  • R.I.P. JIMMY

  • Almost broke my neck to this tune, wicked!!! :-)

  • R.I.P. Mister Sabater .....

  • Hoy a los 75 años en un hospital de la ciudad de Nueva York, fallece “Mr. Mo” “El hijo de Teresa”, el maestro Jimmy Sabater, quien venía presentando complicaciones de salud en los últimos meses

  • (Q.E.P.D. Jimmy Sabater 1.936-2012)

  • this is good, but I like the slow ballad version Jimmy did back in the 60's with the Joe Cuba Band. it was hot and sexy!

  • Yes Mr. Mann. This song stands the test of time. Y O Y have they stopped making music like this? Sigh.

  • never heard such a wah wah guitar after 2.15!!

  • love this song - one of my favorite tunes! thanks so much for posing it... brings back so many good and fun memories from Back in the day when life was about dancing (actually, it still is for me)!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhh mannnnnnnnnnnnn back into time! went human were human not clones.

  • I caught the tail end of Disco and it was more my older brother's era but this was one of my favorites...

  • SMOKIN CLASSIC!

  • Nice version, very "I wanna get up and hustle" music.

  • Dam never heard this disco version. Its nice, but give me the original.

  • :48

  • Love this song; thanks for sharing with us.

  • Perfect! House Music all night long

  • pure Hustle genius !!!

  • A good disco record to do the hustle with.

  • I have been searching for this song since I left NJ/NY area and joined the service in 77. I am glad that I am finally able to enjoy once again. Thank you!

  • this is Disco !

  • Bob Blank's first production, this is an absolute classic that [as far as I can see] didn't even get a mention at the time in Vince Aletti's excellent Disco Files which was published in USA '74-'78 and recently republished in a book ISBN 978-0-9561896-0-8

  • As much as I love this song, the disco version doesn't cut for me too much. I also loved and still do the original by Joe Cuba (RIP) but at 2:17 of this Disco version kicks ass. That is a funky break. That's my kind of disco, Funky and hard.

  • @latinsoulrecords WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MY FATHER WAS THE ONE THAT SANG THIS SONG, NOT JOE, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, BUTTA YEA IT WAS MY DAD,,,THANK YOU !!!

  • opus88888: The One and Only!

DappaKappa: Your wedding must have been a blast. I agree, very classy for disco, but I'm sure you would not have chosen it, if you felt otherwise. This is one of my all time favorites. Brings back nice memories. Thanks for posting.

  • Is this the latin Jimmy Sabater?

  • Holy Crap!

That was our "Wedding Song". Fantastically "swooony. The classiest disco recording ever made.

  • WOW! Talk about a flash-back, and not to mention the fact that I've been trying to track down this version for years. THANK YOU!

It truly brings back great memories. 1976- the year of the Bicentenial. In NYC!

  • My sentiments, exactly!

  • @LICHBKLYN did you get to see the replicas of the old ships in the hudson river that day?

  • @gypsydancer64

Yes! I did! In all it's glory! The tall ships, Navy, Coast Guard, NYFD fire boats spraying out red, white and blue water as they entered the harbour, NYPD boats, and all of the private craft as well. It was a sight to behold. It was amazing!

  • @LICHBKLYN1 I was on 26th street by the water watching too. :)

  • @gypsydancer64 A great day for NYC despite all it's serious problems at that time. I was at a barbecue in Canarsie, of all places, that day.

  • Very good disco song !!!

  • Nice to see this recording was appreciated.

    Bobby Marin
