DON'T BLOCK THE BLESSINGS, all 4 of which are very beautiful.
Actually altogether there's (Vivian, Barbara, Jackie) and her father had 3 more kids after he divorced Patti's mom, but all her full blood sisters are dead, but her half siblings live in Georgia. If I'm not mistaken.
Patti had 3 sisters for sure and 1 brother is not mistaken. None of her sisters are living anymore and all died from cancer before turning 50. Which is why she didn't think she would make it past that age for years.
She had 3 sisters. None are living, God rest their souls.
