  • Is it possible to do that from a 2 story building?

  • @seltrix19 yeah jump from the plane :))

  • How high can you do this? Please reply!!

  • @karltorres2 try it from empire state building [[ see if u die means its to high ]]

  • I roll on my left shoulder but I'm right handed. How awesome am I!

  • Ahhh... Great times with this video. reminds me of when I first got into Freerunning and Parkour. I couldnt flip at all since I had to wait for my trampoline to arrive so I started with simple ground tricks instead.

  • Well i guess its because you rollon your head and its different than the shoulder roll

  • Hey epic sometimes in your demos you roll on a narrow platform it shows in your 2011 freerunning video mix up and it takes me 3-4 feet just to roll

  • get set, everybody roll!

  • zzzz...my knee wound because i dont know down there have stones..,hahhaha

  • when ever i go for roof jumps and i roll i do it from right shoulder to left hip but it still hurts my spine. plz reply

  • @DRpackOpunch just because u can roll doesn't mean that you can suddenly jump off roofs, like anything else u have to "gradually" work on it (emphasis on gradually) because otherwise u end up getting those effects...practice and starting with low drops help ur back develop and become used to doing this movement

  • its funny how he just leaves lol

  • wait. is your name ACTUALLY Epic?

  • @fireviper7 His name is Kyle Mendoza, but people just call him how they see him (epic) lol

  • you did the backflip video 2 minutes long and you spent 3:21 for this shit ?

  • @raul4pk obviously beginners don't learn how to backflip in 2 minutes, those are meant for advanced traceurs. this, is for beginners.

  • BARREL ROLL!

  • Would it actually works when jump from the eifeltower? ;o

  • @LilRunnerxD are you retarded?

  • @LilRunnerxD I hope you're kidding man

  • cooler than what i was doing at 14-15.

  • jump and ukeemi.. i might be able to do it, from a lower place though. your tutorials are rly good, thnx :)

  • everybody roll too late

  • My spine always hits the floor when i do it

  • @MOSK8T Try to roll over your shoulder and to the side more. If you still roll over your spine, then check out Ryan Doyle's tutorial on the roll.

  • one day I rolled and thought I had it down tried it on the cement...... ouch

  • Was this your first tutorial ? (just wondering)

  • i'm confused do u roll with your head between your hands or not, coz Ryen Doyle (check him out) says u never roll with your head between your hands. PLZ -PLZ REPLY THIS IS MY LIFE I'M DEALING WITH

  • Roll so you can absorb the impact or it will hurt a lot.

  • will your head look sideways when you roll? and where exactly on the shoulder does the floor hit?

  • @bloodshutt the point of the PK roll is that its different to the gymnastic roll, the pk roll SAFES the head, thats why it goes to the side so you do not hit it, dont hit the the head thats important so dont literally look sideways, just move the head to the side!

and its the scapular thats supposed to hit the ground, not the shoulder :P the very first part of the scapular, if you understand me, because if you hit with the shoulder it will hurt from a high impact :P

    good luck :D

  • You should make "epic - stay positive" writebands if you don't already have them...

  • i tried 2 do this and i hurt my sholuder blade how should j avoid this plz reply!!!

  • @mwmw2bo jst take the pain like a man

  • the rolls are wrong dude.. the knees are bent too much and no forward momentum.. fail.

  • pas male

  • i jump with height of 5-6 meters this is boring :|

  • ...attempt 1: *jump off moderately high edge*

*forget everything the moment I'm airborne*

*land hard* I think I need to practice smaller...

  • Thanx a ton this'll help me on my rolls I've always had trouble with those. Hopefully this will help

  • Where's a good place to practice this?

  • I thought you were supposed to roll over your spine, okay nice to know that thx for the tutorial really helped :D

  • @epic1 hey guys i srsly cant do the roll rite... :/, plz hlep, go check my videos on my channel plz plz hlep, i wana get my basics ready. plz hlep i wud appreciate it a LOT. plz plz help. i tend to hurt my back. And myself.

  • I can roll on my bed but not on the floor?

    Do anyone know why?

    is it fear?

  • @Sunstrike900 4 sure fear, try rolling on a mattress on the floor then put your mattress outside on the grass and then one blanket on the ground then on the grass etc and eventually on bricks. a trampoline will also help, thats how i learned. video your roll and see if it looks right coz maybe youre rolling wrong and that could hurt on the ground and thats what your afraid of.

