  • The people of Berlin need to learn how to party and feel the groove of a real concert! The audience seems a little out of their element here! Oh well...maybe if they started singing "Du Hast" or something, THEN they would start to feel something.

  • Honestly Jay Z is a great rapper/hip-hop producer and making great beats, but he seems to think if he turns up on a song he makes it better. He should do what Dre does - make more of his own songs and rely less on samples, covers etc. Ok not blaming him for being on this U2 track but all his other stuff, honestly he's no Dr Dre!

  • N. 1

  • shit crowd do this back in Ireland and the place would be jumping.

  • @0oPadmano0 2 fucking right lad, u2 are ledgends , most people dont even know this song is about BLOODY SUNDAY IN DERRY..

  • @0oPadmano0 too right lad, u2 are ledgends and most people dont even know that BLOODY SUNDAY IN DERRY is an actual event which took place!!!!!!!

  • think that performance was a bit all over the place.

  • adam clayton it looks like your dream has come true. God bless U2, you're the best band on earth

  • Good work Bono nice way to have Jigga....Nigga ruin your classic song

  • Biggest Rock band alive... biggest rapper alive...

  • u2 sempre u2

  • Great camera work. Fair play to ya! x

  • very very good

  • when people cheer, you could barely hear the edges "solo"..........

  • 2 freemasons illuminati members = evil....

  • jesus christ, was this shot from your camera!

  • hey, black guy,get the fuck away from the gods!

  • Jay-Z shouldn't be on the sharing the stage with U2.

  • okay.. piss off with jay zee, get a better crowd, get a BIGGER crowd, get a better place, that's a u2 concert I'd pay big bucks for

  • I like u2 better :)

  • @lVlack Doesn't everybody? Jay-Z sucks & U2 is one of the best bands of all time.

  • @KleWdSide agree.

  • no blacks no irish were on signs in london not so long ago, look at them now

  • If Jay-Z did a rap in the song "I Still Haven't found What I'm Looking For" on top of Bruce Springsteen and U2 singing it, I'd call myself complete and die happy.

  • was that a jay-z freestyle or from what song are his lyrics?

  • 35 people eat shreddies

  • the clapping threw this song off lol

  • jay z destroyed the song

  • throw jay z off the stage and the whole gig would be much better.....

  • Oh ok, I saw your page. But why Jay-Z?

  • everyones fucking moaning about jay z when infact this song is about when innocent civilians were shot in derry during the 70's-stop moaning and get the message of the song

  • .. i got the feeling they were freezing there..

  • Wow! Makes for a good story, from selling dope in America's public housing to rappin' at such historical landmark and joined by the world's greatest band. "Got 99 problems, but a #$%ch ain't one"!

  • Jay shouldnt touch that song in fairness. And I'm a huge Jay-Z fan.

  • My favourite band and favourite rapper.. great collab! and if you dont like jay go to the version without him.

  • jay-z's a devil worshipper

  • @Lauzon12 what makes you think that?

  • @someguymanthingness he is just read some of his lyrics..talks about it alot the rock he throws up is a capstone or the all seeing eye... ocult symbols

  • it was good until.... 2:57.

  • Ron and Andrea Reinfeld/Pals greetings from Holland Sylvia and Ron.

  • trops bon MERCI

  • i love how cool larry is even when all hes doin is just grabbing another drum stick. that man is just ice cool ! these lads make me prouder to be irish

  • damn, calm down guys :P

  • what song is jay z rapping from?

  • will jayz fuck off and write his own his songs instead being in every good song

  • @TheGERMANschnitzel Clearly you don't know anything about Jay at all. So continue to be blatantly ignorant.

  • @xEsaul what ever all i know is this is the secound song i love being destroyed because of him

  • @TheGERMANschnitzel You're still ignorant. Bono and Jay-Z are friends. Bono asked him to do this. It's not like Jay-Z did a song on his own that he ruined. Also, Jay-Z respects all styles of music. So maybe you should learn a bit more about him, instead of being ignorant.

