  • george and willy the onley one leaft..

  • See you on May 15th 2012 in Halifax Nova Scotia,, Im so excited i cant wait!!!!!

  • All you can do is hope for some more legends but nobody can fill their shoes

  • Dam sure no jackass liberal sumbitch gonna do it. Us rebels can't stand this moron obama, we want a man who dont lie to fill our shoes. No singers like the possum artound anymore, but Trace Adkins is damn good.

  • true song , beautiful song!!

  • None of them will ever be replaced but Brad Paisley is doing his damndest to try and give them proper respect. I'd argue of all genres of American music Country music does the best job of staying true to their roots. Most younger artists understand they are not trying to one-up any of the old greats, but honor them. This is country music!

  • Answer to the uploader. No body!

  • Ain't nobody gonna fill them shoe's.....

  • Won't see another like him!

  • anyone can fill a pair of shoes, but it's the walk in them that can never be portrayed.

  • Country has went Hollywood .We have Alan Jackson, Hank, Toby, George Strait. Not a lot of good young country

  • Who's gonna fill their shoes ?.. Hmmm... Alan Jackson is working hard on it.

  • god bless the boys from Cricket. most have move on.

  • this is sad.. nobody and i mean nobody could fill them shoes.. everybody is to arrogant and hateful or singin songs about all there boyfriends (taylor boohoo)

  • It was a different world we grew up in. The Hank Thompsons, and Hank Snows and Jim and Jesse and rest have no equals yet. Maybe one day some will come along knowing what's important and singing an honest heart.

  • ii am 19, & i love george jones, thanks too my daddy :)

  • I saw old Jones in concert Friday gone. He's losing his voice but he's still giving it his all! It breaks my heart to think the last of the greats may not be around too much longer. Nobody will ever fill his shoes!

  • I love this video. Solid country gold, boys and girls. I wish they still made country like this.

  • Man I still love the old stuff!!

  • George Jones we love your music we live in Newfoundland Canada and wish you could come sing for all us newfie my husband is your bigges fan

  • This video made me smile :) , and I also felt kinda sad, many of the old legends are gone..

  • It won't happen....no offense to the country singers today but NO ONE will ever fill their shoes :( I love them all....all the old "outlaws" but Waylon will always be #1....(my opinion ;))

  • IF THIS DONT SEND CHILL BUMPS DONE YOUR SPINE THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YA!

  • ad the privilage to meet Mr. George Jones. It was one of the best experiences of my life life. He's one of the greatest artists. He's very down to earth and kind. Truely a great man :)

  • To be a country music singer, for the most part, you have to have lived what you are singing. That is what separates,George Jones, from the rest and makes him a true legend. Do the rest make you happy? Can they make you cry? Or are they just filling time while you are in your car listing to the radio on the way home? No one is gonna fill his shoes for a long time. Thank you George for all the good times.

  • No one gonna fill there shoe's becuase trashville is full of pretty boy fags and madonna want be women

  • The sad thing is once Mr Jones is gone no one will ever fill his shoes.

  • @countrycool12 ain't that the cold hard truth

  • @countrycool12 Couldn't agree more.

  • sad to see all those empty shoes today

  • THIS WAS MY DADS FAVORITE SONG AND SINGER

  • Great song; thank you for sharing this! George Jones did a fine job with this song!

  • In my opinion the best country song ever recorded

  • YOU DID GEORGE!!! You're the best of the BEST :)

  • There are shoes that can never be filled. George Jones shoes are a pair of those, along with Patsy Kline and Hank Williams, Roy Clark, and Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl. Country entertainers. The new country can't hold the light for them to run by.

  • i hope you will always stand up for the ones you gave an oath to protect. but you don't. You take more than you are giving. If united states of america was a woman you left it wrong. Too many bills to be paid, in debt, with too many children. You use history as an excuse to justify yourself.

  • Just aint the same anymore thanks to all the big wigs that wanted to fill there pockets. To many people getting records deals that dont even no country music let alone try to sing it.

