  • I just want to say that I hope you have found peace with your son's c-section. I had a c-section with my daughter and I planned a home VBAC with my son. I did everything right and during labor I wasn't in a hospital and my son died of cord compression. Your son is alive, that c-section saved his life. I would give anything to have my son back. I am now planning a hospital VBAC with my twins, but at the slightest hint that there is something wrong, I will immediately have a c-section...Peace 2 U

  • AWESOME.

  • BEAUTIFULL VIDEO

  • I hope you spared your boys from circumcision.

  • @acdc11209 You know it!

  • @purpleheather79  Thank you!!!!

  • Were twins hard to breastfeed?And did you breastfeed them exclusively?

  • @Sexygeiler I breastfed both of my sets exclusively. There was definitely a steeper learning curve with twins vs. a singleton. It seems that there is even less support for moms who breastfeed multiples because the assumption is that it won't work out. That's just not true. With the right information and support, it's possible to establish a good breastfeeding relationship with twins. I really recommend the books "Mothering Multiples" by Karen Gromada and "Having Twins" by Elizabeth Noble.

  • OH my goodness. This video was amazing. Thank you for sharing! I see from the previous comments that you have twin boys now too! You truly are blessed! I have a son who was born via c-section, and hubby and I want another. I am doing all the research I can on a vbac. You have inspired me. Thankyou.

  • beautiful and so encouraging. I'm hoping for a HBAC

  • Wonderful story, and beautiful children.

  • I found out at 21weeks it was twins and had a previous c-section in 2008, due date is 31st may but I feel we are close (35+3 today), and hope to have a Vbac, unfortunately nobody in Italy felt like helping me in a Hbac, here they are too scared and I'm sad about it but already the idea of having labor at home before going to a H is better than anything else...

  • Thank u for sharing your story! I loved it! Love the placenta print too!

  • Such a beautiful story! I am so happy for you! I love love love your placenta print!!!

  • Awesome.

  • Beautiful story, beautiful children and above all a beauiful restoration of your faith. Praying that I get a hba2c or at least a vba2c in hospital or at the very least a trial of labour. God bless you for sharing your story. xXx

  • truly beautiful :-)

  • Incredible! Gives me so much more faith for the upcoming birth of my twins!

  • I love the song!!! It makes the video that much more precious!!! congrats to you!!

  • Love this video. Did I see that you now also have twin boys?! Goodness. How was their birth? Congrats on a beautiful family.

  • I am so happy you got the birth experience you were searching for and the fact you got another set of twins, too! Congratulations to you and your hubby!

  • they are big birth weights for twins. congratulations

  • wonderful tale! Always remember, the right people show up at the absolute right time. I know your midwife - there is no such thing as coincidence - everything happens for a reason. Your girls are gorgeous.

  • Thank you so much for the video! You are such an inspiration for me. I had a C-section 6 month ago and I pray for a successful VBAC next time. Unfortunately here in Ukraine the majority of doctors are against VBAC, but I do hope I will find a VBAC friendly hoispital. Thank you so much. Your children are adorable!!!! Olga

  • omg! i love this song, we were actually just singing it at choir practice at my church today! all of your children are so beautiful!

  • wow... super awesome! ^_^ praise God for your story! :) im so happy for you and your family. :) may the lord continue to bless you! :D

  • you did sooo awesome!!! congratulations for never giving up! ani and mel were my midwives. they are such great midwives! i feel so blessed that they supported my vbac homebirth of our son in december 2006! Iris

  • Wunderschön!

    Das ist eines der besten Videos auf ganz YouTube.

    (Wie heißt denn das Lied, und wer ist der Interpret?)

  • @DagmarRehak translated:

    Wonderful

    That is one of the best videos on youtube.

  • That was so awesome! I'm a student midwife--love the twins. Yours is a remarkable and inspiring story.

  • Beautiful!

  • What a beautiful family you have... videos like that are incredibly inspiring; even to people like me who had relatively straight forward births one a water birth in a birth centre and another in the labour ward due to mecconium stained liquor. I'd love to have a homebirth if there is a next time... it's people like you who are an inspiration to women everywhere! Thankyou so much for sharing...

  • That was a beautifully video you have a lovely family, I am 62 and when I had my children I didn't have choices, even though the first didn't turn out the way you wanted, at least you had choices. God bless your family

  • Like you I never went into labor. I was unable to hold my daughter for 6 hours after she was born. I put my OBGYN at fault because she attempted to induce 3 days after my due date. I feel I was robbed of all of the memories of birth and the chance to be the first person to hold my daughter. I was told if I was to ever have another baby I would not be allowed to do so vaginally. Your story gives me hope that one day I will be able to have a natural child birth. God bless you and your family.