  • @xEsaul jesus christ you dont need to get bitchy what i said was my opinion and you should respect that instead of calling me ignorant and its not just u2 jayz is in a 30 secounds to mars song hurricane which is a fantastic song until you hear jayz

  • @TheGERMANschnitzel Ignorance is ignorance no matter how you look at it.

  • @TheGERMANschnitzel where did you hear hurricane with jay-z? i know kanye west appeared on it, but jay?

  • @izzyp08 your right i thought it was him :/

  • i love U2 and Jay Z but as seperate artists. this combination isnt very good.nice attempt

  • corny joke of the day: robin williams and joe camel unite.

  • Jay Z's flow can fit into most genres

  • love it 15% at NOBAGSGREEN

  • Best Rapper Alive!

  • @Igoziinho fuck that jayz suck ass

  • @Igoziinho I totally agree. Bono is the best rapper alive. he was the one rapping here, right?.... right?

  • @Igoziinho 50 cent is the best ;D

  • this song is a diss to Germany hahah this makes it hilarious fuck the Germans they completely backed up Hitler besides choice few

  • @officialrome How is the song a diss to Germany? It's about Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland.

  • @officialrome fuck you they didnt i admitt a thew did but by the time every one knew what he wanted to do it was to late and if you oposed hitler or even if you didnt hiel him you were killed next time think before you speak any way its about brittish soildars killing inacent irish civilians

  • la chair de poule me vient connaissant l' endroit pour y etre venu plusieurs fois trop bon !

  • 20 years no wall. Great gig for such a celebration.

  • quite cringworthy - most "rap artists" do sound like they`re about 15 years old, so when you put them on stage with real artists like U2 it does kind of show them up like the amateurs they are

  • not a hip hop listener, and U2 is OK, but really the only reason i've watched this video about 10 times is jay-z, great flow, without him this is just a neutral U2 performance...

  • Awkward. I had to look away.

  • I like how Jay-Z moves from 4:50 to 4:55 :D

  • It was a good video till 2:55... :-( I think U2 changed their style absolutely in last years...But nothing can remain the same and everything has to mix...

  • not good at all...........

  • Jay-z ? really ?

  • Jay-z being on stage with U2 really exposes Hip Hop/Rap for what it is: Performing spoken rhymes (usually of a juvenile nature) while the real talent -- musicians and singers -- do the "heavy lifting" and carry the show.

  • @JohnnyTRex99 im not a big rap fan either but there concerts are bigger there lost of moving on stage and crowd interaction and there alot more to rap then you think

  • great collab

  • when does jay z come in?

  • what the hell... 1:25 larry loses or breaks a stick, recovers nicely, but then at 1:29 he misses a cymbal hit and yet we hear one lol. I guess it's the backing drum track

  • What a shit gig!! Rebuild the wall, and put those idiots on stage inside it!!

  • r u fucking kidding me right now!!!!!!!! jay z sucks

  • Jay-z Killed The Song

  • ohhh yahh <3

  • Ron en andrea we loved you

  • It gives me the shivers.

  • I'm mostly a rap fan, and you don't see me saying "Jay-Z's a sellout, he's working with U2, screw rock music" but leave it to the rock fans to complain about it. This was a good performance from U2 & Jay-Z!

  • the rapping could have been a bit more subltle, but it was still good, it gets the point across both great artists, it all depends on your preferences though i suppose

  • Two completely different types of music.....one good, the other should not even be considered music....PERIOD.

  • @yuraXyuraXpro Which would that be?, both are legends in my ears...

  • did bono just try to rap?! lol

love bono but rapping is nothing for him!

  • U2 WILL PLAY WITH ANYBODY.I AGREE SELLOUTS.

  • fuckin sellouts

  • i like adam's fur coat

  • name one group of any generation that have been stayed together for so long?don't forget the stones had have members pass away or leave the group, also have had solo careers.there is not one who been together longer than u2.