  • id kill for that guitar . . .

  • Nobody can ever fill their shoes anymore. Our country has been on a downward slope for the last few tears and it is so damn PC that good old country music is scorned by them. For me, I can't wait for us to take back America and hopefully retirn to Possum and the rest of the good ole boys so we can really be free again.

  • Jamey Johnson....

  • the answer is jason aldean talor swift justin beiber hah not

  • Wonderful video.

  • My Gramma loved George, everytime I stayed over for a week or two, he is all she would play. She passed away on April 26th 2 days after her 86th birthday, I love u gramma n wish u could have seen videos like this. Miss U

  • God this is such a great video, and how true,i bet in all the U.S. you"ll maybe find no more than 6 of these types of places that still have any history like this!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • makes me so sad, does anybody think the taylor swifts, carrie underwoods, and rascal flatts in country today are gonna fill thier shoes? its an insult to even call them country

  • @jasonerling agreed

  • There will never be another possum..The one and only..

  • I also grow up listening to these classic songs and im 32 years old now and i still love it. :)

  • country music has changed so much. and george jones. sings it so good that you nobody will never be able to fill their shoes.

  • this is sad most singers now a days could care less if their fans wanted a signature. but these old singers would spend hours talking with their fans. i remember meeting Mr.Jones we talked for over an hour and i sang with him at a charity banquet, he gave me one of his guitars which he signed and im only 15. why are the new singers all stuck up and snobish

  • ahhhhh dadgum my night just got better!!!!!!!

  • I'd love to tour that gas station! Great song...

  • No better Singer has ever walked this great earth than George Jones. My grandma went to a concert of his in 2007. She was 75 and its the only concert she's ever been to. God bless you George for making so many fans happy. We love you!

  • they should make a movie about this i think it would be a good 1

  • wow! Love this song, made me cry...

  • ...those shoes will never be filled because country ain't country anymore......too much hollywood has gotten into Nashville...:(

  • @1nannysue how true it is ,and i have asked many people and like ice in a drink no one cares till its gone.

  • Who remembers where they were when the news of Elvis's death came out?

  • @dukebluedevil1able I wasn't born yet but my mom told me where she was she was in the house and the news flash came on and she ran out and told my grandma she said she couldn't believe he went so soon

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • i am 34 and still have to wipe tears from my eyes when i hear this song. the greats cannot be replaced because todays generation only cares about making money. these artists the possum speaks of only sang their songs because they truely enjoyed doing it and making fans happy while doing it. it was never about the money. todays "music" is nothing more than a paycheck to all but a handful of the men and women singing and that in itself is sad. i love you george and hope you never leave us in tears

  • @barnesjerry77 sir i am 22 an di agree with.

i myself a guitar player and a songwriter u may not see it in my vids but i just want to write music that hits ppl in the heart i wan tto writwe great songs that make ppl feel somthing and when i read ur comment i felt like crying cuz it ssoo true theresfew ppl out there that do it for the art of music and helping ppl feel and thats what i wanna write iw anna write songs like this and so mean others

  • so sad but true.the great ones are gone and the new ones are pop stars

  • This is the most wonderful music. The new country I don't care for, but the legends are just legends.

  • From a 15 year old who grew up on all classic country. I apologize for my generations so called music.

  • Lord there all turning over in there graves with the crap we call music these days.... no one can fill there shoes....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cannot ever fill the shoes ...just got to respect them

  • Nobody will fill any of these cat's shoes and thats the truth. Today's country has nothing on those days

  • what I wonder is who's gonna fill George's shoes?

  • @krossbone780 His daughter, Georgette, is doing a pretty good job of keeping the family tradition. Ck out Georgette Jones (Lennon).

  • country music will never be like this again, its only played on the radio very seldom, i miss ir!

  • Nice with nostalgia but their shoes will be filled. New great talents in country will always come.

  • @MrRazorblade999 nope, not like the old ones.

