  • i know this was for a tv show and it's amazing considering it was done in 6 days but i'm pretty sure everyone watching on youtube would love to either 1:see it converted to a surface drive with a correctly matched prop or 2:a bigger jet pump, i don't think there is any problem with the position or angle of the current propulsion, lower drive means more stress on the motor and more drag, you seem to be more of a bike guy then a boat one but hats off to a unique build, whats the gear ratio in 6th?

  • Thank you so much for your great comments, you obviously know your stuff (unlike us!!), we ran it in 6th gear, it would not even move in first !. Given the chance i would have tried to gear it down a lot more because the engine had plenty of power to pull it, In reality the engine revs far to high. But it was brilliant fun to do. Thanks again.

  • sounds like you need a bigger prop or a pitch change, also sounds like cavitatitaion on take off

  • Which river did they use in the TV programme. Was it somewhere near Bristol?

  • We filmed it in the Cumberland Basin, right in the centre of Bristol, next to the SS Great Britain.

  • Ahh, thanks. I was trying to spot something that would give the location away. I knew I recognised it, but without any shots of the bridge or the SSGB I was lost.. The show had started when I tuned in so maybe they did all that at the start of the show. Great bit of work though!

  • four weeks till you get to see this on TV, relive some of the memories! You lot are a right load of nutters :)

  • Four Weeks, I Can't Wait !!! As for being nutters, I thinks its just a cry for help ! Either that or we are just imature attention seekers, or maybe both ! Its great though !

  • yeah you can put a way bigger on there indeed

  • rpm to high, bigger screw indeed

  • you have to put on a bigger screw!!!

  • ha ha u guys r crazy. 5 stars

  • Very nice indeed. 5-stars well done...

  • Thank you very much, I really apreciate it.

We had such a great laugh doing it.

  • very nice!!! I tried something like this 2 years ago with a honda 650 nighthawk.

So i know how much problems you can have getting the power good in the water.

I used a speedboat prop and had a lot problems with air sucked in the prop.

My top speed finally was 40mph.

    It look good too!

  • I Love this!

  • Neat concept, sounds bitchin, but im not seeing much performance.

  • voll cool wiel ich auchhaben

  • yup man thats got a kick..awsome

  • Wow! love it x

  • wow yeah the sound is awesome! nice vid 5/5

  • that has got to be the best sounding surfboard in the world...

    lovin your efforts

(what about a directional extension pole like the 'boats' in cambodia)

    ps I WANT ONE

  • Thanks very much mate, and i like way you think, "extension pole" Brilliant Idea for mark 2 !!!

  • i think u need to lower the properlar rig, see how all the water shoots up behind you? ur not gettin max power there cos its distributing the engery upwards ... still thats ace.

  • Thanks very much mate i really apriciate it.

  • I'm not sure about that, the seacat fast ferrys throw up a lot as well and presumably they are "optimal"

Definitely something to experiment with though depth/angle.

    Love it!!

  • hardly a bloody surfboard is it???

  • your feckin mental! Keep up the good work ;o)

Can you pop wheelies/hang tens yet? lol

  • Thanks very much mate, really apriciate it.

  • needs a much bigger prop the engine wont last long like that! u can hear hitting the limit near the end! can you change gears?

  • You are Spot on, it definitly needs a bigger pump as the engine is completely over powered. We were running it in 6th gear the whole time. But i have to say that, 1: we did it for a TV show and JUST FOR FUN !. 2: we are NOT marine engineers and we think for a first attempt at such a stupid mix of parts, Its not a bad effort. 3: Also remember this was the first test of it and everyone would be a genius with the benefit of hindsight ! 4: It is made totaly of scrap and put together in 6 Days.

  • fair play! hope to see MKII on the web sometime soon! best of luck!

  • Thanks Mate, thats great.

  • nice:)

  • big propelor some life jackets,,and more speed of knots wat every ,,coooooooooool

  • Needs to go up a few gears

  • sorry mate, meant to give it a thumbs up - bloody sambuca, makes me go squint :o(

  • yo dude

  • this is probably the best video i've ever seen on youtube ever

  • They invisible life jackets sure come in handy when you get into trouble

  • oh please, they're surfers. do you think they need life jackets?

  • surfers dont wear life jackets because theyre connected to their board which floats. if they fell off that they would have to swim on their own, and also the enine would still be running, which is potentially dangerous.

but anyway thats a very good effort for a home made jet ski(?) or whatever you would call it lol

  • on of my fave shows, i'll route for ya!

  • Glad I don't live near those tranquil waters with you twats screaming around.

  • you sound like a grumpy old bear.

  • Its jet driven, therefor doesn't have a propeller.

  • 3 men and a boat on a one way ticket to hell...quality, the guy at the beginning is a pisser just wading along pulling his little sail boat.

  • haha nice idee but i think the power is to much for the propelor under water if they put a bigger one on it it would go much faster!

  • it doesn't have a proppeler.

  • duno about you, but i would say thats more of a speed boat than a surf board ;P

  • good

  • you need to get it out of the water..too much weight and surface....get four hydrofoils and you will be jammin"!!

  • awesome, i wish i had access to bits and pieces like you guys :( lucky

  • you fuckin nutters thats just a home made death trap power surf board boat pretty fuckin mad wouldn`t mind ago myself

  • Fantastic lol, I wish I had one of those.

  • That looks awesome fun. Not a bad attempt for a bunch of 'AMATEURS' ha ha Come on tho guys Sort the bloody Prop out. lol

  • You just cant beat the sound of a bike engine. Good work guys.

  • cool,thats so funky

  • cool, you could go on to design future boats :P

  • its not the first motorized surfboard btw.

  • amazing.can u pull a weely on that???lol

  • Thats brilliant

  • nice try. seems to me that not all of the engines power is being used as it should.

    good effort

  • mustve been cold in the lake lol

if you did film around this time

  • carnt you try a bigger propeller or somert make it set of even faster, cos i bet when it gets going it flys, nice toy u made there.

  • Pretty sure its got a jet drive so you would have to find a bigger one. Saw it in person and it was rather impressive

  • Thanks very much, I think you are right it needed a bigger jet drive as the engine could have taken lots more load, in 6th gear it would rev out and cavitate in an instant, but it was a first attempt, made out of a load of old stuff hanging around. Did you come to the filming or did you see us testing ?

  • nice loud engine sweet wish i had 1

  • one word cavitation. What a waste of power.

  • prop is all wrong

  • They are losing loads of power. You can tell from the prop angel and the spray. Amateurs!

  • You are right we are total amateurs, it was done for a TV show and we were just having a great laugh. we do not try to pretend to be pros or have any idea about jetski or boat design. We just thought it would be a great laugh, AND IT WAS .

  • Looks awesome, what TV show were you doing it for?

  • superb boys, nice bit of kit!

  • lol, how fast does that thing go?

  • Yeh surf board right stick a nose of a surfboard on a jet ski ans call ita surf board that said looks like fun .

  • Spot on mate, you know your onions !

  • Thanks very much mate, i know its a waste of a bike but we did it for TV

  • that's so cool xD

  • You can hardly class that as a surfboard more like a slimline speed boat! haha

  • great stuff lads ;-]

  • lol

  • ok, that can not be classed as a surf board. It is a cross between a boat and a jet ski. show it going down a side of a wave and then u can say it's one. Cool idea though.

  • Man thats bad ass! but did ya change gear? sounded like you was in first gear all the time?

  • Mate, the ZX9 motor had so much grunt we had it in 6th gear the whole time. the biggest prob we had was it was on the limiter most of the time

  • nice