  • Here is what I think. U2 are musicians. Bono the greatest rock singer of all time. The Edge created his own sound and can still solo as well as jimmy hendrix. Adam and Larry one of the most underrated rhythm sections of all time and deserve a top 5 spot. U2 as a band are without a doubt the most diverse and greatest of all time. Jay z def one of the best at what he does, but its a shame that he can stand on the same stage as BONO. Jay z ur not a musician.

  • @BonoWeCanBeOne agree u2 are great musicians, but the greatest singer of all time, um, no!! edge is great, rhythm section great, but again, best of all time, um, no!! they do, bono especially, great humanitarian good, i hope they keep rocking for a long time. but bests, gotta go back, to clapton, stevie ray, hendrix, i know they're oler than dirt, but come on! each generation has greats, look at bbking singing with clapton, sanatana with rob thomas, it's all good and it just keeps morphing

  • @BonoWeCanBeOne "jay z ur not a musician"..really? are you really that DUMB or were you born yesterday? U2 is a wonderful band, couple of great songs by them on my ipod. As a hip hop fan, I love them more for their philanthropic activities than otherwise, but they're not the greatest. Aerosmith, Beatles, AC/DC, and Rolling stone will fight for the top spot. People of different genres generally feel the emotion and melody of their songs.

  • @BonoWeCanBeOne EDGE WILL NEVER BE IN THE SAME BOOK AS JIMI.YOUR RIGHT JAY Z YOUR NOT A MUSICIAN,BUT A THIEF OF MUSIC, YES.CREATE YOUR OWN,JAY Z.THIS GUY DOES NOT BELONG ON THE STAGE WITH U2.SAD!YOU WILL PLAY WITH ANYBODY,WHY?

  • is there a place I can get the lyrics to both of the raps of Bono and Jay-Z?

  • It's called a mash up, for all you sensitive dribblers out there.

    Muscle up.

  • bono cant dance

  • Wow, Jay- Z's contribution to that song was tremendous. I don't know how Bono ever managed to sing it on his own for 27 years without his help.

  • Comment removed

  • They raped bobs song

  • WOW SAU GAIL!!!! JAY-Z!!!!! fuckkkk!!

  • This is so lame. JZ kills the song I love so much!

  • religion sparks contoversy music speaks

  • I'm just an orthodox U2 fan, u know.. Please, just stick with the guitar, bass, drums and passionate rock singing, there's no need to add anything else!

  • Love it at @1:22 when Larry drops a drum stick and then oh so causally picks up a new one... Sounds like he didn't even miss a beat. Larry Rocks!

  • jay z and u2 sound good together. ha, also in stranded.

  • Was Bono rapping at the end? LOL.

  • @wewewahid Its Shows That You Don't Know A Thing About The Illuminati

  • when jay z comes on, its absolutely horrific, this is not a good collaboration at all. its pathetic, this great song from the 80s needs to stand alone.

  • I am upset about Jay-Z being the support act for the Australian shows coming up soon. U2 are one of my favourite bands but I will not be paying hard earned money to hear some rapper from the hood ruin U2's best songs.

  • @fortitude78 its the other way around for me. I want to see Jay Z but will have to sit through U2. I respect them but there just not my type of music. Still .. it will hopefully be a good show

  • all went quiet went Jay-Z comes on hahah, wont be like that in NZ yayaa

  • It's more like U2 is doing the leechin' into rap and everything else they didn't grow up on, not Jay-Z leechin' them. And this comes from a long time U2 fan. Don't hate on Jay-Z because you think he's ruining U2. Bono and Co. are the ones who pull this stuff because they want to be on everyone's I-pod--whether white suburban teen, classic rocker, or black ghetto kid. The fan base they have isn't enough for them. So they go for rappers now to help them out with that. Simple, really.

  • @Teetee33 How about they are GREAT friends and always love to colaborate in music together??? Both Jay Z and Bono agreed to do music together regardless of fan base..they are good friends and either way, thats what musicians do..they get together and create MUSIC...neither Jay z nor U2 need a broader fan base for they both sell out concerts, they do it cause they want to..we should all just enjoy two different worlds of music in the same stage !