  • Hey epic if you're right handed do you have to roll on your right shoulder?

  • hey epic.... just went to indiana beach today and practiced this..... but when I roll I can never roll the right way.... I always roll in a diagnle roll and kept on running into things....... any tips on how to roll forward better....... please reply!!!!!

  • thanks for your tutorial! it helped alot of people (not for me, since i don have guts to do that) or might have saved someone life! imagine u're trapped in a building on fire and you can just jump down from the 2nd floor...

  • there are kids watching you! D=

  • Is it normal to let your elbow hit the ground? Plz reply

  • @12ibrar that shouldn't happen... tuck it in.

  • @Epic1 are u gonna roll via head, shoulder and back???

  • @Epic1

    CHEERS :)

  • @12ibrar that happend to me the first time too

  • @12ibrar dont worry its fine for your elbow to hit the ground thats the way I do it. It offers the best transition to the shoulder for less impact. :D

  • @12ibrar oh and epic used his elbow in this vid, guess he never noticed....

  • I'm a right, but i roll from my left shoulder to right hip. There's no problem, right?

  • I always hurt my shoulder.... even when doing it on grass....som how to do it on concrete

  • The Guy In The White Top is a Parrot

  • How to do safe rool on concrete?

  • i'm trying to get into parkour and this is one thing i really wanted to learn but you're the first person i've seen on youtube who actually explains hows to roll, i tried this after watching the video from a small obsitcle, but i rolled wrong and hit my head on the ground during the roll, i'm writing this in small pain.

  • It will rain ! LOL

  • do you have to roll forward or sideways?

  • Great example for the kids behind you

  • Thanks, the first time I tried ( without this video clip ) I dislocated my shoulder but now with this video I can roll properly

  • i was doing this naturally and i didnt know it was properly

  • Tks that really helped

  • lol i learned this when i was 15 , saturdays 2 class of scholl , i was running climbing the wall and doing this

  • THAT WAS EPIC.

  • i dnt know why but im right handed but i roll over my left shoulder

  • I think if your right handed your left leg hose in front

  • I need the tatoiral because I'm going to be trying to learn how to free run.

  • Dudee.

    that's so basic....

I don't know why people need a tutorial in rolling.

  • so if i am rolling off of my right arm do i land with my left foot ahead of my right or the other way around, or both kind of centered?

  • Just jumped off a 7'6" foot fence and did a perfect jump and roll. :P

  • Dude, you are the fucking man. Besides your positive attitude which literally rubs off on whoever is watching your videos, I really appreciate how clear and concise your vids are. The instructions are solid. You make this look way too easy bro. :)

  • thanks man. nice.

  • your like the best i watch almost all your vids that i need to learn about so thx alot for the vids

  • rolls hurst my shoulder , wat shud i do to improve ?

  • man how to land and make it minimal hurt to my back?

  • my friend did the improper roll..like way way improper..so he jumped of a roof ,fell straight down, landed on his whole foot, rolled on his spine,& hit his head, shoulder, knees, and ankles on cement.......imagine that...havent cn him for 2 weeks , not even in school....hes probebly trying to master it right now...

  • just posted a video of my attempts at jumping and rolling plz rate?

  • is it weird that im right handed but i roll off of my left shoulder to my right hip

  • pretty sure white t-shirt and black pants hit his head when he did that lol

  • I hurt my back when don't do it on grass

  • thanks this helped

  • i ran and jumped relly fast yet didnt roll and so hurt my back lol why did my lower back hurt and not my feet lol

  • @mikeyconlon if you were leaning forward while you hit lots the pressure goes more to your lower back but your feet still should of take some of the weight

  • I know how to do the roll, but I can't get myself to do it on grass or concrete. It's too hard and I feel like I'm going to break my spine. I'm restricted to doing it on my carpet for now. Haha. Any advice?

  • lol a noobs i mean a beginners way is to....

  • This is good tut. I like doing it from building to building... (jump roll run jump roll etc.)

Plus I know the prop way to roll cuz I take BJJ classes n that's a warm up thing to do...

    Anyways keep up the work

  • thanks man, ur vids are awesome and really helpful :)

  • i hav done this from a high place. i cudnt do it for a month because i had a fractured toe and now i seem to be scared to do it !!! do u hav anything that might help ??

