Hoy a los 75 años en un hospital de la ciudad de Nueva York, fallece “Mr. Mo” “El hijo de Teresa”, el maestro Jimmy Sabater, quien venía presentando complicaciones de salud en los últimos meses
love this song - one of my favorite tunes! thanks so much for posing it... brings back so many good and fun memories from Back in the day when life was about dancing (actually, it still is for me)!
I have been searching for this song since I left NJ/NY area and joined the service in 77. I am glad that I am finally able to enjoy once again. Thank you!
Bob Blank's first production, this is an absolute classic that [as far as I can see] didn't even get a mention at the time in Vince Aletti's excellent Disco Files which was published in USA '74-'78 and recently republished in a book ISBN 978-0-9561896-0-8
As much as I love this song, the disco version doesn't cut for me too much. I also loved and still do the original by Joe Cuba (RIP) but at 2:17 of this Disco version kicks ass. That is a funky break. That's my kind of disco, Funky and hard.
@latinsoulrecords WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MY FATHER WAS THE ONE THAT SANG THIS SONG, NOT JOE, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, BUTTA YEA IT WAS MY DAD,,,THANK YOU !!!
DappaKappa: Your wedding must have been a blast. I agree, very classy for disco, but I'm sure you would not have chosen it, if you felt otherwise. This is one of my all time favorites. Brings back nice memories. Thanks for posting.
Yes! I did! In all it's glory! The tall ships, Navy, Coast Guard, NYFD fire boats spraying out red, white and blue water as they entered the harbour, NYPD boats, and all of the private craft as well. It was a sight to behold. It was amazing!

this is good, but I like the slow ballad version Jimmy did back in the 60's with the Joe Cuba Band. it was hot and sexy!