  • @abelesa84 Er...let me explain myself. I have no issue with U2 teaming up with Jay-Z. My concern is the caliber of comments slamming Jay-Z because he dares to besmirch the U2 rock reputation in the eyes of many of their fans, here and on Facebook. They act as if he is the one who has invaded the purity of U2 with rap, when in fact Bono is obsessed with American music and black American music/politics in particular, has been from the start. That's what I meant in with my comment. Cheers.

  • @Teetee33 I totally disagree with the comments slamming Jay Z for he is one of the greats in the Hip Hop/rap genres.. people who are obsessed with Bono and U2 in this matter need to understand that indeed it was Bono who suggested a great colaboration as this one. Bono is a music (all around) lover and yes he is much into politics mostly in regards the poverty/Aids issue. Its silly for people 2 critisize either or when they did it to show how 2 worlds of music can come 2gether in1 stage :) xo

  • @abelesa84 but if you have the slightest sense of taste or judgement, you will notice how fucking misplaced Jay-z is in this song, i don't even like either Jay-Z or U2 or Bono for that matter,

And then when Jay-Z are done killing U2, he jumps right at Bob Marley

"get up stand up, stand up for your rights" Bob Marley lyrics.

  • @mukkohaha First of all I DONT judge...Seems to me that u dont know real music even if its staring u in the face.2nd WHO CARES they did this 2gether cause they were in the same town as they will do some more when they continue their tours down under. 3rd so what if he uses Bob Marleys lyrics!! dont like it, watch a diff. video. meanwhile I LOVE BOTH JAY Z and U2 especially BONO, they make this for their fans NOT for people who dislikes them ..while u wine they sell out concerts ! get it ? 1

  • @mukkohaha Bono ad libs other artist's songs lyrics all the time fool. Nothing new here. He does it when it fits into the song's theme. This might not be their best performance of this song, but it's still powerful and symbolic given the location. Also, the Jay-Z part ok in my book. Not the greatest combo but it's still Jay-Z who is amazing. By the way, everyone knows "get up stand up" as being Bob Marley's lyrics. No need to point that out jackass.

  • @anacrobat89 Jay-Z is amazing ? Bob marley turned in his grave during this performance. since Bob marley was Amazing, haha Jay-Z is small potatoes compared to a legend like him.

  • @abelesa84 I'm obsessed with U2 and Bono but I didn't mind this collab, I quite liked it to be honest :)

  • @ParanahBoy I agree :) Im a HUGE U2 fan and I love how they collaborate with different artists :)

  • @abelesa84 Same here, they've worked with other famous people that I love like: Frank Sinatra and B.B King

  • This song holds a place in every irishmans heart

  • People...calm down! Why can't you just appreciate a band doing something a little differently? When you're dusting out your attic and you find your old copy of U2's "War," the original track in all its glory will still be there. What U2 do now will never ruin what they've done in the past. They're not trying to replace the old song. They're just being creative, trying to get you to see things in a new way, to show that their song's truth survives. It's more than just "staying hip."

  • cool hair bono !

  • Who the fcuk is JZ? Bono doesnt need him,,

  • Yeah man what the fuck is he doing there? he totally killed the song.

  • hey the little Irish man (Bono) is doing a little rap at 4:19

  • Jay-Z is ok, i respect him for not being like other rappers, but this is U2's big song........ I think he shouldnt have been there, there was no reasone for him to be there..... He didnt really add to the song at all

  • @TheLindzaaa He performs his own version of the song at his own shows sometimes, and then its really good, believe me i've seen it live

  • this makes me uncomfortable.lately bonos attempts to "stay hip" are laughable.i feel sorry for jz,dragged out to make bono look good then cut off mid rap as bono realises he's stealing his thunder.to top it off bono literally pushes him out of the way to perform his faux rap.all this is coming from a huge u2 fan.an cath dubh is a u2 song.