  • @rbreton59 People said the same in the 50s, 60s and 70s...

  • what a video

  • this brings me back to a better time as a child. didnt appreciate it then miss the hell out of it now this is solid gold!!!!

  • I've been getting tears in my eyes since the first time I ever saw this video back in 1985. Todays Country music is nothing like the old stuff

  • This is probably one of the best videos I've been blessed to watch on Youtube, great music and many great allusions, if only they still made them this way.

  • nobody will take the place of Bocephus or waylon or johnny or willie or any of the kings of country

  • @THEBUH81 you got that right they cant have their shoes filled only new artists come along.there is no replacing any of them

  • This song is just as relevant today beit with Reba, Alan Jackson, Alabama, George Strait, and Company fading into the sunset. Who's gonna fill their shoes? Rascal Flatts? Taylor Swift? Enough said.

  • i'm an 18 year old girl that grew up on these people! i wouldn't change it for the world <3 i love the Possum <3

  • @tvfd3574 ....I know what ya mean! Im 28, This music has been a huge part of my life! Honestly, and I dont mean any unsults to anybody, but to me, this is true music! Sure some of the new stuff is great, but this is amazing!

  • @tvfd3574 you might be my dream girl haha im 20 and grew up these fellas as well

  • @tvfd3574 i am 13 years old and i love this music to wouldnt change it for the world eather

  • @tvfd3574 This song is true because Whos Going To Fill There Shoes when the Famous Counrty Stars are gone. I also got a nother point to make what about the Elderly Gentalman and this gastation he's got a point to all of the Mom and Pop gastation are going out of Business do to the Interstates beasily cutting off the back roads of the old time town so the why there go under. It is true at what i am saying because both my parents drive 18 wheeler and they away see this happing. 10-4 over and out

  • @tvfd3574 The greatest voice in country music! Most country songs today have no heart or soul. I live in west virginia-I'm 54 years old. I wrote and recorded a song for my fiance that I would love to hear George do. You can find it on facebook on my prifile page. My name is Otis Porter-It's also on myspace-If you choose to check it out please disregard the comment "the greatest song ever"-My fiance posted that-she's a tad biased.

  • @tvfd3574 im a 23 year old guy i cant make a day with out humming 16 tons lol i also think Ms. Patsy Cline was a far better singer then that swift chick .......

  • @tvfd3574

    You just made my day

  • makes me wanna cry.great song and so damn true

  • boy if my wife and mother was living they would never get off youtube.....great job for ur memories.....

  • with the way the world is today, everyone needs to listen to this song and hear it.. maybe then this world would be a better place.. we need to go back where we a country standing tall....

  • sitting here drunker than hell brings back whole lot of memories

  • @hatchclaret1977 you can spell better than most drunks :-)

  • NOBODY!!!!!

  • My dad was in a C & W band back in the '40s and has played with some of the best of the old guys. Little Jimmy Dickens stands out as one of them. The point is that I grew up with this music. It just brings a tear to my eye remembering.

  • No one yet!

  • Can't mistake that voice for any one else.

  • They don't make music like this anymore.

  • 11 people need their shoes filled with concrete for a long swim with the fishes!!

  • @jasonNstacey dumb comment

  • @jasonNstacey fuck you i agree

  • Here's a question I might have asked it before & if I do please forgive me but who's going to fill George's shoes when he passes on?

  • well many of these great singers are gone and in this day and time aint any one gonna fill their shoes this soul was lost years ago

  • Who is gonna fill George's shoes?

  • love you george jones. you are the best.i love this song one of youre best

  • My grandfather tricked George Jones security Guy,and managed to get on Georges Tour Bus,and talked to George for half an hour and got about 5 autographed pics with George Jones,at my Grandpas funeral in 2008,they played this song,It kinda tears me up

  • Who's gonna fill his shoes? Can't be done. Thanks for posting.

  • vidio is not plying

  • This song reminds me so much of my old Dad, who passes a few years ago, he loved George Jones so Much - Thanks for the download.

