1 question(maybe you guys alredy say that in the video but i dont speak english very well^^): if i am on a viper in the upper space area and i want to return on galactica, should i move in the lower space area and than return in the hangar(using 2 turns) OR can i discard one card and return immediatly on board? tnx and great video:)
@enriknaight For your movement step, you can discard a skill card to go to either ship from anywhere on the board (even in a viper, anywhere in space!).
@KaijudoMaster11 We definitely hope to! We normally focus on base games, but eventually I would like to do expansion tutorials (In the past I sort of implied I would do a separate show for just that, but I never had the time to follow through with it, sadly).
@tarkonis Each 'You Are a Cylon' loyalty card has an action that reveals you as a cylon and does something bad to the humans (for example, one makes them lose 1 Morale); in this case, I just figured it was time to reveal, as it was getting toward the late game and there wasn't exactly a whole lot of doubt on who the cylon was anyway ;)
Just picked this game up and was dreading having to explain the rules to 5 other people. This is definitely a better overview than I would have been able to give, and probably faster as well. Thanks!
@patbrownnn You're welcome! And that is exactly the reason why we do these videos.
To be honest, these videos halfly started as a joke between me and Jason, sick and tired of explaining how to play games to our friends all the time. Hahaha!
Great vid guys, helped a lot. My dudes are coming around for our 1st game and your vid helped tidy up some of the less clear game mechanics. Defo be watching more, cheers, may the dice be with you
Sorry. one more question :P when someone gets sent to sickbay, how long do they stay there? because to get out of the brig you need to do a skill check while for sickbay, it doesn't say when or how to get out.
@thatPUNKdude Not a worry. Ask as many as you like! You are not restricted in your movement in sickbay, only restricted in the number of skill cards you gain when you start your turn in there. Thus, you can move out of sickbay freely once your turn comes, but you get crud for skill cards.
A popular tactic to avoid the negative effect of Sick Bay though, is to have someone else give the character in sick bay an executive order. They get out before their turn and get all their cards next time!
Thanks for your response. I have another question I forgot to ask. Once the centurions board the ship, does their token move up one space each time a heavy raider is activated?
@thatPUNKdude that's correct! Each time the "Heavy Raiders Active" icon shows up, each centurion moves up one step. This could potentially mean that a stack of them come at you at once, which is particularly dangerous for the humans.
Thanks so much for this. I just have one question: in the guidebook, it says that you can activate a single viper any number of times in one turn. Does this mean that I can keep attacking the cylons over and over with a single viper in one turn? And if so, what happens when I roll a number that does no damage to a raider? Do I just keep attacking or what? Sorry, I'm just a little confused about this part.
@thatPUNKdude Hey there. So there are 3 things you can do when you acitivate a Viper - Launch, Move, Attack. When the rulebook says you can activate the same viper multiple times, you are sill limited by the number of activations you have.
In example, the "Command" location allows you to activate 2 unmanned vipers, giving you 2 activations. If 1 viper was in a space with a raider, you could use those 2 activations to attack the raider twice, with the same viper.
@2GASCB Know how you feel. The Pegasus ones are more awesome! Though I have to say, that the Core Game Basestars were good to put the Damage Tokens on it :P
@genkykaia Yeah, with the plastic Base Stars from the Pegasus expansions, you kind of have to balance them on the prongs... I've been using the extra bases from the character standees (as you only ever need 7 of them at a time) to hold up the damage tokens nearby sometimes, but often even that's too much work.
@panderson1985 Actually, yes! This is valid. Alternatively you could not choose a character already in the Brig to the Brig, or a character already in Sick Bay to Sick Bay.
I bought this game, but dont have anyone around to teach me how to play it. I have to learn it and then teach it to my wife and friends. I appreciate this video. It's a very complex game!

I noticed you used the Basestars from the Pegasus Expansion. Was it intentional? :)

@2GASCB hey thanks for the reply!
I just checked the Battlestar Galactica FAQs and Errata recently and they've changed that rule (as it didn't really make sense!)
I'll send you the link in case you're interested!
panderson1985 6 months ago
@panderson1985 Thanks for the link!
I was referring to an older errata apparently! Even at the time I posted I didn't think that made a lot of sense and I guess FFG agreed!
Eventually I'm glad your question was solved though ;)