  • my friend tried jumping off this like 5 foot rock drop into grass and go into a roll

but he litteraly went straight into a roll like landed on his shoulder luckily he didn't get hurt

  • @TheDGKSKATE and thats exactly why you start with low obstacles first so you can get your roll down.

  • @Epic1 i can't get over the fact of how good oyu are. love your videos and trickset are so cool! keep going

  • seems like you do parkour

  • i've always done roll jumps but i get kind of hurt on my shoulder, im gonna try it this way with the extended arm. im ready to jump steeper then my bro haha

  • lol thats like the basics of aikido, i still dont get why i cant go strait into a roll

  • cool lol

  • really helped

    thx man

  • im pretty ok with this.. but just curious as to if im doing it right...

What part of your foot do you land on?

  • lets all jump off roofs now :P

good tutorial, i was wondering how to do this properly, i know alot of times when i jump off and land i hurt may ankles. so when you land do you land on the balls of your feet and do like a little spring into the roll, or do your heels touch the ground?

  • when you land your jumping momentum forward as you land will make you automatically bounce a bit so don't fight it just let it help you roll if you don't get my idea just watch more parkour/free running videos and you will get what im saying

  • @amARFeniX U land on ur toes

  • @amARFeniX The whole foot touch the ground. But first the heels, then the balls of the feet.

  • @amARFeniX @HalfJawArbiter166 dude.. no no no no no! never land heels first, always land balls of feet because when u land heels first the shock goes straight thru ur heel up into ur shin n thru ur knees. When u land on the balls of ur feet, ur feet act as an initial shock absorbed letting ur calf muscles take the impat rather than ur bones. Also remember to train ur calf and shin muscles. ALWAYS LAND BALLS FIRST

  • @maverick040690 I just have to say BALLS FIRST made me laugh. But another hand you are entirely right.

  • @maverick040690 thats what she said lol

  • @maverick040690 land balls first...that doesn't sounds good jeje

anyway know what yo mean :)

  • @maverick040690

wouldnt landing on your BALLS hurt... if you know what i mean ;)

  • @amARFeniX If you listen closely someone mentions the balls of your toes...?

  • did he die?

  • @Jezt1990 i believe so

  • I am not interested at learning parkour, BUT land and roll will be a great skill to have. Thanks :)

  • where are some good parkour places in stl i live in the city

  • TRICKSET!

  • You are a good teacher.

    Carry on.

  • DUDE!!!!! you totally helped me. i live in the country and its hard to find things to jump off of. i climb my tree in my front yard. you helped me so so so so so so much!!!!!!!!! can you post a good warm up video! that would be great, thxs

  • you need be careful, in the landing your legs dont be pass of the 90º , this is the recomendation of the military style

  • Nice videos man, there very helpful, and to those aksing how to jump off thing wihtout getting hurt, i think u can only go so high befor it hurts no matter how u land, lol

  • ''get out of there epic''1:51 hahaha

    its good Tutorial man

  • lol i miss spelled high XD

  • hey how hi can you drop with out geting hirt??

  • It varies on person to person

  • LoL its the same as the Taijutsu Roll in Ninjutsu XD

  • now video!

    i like to free run!

but when i land from something high, it hurts my feet alot so im scared to go higher. am i landing it wrong?

  • r u landing on the balls of your feet or flat footed also depends on how high you're talkin bout

  • jumped off my shed after that last post about ten feet you're awesome epic

  • this is a great tutorial i learned it and perfected it a day im doing on cement and everything no pain or stress at all and jumping form about 6 feet and a little more my one question is i push off with my hand that i dont curl cause that made it so i didnt feel anything is this good or am i doing it wrong

  • "get out of there epic"1:50

  • damned !

parkour saved my fren's life !

he was rock climbing at sch when the ropes break, surprisingly he safe rolled from a height of abt 2 storeys !

    onli broke a fingernail -.-

  • WHOA.

  • any body know any good free running locations in Sussex NJ

  • i dont think theres much in jersey haha, i dont think i live to far from there and nothing around here

  • oh definately theres spots. the key to parkour is *finding* places to trick off. like - "hey.. this is just a normal structure, but im gonna do some crazy trick off it."

im sure theres 100s of spots out there, just gotta find em =)

  • that is SOOO TRUE... the other day, there was this little, 3ft wall... and just me n 3 others were doing soo many things, most ppl see like 3 things, sit, lean against, set things on it. But we were doing kong, dash, the epic, flips, gainers, handstands, and much more.