  • i hate how people discriminate rap and stereotype it.

Jay-Z is a good rapper, yeah his new stuff may be more mainstream than his old, but he does talk about real things in his lyrics, its not all money, bitches hoes.

before you stereotype rap atleast try do some research into real underground rap, then you will see the amount of rappers who do disagree with mainstream and commercial success, and prefer genious lyrics and talk about true stuff.

  • @BreakinMotionJonny U're fuckin right! God damn finally I found someone who thinks hip-hop music ain't all bout money, fast cars, hoes, bling bling and shit. Hip-Hop is more than this...

  • @WillSmithN1Fan it's true though, the amount of people who do stereotype it really annoy me. and the fact is there normally older and should be much wiser, i'm only 16, but they should know what the music industry is like before they put that on any rapper.

  • @BreakinMotionJonny I agree there is some good rap and bad rap music. Rap is a type of music. Personally i don't like most rap music or the rap in this song. but people don't see its part of music to.

  • @BreakinMotionJonny Nicely puy man fuck all this stereotyping bullshit, Jay is a genius, like most rappers are. Theres more said in hip hop songs than most other genres

  • i cant belive it!!

  • Are British people THAT welcome in Germany? Its nice to know the country has turned around so much since the war.

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho u2 aren't british!

  • @kilomeister well what ever lol

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho there irish sir

  • This is the biggest load of bollocks I have ever seen, Bono you are a fucking sell out.

  • @someonecalledlaura how is bono a sell out. hes irish u spastic!

  • @mfaos You seem to be the spastic my friend.

  • ego fest!!!!!

  • Jay-Z sucks. What was beyonce thinking? What was Bono thinking??

  • Absolutely flabbergasted at U2's ineptitude at allowing a rap star to ruin this their hallmark, legendary song. A disgrace U2, they should be ashamed. Awful to hear and see. Bono and co. are a sellout.

  • so tem viado ai em baixo

  • as much as i love U2 ..i hate jay-z...this is one of the lowest points in U2 career i must say!!!

  • "Jay Z is in the house". What house?

  • WTF is wrong with U2. This is a Disgrace

  • Actually, there are 2 different "Bloody Sundays"

1)1920 - British troops shot at innocent civilians at a Gaelic Football match at Croke Park stadium, Dublin in response to IRA attacks earlier in the day. 14 killed, dozens injured.

    2) 1972 -Catholics went on a civil rights march in Derry, Northern Ireland in response to their lack of civil rights (gerrymandering etc). Despite there being no IRA presence at all, British troops opened fire on the innocent marchers. 14 killed, many more injured

  • @theirishneilers also the bombing of eniskillen which bono referred to on the rattle and hum video

  • sorry but this is a joke....no...it's shit actually!!!

  • seriously, why he just have to go on ruining every good songs.

  • what was jay z's? purpose?

  • hova!

  • Close but no........England did not "...come ober to Northern Island and kill them in war...", English troops manning a garrison fired upon an unarmed crowd of protesters killing 13 and wounding more - tensions were obviously high in a period of great unrest, civilians experiencing violence from troops, soldiers being bombed and fired upon anywhere in the towns. Another of history's lessons that shouldn't be forgotten!

  • Well said.

  • @captnerd it wasnt at protesters it was at a GAA match

  • @captnerd it wasnt protesters is was people playin and watching a GAA match

  • @captnerd Here fucko what garrison were the britsh army manning? They came in and shot upon and civil rights march killing 13 and injuring more. They used bullets to disperse a group of young men throwing rocks and then carried on into teh march dont know where the fuck you live or what religion you are but thats not what happened and if you tell us that history should nt be forgotten then you should get it right in the first place

  • 30.01.1972 in Derry, i know that.

  • @jmeenan1

Yea, Bloody Sunday (the day innocence died) was an incident on 30 January 1972,

  • Bloody sunday was the day England and Ireland were silly gooses and didn't play nice.
