Psychetruth: Lately, I have been thinking about how I don't like people and I need to make an effort to be a friendly person. Then I thought, "How did I get this way?". The answer is I cannot tolerate people who use drugs and alcohol, have sex with each other on the job, make up stories, spread lies and rumers and steal. What happened to all the good people? What you say sounds good, but it's hard to be kind to someone you know is stoned on a CDS and that someone is your boss.
The only question I have is, WHY??? WHY does everyone ALWAYS have to copy??? Why can't ppl do things on their own sometimes? Be independent? not always react and respond as other ppl do??
and I'm realizing this now that I work at this store.
This certain day, I was working with someone I don't particularily get along with, and I was bummed about having to work with her. My first 2 customers...2!!! Were REALLY rude. I was wondering what I was doing wrong??
Then I realized I was probably putting out a kegative vibe with my mindframe of not wanting to be there with that girl. My next customer went better...and it only progressed from there.
She is a love. God bless her. I love the way she is so easily articulate . It is from her experience teaching that she can just ramble so beautifully. She is a story teller... her love comes so gracefully. Thank you for the fine example.
My biggest concern is making friends right now. I'm virtually building myselfback from being catatonic. (Anxiety to the poin of delusion) and I'm so lost. You said, "if you want people to like you, like people." I know in a way it's as simple as that: like people. But I really have no sense of a personality and I don't know where to start. I've been watchin psyhetruth all night...
She sort of moved away temporarily. She should be back sometimes in late summer and I should be able to start making videos with her again. She is really fun to make videos with. :)
I heard somewhere that we should treat people not as we want to be treated but as they want to be treated because it honours them as people. We do not all want the same things, I have no desire to be a snake handler for example. However, I do feel there is an almost universal human desire for respect. It is how we demonstrate each person that respect that can be very different for different people.
isn't there any better way than to think 'treat others like you want them to treat you'? I cannot really see the difference between your negative and positive way of seeing it..In both of cases, don't you act for selfish reasons? It's feels like giving someone candy so they will play with you.
Of course it is a way to bring peace and quiet, but no love or true life. Not when you act on your own best interest's behalf all the time?
In my first field experience, my cooperating teacher was the only teacher in the school who was able to manage the disruptive classroom. The school holds troubled students. He treated them as equals and respect, that was the difference. The Golden Rule is the best attitude to teach with and to sail through life with.
I mean no disrespect and I really like psychetruth I do but If you were ugly this boy probly would not respond the same to you. You might be good at what you do but Im sure your looks have something to do with a Grad 8 boy giving you flowers.
if you aren't this mythical ancient witch creature, how are you so intimately familiar with this creature's social existence? I would like to believe that one's attitude has more importance than one's physical appearance.
Nice video this is so true, too often people forget about respect. You will see this in the workplace often. Bosses will take a command and control approach, not allowing the workers to give input and just basically showing a lack of respect and trust of the workers. This can impact job satisfaction and productivity. Thank You for sharing this.

Just listen to what she says, again and again, until you get the message. Thanks for asking, by the way!

When he was screaming at other students for being noisy, do you really think that's being nice?
No, he just turned his bullying to your side...
Students are forced to be in school rooms, how about starting to respect that most of them don't even want to be there?
By the way, your first video was awesome.

The rest of this vid and the general idea was also great. I've been notice the same lately since I learned how to really be nice to people.

I agree. if you were a 1 tooth, raged hair, socks pull up to your knees, with a mole on your nose, i don't think the boy would treat u the same

Great video. Of course the Golden Rule doesn't work when it comes to masochists, but the point is still there. :)