  • @Epic1

    cool congratulations

  • @CalebTheGuitarist no it aint ur talking abought freerunning parkour is the fastest and most efficient way frome point a to point b freerunning is tricking (fastest and coolest way frome point a to point b)

  • nice thnxs guys this is the first roll tutorial that told me to jump out further.

  • ddd damn sweet shit man i subed

  • My idols♥

  • thanks bro. big help!

  • Hey Epic, everytime I roll on concrete and such, I pretty near kill my spine or hip, usually hip. I only learned to roll from youtube a few years ago and if you have any advice, it would help.

  • whats your advice.

  • learn to roll right and rolling on concrete takes some getting used to, if it hurts ur boens, prob. cuz ur skinny, most muscle massed traceurs can roll on concrete cuz their muscles cushion the roll... but it's about technique. Figure out the right technique and ur rolls will come smoother.

  • @Epic1 I have the same problem. Like there is one spot on my shoulder, and one spot in the middle of my spine that hurt when i roll on concrete. Does it hurt less the more you do it lol? or do you have any tips that helps solve that issue?

  • @Epic1 i have a prob like when i roll i cant do it acros (right shoulder 2 the left lower side) i roll and i turn straigt down i tryed every diffrent roll ive seen some were to dificult and there are no gyms to go and practice in

  • @TeamChaosPk i had the same issue, but i learned if i threw off my roll by a few centimeters, roll a lil more on my shoulder and across the spine at a lower point, then it still was uncomfortable but the pain was reasonable... :)

  • @skycodefilms Haha, well that's what I eventually had to do, though I've gotten more muscle on my by back since 2 years ago when I commented, it still hurts a bit during rolls. I find if I offset my rolls like you said, it works much better. The only ache that remain after rolls is on the lower back, but I can handle it. Haha.

  • @TeamChaosPk whoa i didnt notice it was 2 years ago haha... yeah i just started parkour, about 3 months ago so im still finding my own styles and trying to find better/less painful ways to do things like rolling... im gunna release my first parkour video in feb. of 2011:) by then i should have enough to show a few developing skills:)

  • @skycodefilms Haha yeah, and alright well just keep trying stuff. I would actually suggest putting videos out sooner than that. Our first video was terrible we had only been doing it for a month or two, but we got creative criticism and learned from it, the populace of Youtube really helps in developing. If you put a video out, people will watch and suggest stuff, it makes learning much easier, anyways, keep training! :D

  • @TeamChaosPk my only problem is when i used to release guitar vids, id get thousands of comments on how much i suck.. and i dont wanna deal with all the hate comments.. their just annoying ya know?

  • epic, how do u roll though when there is a building a foot in front of where u landed..i couldnt roll today and i think i seriously hurt my foot.. i make the stupid people look smart

  • hahaha u dont! u only leap down an area where u know u can continue the flow by running.... dunno why u'd roll into a wall ahahah.

  • if you don't know how to do this from the get go of starting, you shouldn't be doing parkour in my opinion...

  • ty ima try this

  • Thank you so much for putting this on, I've wanted to know how to do this forever

    TRICKset Rules!!!

  • they teach you this rolltechnieak in many marchal arts classes i took karatie and kongfu they boath tought me this.

  • good thing, that's where I learned it, n it helps.

  • no way!!! sorry jst board

  • Never would have though that if you push further out, it gives you a better parabolic arc and makes it easy to drop into a break-fall. The mechanics seem rather simple really...just a matter of not landing straight and tucking into a nice ball for your break-fall.

Now I gotta practice my break-falls more lol. So rusty...T_T

  • hey TRiCKset...

thanks for showing me those "MOVES"

we have a team parkour ourself...

    Team Talon...

we will post some videos on youtube

    maybe this summer

    because were all fresmen high!!!

  • hey bro.. this is Mustafa from TRICKset.. keep training till the summer.. keep at it.. and you will get real good.. dont quit.. but be safe.. cant wait to catch your videos.. let me know on my channel once theyre out :D

  • yah welp i huv myspace...

i go to youtube alot but not really addicted to it... thanks dude... yep the Team Talon will practice... we are going to have a parkour festival on our school, the last week before the school ends

    Vista Murrieta High...

    yah... so thanks again dude...