  • oh wow!! that is an amazing story!!! in 2 years i will be goin to school so i can become an OBGYN. i cant wait!!!! and your story is very touching!!!

  • Incredible and Beautiful Story!! Who doesn't love happy endings!!!

    I just found out i'm having twins, and thought now I'm going to have to find a DR, but tommorrow at my first prenatal visit w/my midwife, I'm going to discuss my options and see if I can still deliver at the birth center.

  • you still look sixteen...u go giiiirl!

  • You are so beautiful and brave! Thank you for sharing this. I show this to all of my clients (I'm a doula) and friends who think that Vback or Hbac is not possible. THANK YOU.

  • I love that Matthew named the first daughter!!!! How precious. You are an amazing woman for doing that, and proving that it can be done! Twins... after a c-section.. just beautiful.

  • your kids are beautiful!

  • 6 months after the emergency c-section done on me, due to what the hospital called stalled labor I still cry at the memories I have. I stumbled across the site ICAN a couple months ago and ran out the next month and had the ribbon tattooed on my wrist. I thought I was alone in how I felt and coped. I learned I wasn't. Thank you for sharing!

  • Amazing video!

    Your children have such beautiful names.

    I plan on having home births with my children (once i can get pregnant :)

    God Bless,

    ~~~Becky~~~
  • i'm still crying i had a emergency c section due to my fetal distress and non progression my son was born on 10/01/07 were now planning our second child and i pray that i will get to birth naturally your an insparation
  • good for you! of course you could do it! home birth = safe birth. you have lovely children and they are blessed to have parents who know the true capabilities God has given women. your story is so encouraging in this dark, discouraging time of ignorant birthing in this present day culture!
  • That was beautiful! I have had 2 succcesful VBACs and am hoping for a 3rd with my twins due in decembr. Thank you so much for sharing!
  • beautifully inspiring!
  • So great to see this, I'm pregnant with twins and hoping to have a natural birth with them. Funny enough when I watched your video, it turns out we share the same birthday, I was also born on December 30th. =)
  • You are amazing!
  • I had my youngest daughter at home also. I didn't have an ultrasound either. People seem to have a hard time grasping when you go without an ultrasound on purpose. With us it was the same thing. If at any point their had been an need for one we would have got one.
    Also I have never heard of a baby having a prolapsed cord and not needing an cesarean. That's great that it was resolved naturally. Thank you so much for sharing this. People need to see that birth can be normal.
  • Thanks for sharing this beautiful story! I have had two C-sections (first was "emergency" for "fetal distress", but I have always wondered if the fact that it was 10 p.m. influenced the doc's decision) and would dearly love the chance for HBAC, should I have another child. Thank you for pointing me to ICan!
  • What a wonderful video...thank you so much for sharing your story with us. You are a beautiful and strong and courageous woman and such an inspiration to me. I had a very traumatic emergency c-section four years ago and plan an HBAC for the next one whenever we are blessed. I'm sure I will watch this many times to keep my focus and faith!
  • WOW WOW WOW!! i have tears streaming down my face! that was gorgeous! Im so so happy for you that you had such a beautiful, calm birth!
  • Hey, I saw your camera picture (before the birth of your twins) on another inspirational birth video here on YouTube called "Natural Birth of Twins and Triplets". That's neat! Small world. Congratulations on your natural birth! You definitely earned it. You'd waited so long. You are an inspiration to me (I'm also a twin who was born three months early bia C-section, due to my mom getting an infection and my sister's water breaking). I am NOT having a C-section, if I can help it! Congrats!
  • Wow, what an inspirational Birth !
    You are the reason why I do what I do!
    (I am a Birth Doula)
    I ♥ the Placenta Print! How unique...
    I am glad you have the beautiful family you did not expect to have so fast, I am sure, congrats!
    Kelly
  • great video ..wonderful song..God bless you..one question though, did you have twins in your family ?or did it just happen?
  • No twins in our family... just "got lucky." And interestingly enough, I have another set of identical twins now- 6 month old boys! Lightning can strike twice!
  • Wow thats awsome!I hope to have multiples one day soon.. I have a singlton due in september...Be Blessed!
  • @purpleheather79 wow, that must have taken you by surprise! did their birth go as smoothly as Leila and Sarah's?
  • @purpleheather79 wwell then, you got the genes for it..I mean..the whole twins thing has to start in one person(woman)..and then continue.