  • It's looking as though no one is going to fill the shoes of the great ones that have passed on. We will just have to rely on youtube and other music sites to keep the music alive for us. I used to make the Opry at least once a year. I no longer have the desire to go.

  • @ResspektTheMusic Check these guys out. They aint Trashville pop and they do play good Red Dirt/Texas country. Eli Young Band, Bart Crow Band, Reckless Kelly, Micky and the Motorcars, Roger Creager, Randy Rogers, Kevin Fowler, Dale Watson, Charlie Robison, Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis, AARON WATSON, Trent Wilmon, Cory Morrow, Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed(more rockish), Highspeed Hayride, Cooder Graw, and lots of others. Look up Texas country music chart and there will be lots of names.

  • @Stabbr8 lets add Joe Ely,Stoney Larue,Guy Clark,Jerry Jeff WALKER

  • @dirtfan91468 yeah I just ran out of characters to put anymore. Theres Ray Wylie Hubbard, Wade Bowen, Jason Boland and the straglers, Kyle Park, Robert Earl Keen, Gary P Nunn, Josh Abbott, Rich O'Toole, Bleu Edmonson, and of course there are others. I think you get the idea though...

  • @foxnewsfanify I agree George Strait is a good singer, George Jones is great. For today's music you got Garth Brooks (who is just like George Strait and the others who stuck to the traditional style of country that it started on) I really miss those days when the radio stations played nothing but the original country, I'm 15 and I know of Garth Brooks (2 albums), Clint Black(1 album), Alabama(3 albums), Willie Nelson(2 albums), George Jones(1album), George Strait(5 albums), etc....

  • @ResspektTheMusic I agree with you, I really enjoyed listening to the traditional kind of country, wish I was from the era of George Jones and all the other great singers from back then, and I'm only 15.

  • This band has been with me for 25 years or more, and through my parents divorce, and a father-n-law who died of cancer, I've always understood your songs. Lived them really. I won't be able to let you go so easy! Love You George, you have been like a father to me. Happy Belated Birthday!

  • Semper Fi!

  • Good country nuff said.

  • this song was made for all the children who never had a pair shoes in there life it breaks my heart by hearing this song now and days many children have no parents that can afford new pair of shoes now and days many kids have been abuse its sad to see them suffer with abusive parents ):

  • @MrDiegotorrez No... Not at all... Did you even listen to it??

  • best song ever

  • One of the all time greats of country music. I grew up listening to so much of the classic country. I love it to this day. My 15 year old daughter was raised listening to it as well, and she still listens to some of it on her own. Nothin' like the classics.

  • Makes ya get all chocked up...I'm a sucker for this shit, CUZ IT'S REAL. George Strait is real, but what else we got today in country music? Brooks an Dunn maybe; whach Strait's Artist of the Decade concert and you'll enjoy it, but you'll end it wondering who's gonna fil HIS shoes. Answer. Nobody. Semper Fi.

  • new country isnt country its a bunch of pretty people produced by the corp media they auto tune and edit into somthing they think we want to here so sad i have to resort to my computer to hear music real music

  • @antiseen - I agree. This "New Country" is a bunch of crap.

  • THE ANSWER IS NO ONE!!!! Because today's "Country Music" is SHIT!!!!

  • @antiseenfan333 now listen hear assmunh the new country is not shit some of it isnt worth a fuck but there are still songs that make u cry and make u belive but no one will ever fill the shoes of the late greats i agreee but u have to give credit where its due

  • @berrymike100 Sorry but I don't agree.

  • @antiseenfan333 and y is that

  • Who's gonna fill their shoes?

It sure the fuck isnt any of the pop bubble gum country shit musicians of today!

There isnt anyone thats true country enough left to fill those country Legends shoes - its really sad!!

Hank 3, Dale Watson , Marty Stuart, Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson - they are the only ones that could maybe fill their shoes.

