@brownbigb yeah its called natural talent. by ear or by watching, and youu practice and eventually u will be able. have you ever heard of self taught your a retard
Came home tonight after watching a trio in Sausalito play cuban music. The guitar player had a well, he had a total of nine string divided into three sets of three...the way a twelve string is divided into six sets of two. The sound was immediately gorgeous, and very evocative. Gotta find out where he gets this guitar. wonderful sound.
"...The brilliant Los Angeles guitarist and instructor Jean-Marc Belkadi has, as he's done with so many guitar approaches, refined dozens of cool ways to use pentatonics. One thing he likes his students to explore is stringskipping lines such as Ex. 12. And, as shown in Ex. 13, Belkadi often handles string skips the smart, convenient, hybrid way—by plucking the higher string with the picking hands middle finger..." page 93, March 09 Guitar Player Issue
That was awesome. Dude my shoulders automatically start moving when I hear you play. Can someone tell me what that rhythm is called or what inspired the piece? Much oblige..
Check Jean Marc Belkadi's LATEST ARTICLE in the January 09 GUITAR PLAYER Magazine issue page 112: "Just when you think you've seen every possible tapping lick imaginable, Los Angeles guitar coach par excellence, Jean Marc Belkadi ..."
Hi Jean, I just ordered your MI Progressive Tapping Licks Book/CD. I thought I would see if there is anything on youtube but there is only your slapping + Funk (which are great btw) Can you please post some tapping vids, showing your stuff?
Pretty damn good, it would be alot better if you just kinda mentioned what chords your're playing, I wouldn't expect em all cause you're playing alot of fancy stuff but whatever, it's your lesson. thanks
Self Taught is just a Phrase. Self Discovery is more like it!

@KevinJbwkz you can not teach something you don't know. therefore teaching yourself is out of the question.

KevinJbwkz 1 year ago
@KevinJbwkz you can learn by yourself, but self taught is an oxymoron, as you have to know something to teach it. kind of like you minus the oxy.

is jazz and cuban music the same thing? just with a small difference in the right hand rythm?
danztal 3 years ago