  • wow what a beautiful video. I had a HBAC in 2008 and am now pregnant again planning another HBAC. thanks for sharing.
  • awe-inspiring. thank you so much for sharing :) God bless you and your beautiful children
  • Nice video who sang this song?
  • "Majesty" by Delirious
  • The band is called "Delirious" and the song is called "Majesty"  They are from the UK.
  • Yours is one of the most touching stories of strength and faith....my 4 c-sections began with twins, and I hope my 6th child now arrives at home. Thanks for the hope you give so many!!!
  • beautiful
  • wow I dont know how u carried 15 pounds of babies in that small bodie. you are great. I plan to have a vbac2c in april, wish me luck. great story you all are beautifull.
  • How adorable are they! What a great story! And what an awesome song to tell it with! Congratulations! Very inspiring! I hope to have a VBAC with my next one(s). I'm now seriously considering a HBAC! Thanks for posting this!
  • That was AMAZING!
  • oh how inspirational. May 16th,2007 I had a cesarean with my first child. They told me the baby would be too big and his shoulders could get stuck! I also had high blood pressure. Today is my due date for my second child and I am having a VBAC, if it so pleases the Lord. I was hunting birthing videos. There is a lot of junk, sex and stuff! I said, Okay Lord show me something good and I found your video. What a blessing!!
  • On December 1st and December 2nd my twin girls were born at home. Thanks for sharing this video,they are the inspiration I needed to keep insisting on home birth for my girls.
  • i am due in 3 days and would like to have a home birth and would like to thank you for your insperation
  • A twin HBAC, wow! Congratulations on a wonderful beginning to the lives of two beautiful children.
  • OMG! You have truly inspired me! I've had 2 sections and BELIEVE to still accomplish a VBAC in the future! I can totally relate to such an emotional wound that's been left. My children were more than worth it, but I'd LOVE to experience a "natural" birth. I've said (b4 seeing this video) that it'd be neat to have twins naturally, just to let GOD show off ;) Now I have something to be confident in! BTW, "Majesty" was just an added bonus! Thank you and GOD BLESS your family!
  • I am truly amazed by this testimony. This is very inspirational to me being that I have had a c-section with my first child 5 months ago, and would like to do a VBAC in the future. God is great and you have a wonderful family. Take care.
  • Great video! Very Inspirational! I, myself, am planning an HBAC in May. I'm only 10 weeks along so i have no idea yet what I'm carrying...or how many. But, my husband is a twin, so I have always considered the possibility. No matter, it will not alter my plans. Congratulations to you and your twins! You have a beautiful family!
  • Thank you for sharing your story and congratulations on your beautiful family.
    I'm currently pregnant with our second set of twin boys. Our first born by ceasarean so i'm doing research on my chances of having a VBAC with the next two. It was lovely to come across your story. X
  • What a beautiful story. You showed tremendous courage and faith by VBAC'ing at home. How wonderful it is that your midwives drove that distance for you. I'm a midwife myself and do hospital as well as home births and I strive to provide my clients with the ability to TRUST their bodies and "surrender" to their labour. Women have a right to give birth with dignity and power. May God continue to bless you and yours.
  • truly inspirational you have now given me hope
  • Thank you so much. I am a 3C mom who is approved for 2 more. If I can possibly get pregnant again I want to homebirth. Thank you for your inspiritation!
  • You go girl!
  • What an inspirational story of faith, trust, perseverance, and God's goodness. You are so blessed with such a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
  • Well done! you have a lovely family.
  • I cried though your entire video and sobbed at the sight of your scar. I also have two boys, both taken by section against my wishes. I am now pregnant again and planning a homebirth, thank you so much for sharing your story. It's given me amazing hope for my own healing birth.
  • Wow, how inspiring I am glad you got the birth you wanted eventually! I also have twin girls who are now 7 months old and i was so ill i was unable to birth them and had a c section, the experience you had delivering them is truly beautiful.
    God bless you and all of yr family
  • Ohhh they are so cute all your kids are adorible!
  • Beautiful!! God is good. And you are amazing!
    I am so happy for you that you were able to find midwives who believed in you and supported you. Because obviously you could do it! You were created to be able to birth your babies. It's finding people who believe that and support you that's so hard in our culture.
    Blessings!
  • You are an angel. i wish all women had your confidence and your belief in yourself. how totally fantastic. you're a hero to all laboring mothers and to your family. thanks for sharing this fantastic piece of your life.