  • this video is an insperation to me

  • I Love George Jones, just another Great Country Singer we never get to hear from anymore, THANKS TO THE DJs on the radio!!!!!! I Love you George!!!!

  • NO ONE will EVER be able to fill this man's shoes !!! Untouchable

  • The closest thing we have to Country Music today is George Strait or Alan Jackson. Close.

  • @SgtBooker44 true, Keith Urban aint country enough he is only country at the start of the songs when he plays banjo :D

  • @SgtBooker44 Which isn't saying a whole lot. They're just as much part of that "rock country/MTV" era as what we have now. Garth Brooks, Strait and Twain made their intentions clear. They're all about the money. That's why you barely see their pampered asses hit a stage anymore. Littleless tour. Loretta, Merle, Jones, Price, Pride, Willie and even Wanda Jackson still tour and their in their 70's/80's.

  • @clydebarrow34 They tour because they need the money too. I've seen Strait 3 times in Sacramento since 2008, Alan Jackson twice. Brooks retired to be with his family. The casino Garth is performing at in Vegas is making a killing, Garth gets $25 a ticket, just like he used to. They all do it for the money

  • Two words. No one

  • love these ol guys but they are a bit arrogant to think they can;t be replaced. there was only one unreplacable man. his name was Jesus Christ.

  • Hard to believe almost all of the legends from this video are long gone now like elvis lefty elvis buddy holly jerry lee and many more.

  • Love this classic country music.

  • whos gonna fill their shoes love them

  • WHO'S GONNA FILL THEIR SHOES? THEIR SHOES WILL NEVER BE FILLED-GOD BLESS ALL THOSE GUYS BACK IN THE 50S 60S 70S--NO WAY--THEY CANT BE FILLED--100 STARS FOR SHARING---JOHN

  • So many greats are just waitin...as long as they don't pay attention to Nashville. Singin stupid skip rope songs..

    Third grade shit...

    George, Merle....Hey Loretta,

Don't think I will see George singing about football .;..Love YAH George

    Lowell Lee Morse

  • the country of today will never fill those shoes but some come close like Alan Jackson ,George Strait and Clint black and a very few others.

  • Comment removed

  • Just listening this takes me back to my childhood.

  • I wonder how many of you claim to love the greats of country music sat down and laughed when SNL made fun of them? You guys need to realize our culture is the only one not protected and is being stripped from you in front of your very eyes. There is a war on Christians and the idiot Christians are letting it happen.

  • The answer to Whose gonna fill their shoes is No one....There is no one else like them, I am just glad we have their music to go on

  • @deannanurse This is the correct answer.

  • this song is kickass

  • If this doesn't give you chicken skin , you don't have a soul!!!

  • Alan Jackson, is right up there as far as modern country goes imo.

  • u can actually feel the emotion george has for all the singers friends that have passed they surely are all slowly disappearing and no matter what anyone thinks they cannot be replaced i think to truely understand it u had to have grown up through them golden times i can tell u it was wonderful i wouldnt trade it for nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you damn strait, there will be nobody like them...........

  • Love this song. Todays country has gone to hell.

  • @kwcountry1980 For the most part I agree with you

  • @kwcountry1980 Amen! You couldnt have ever said it any better!

  • @kwcountry1980 Amen brother, dont even recognize it anymore

  • George paid tribute to so many of the greats. He did it out of respect, even though the BIGGEST shoes that will NEVER be filled are his own.

  • cant find good music like you used to,

  • Country music today is made for and aimed at 13 to 15 year olds and sold by people who don't give a crap about heart and soul or provoking any feelings. Today's country music is about country "themes" like riding a tractor or that kind of childish stuff. The great countrty songs rarely ever mentioned anything about being in the country or riding a tractor or any of that stupid crap. It's sad that's lost now.

When I came up country was for Grownups not babies.

  • Like the rest of White culture, especially White southern culture, our heritage of music is being destroyed....

  • Music just dosnt sound like this anymore sucks all the greats are goin or old and its goin die with them im afraid :(