  • I am 36 weeks pregnant of my second child. My first child was born 1 year 3 months ago by c-section and I am hope to have this second one naturally eventhough nobody supports me... I hope to have the strength you had and do what it takes for my dream of having a vaginal birth to come true... I will keep you in mind as a reminder that it is possible. Thanks for sharing
  • I just wanted to respond and tell you that I support you. May the Lord Jesus, who is able to do exceedingly above what we can ask or imagine, give you His peace and strength to birth your baby safely and vaginally. It IS possible. My prayers are with you.
  • You and I have children that came at the same times. My first daughter was born on 3/20/02 then just 3months after giving birth I became pregnant again, suprise. My second child is born on 4/2/03. Then after thinking all was done 2years later I became with our twins! 6/26/06 they arrived! Such a similar story. Although I hadn't learned much about homebirth I discovered after the twins and I am going to school to become a midwife now! Best of luck and congrats!
  • you are so beautiul~^^
  • Great video, thanks for sharing.
  • Wow that is just AMAZING!!! God was definatly listening to you after you delivered your second child! What a beautiful family you have!
  • What a beautiful keepsake video. Thank you for opening your personal story to the many women who are learning about their options. Your story is very inspiring. Beautiful beautiful children.
  • Made me cry - how fantastic you are! I didn't realise quite how much it has effected me having a C Section - my son is 9 weeks and I laboured for 2 days at home (desperate for a home birth) until finally going to hospital....so far from what I had planned. You have given me so much hope. Thank you!
  • ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations on your beautiful children!
  • Amazing, I am considering a VBAC and this gives me so much faith. Your children are so beautiful and you are so strong.
  • You are amazing!!!!
    Your children are beautiful.
    Your story is an example of never giving up in what you know is right!!
  • Oh wow! So lovely!!!!!! Your persistence and His grace brought you to such a wonderful place of personal strength and joy.
I had my first in the hospital, but didn't not enjoy it at all. I am praying and trusting in God and so excited. Any tips are appreciated!
  • Beautiful video, you and your babies are so pretty!!
  • Oh, I loved this video! Thanks for sharing! :) You have beautiful children!
  • thank you so much, this was a blessing to me. my 1st was born in the hospital, i too felt robbed. i am 23 wks & planning an unhindered home birth.. seeing this was VERY encouraging!! :D
  • Just watched the video with my oldest (who hadn't seen it yet) and have to say again what an inspiration you are. :-) Also, I'm glad you added the extra tags to get more search hits, because people need to see this!
  • Thank you for sharing! You made the decision that was best for your situation.  I just birthed identical twin girls at home in July and it was truly an amazing experience! Thank you for showing that twins can be birthed vaginally and at home.
  • Thankyou so much for sharing your story! My daughter's first birth, full of interventions, left me feeling like there had to be a better way. Now, I'm 22 weeks with our second child, and we're planning a home water birth. Videos like yours inspire me and help me overcome the fear leftover from my previous birth.
  • Amazing! What BIG twins! I'm so thankful that you got to experience such a wonderful event: it's not every day you hear about a twin HBA2C!
  • Congrats! I know what it feels like to have the perfect birth planned, and everything go haywire! Midwives are great, and I'm glad you were able to finally have children outside of the hospital!
  • What an awesome and amazing story Heather! You can totally see God's grace ribboned through it, and to have the midwives come at the end, wow! I can't believe your second little guys was 11 lbs.!  How did you end up feeling about the c-section with him? I love your story and song choice!
  • That was beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
  • SO, SO beautiful!! I cried throughout the whole thing. Thank you so much for sharing. My twins were born at home, too, but seeing other's births just reminds me of the miracle of it all.
  • beautiful video! Praise God!  I also look forward to having a vbac, with my midwife.
  • all i can say is YES!!!!!
    if you can do it i can do it!
  • Awesome video, and the babies are beautiful!! Makes me want to finish my video from my homebirth (also a twin HBAC)-- a twin HBAC that would NEVER have happened had I not met you and been so inspired. As always, you are amazing, and God is SOOOOOO good!
  • Fantastic, just fantastic. =) I'm expecting twins, and fighting for a homebirth. Your story has filled my heart and given me great hope. Congratulations on your beautiful children, they are blessed to have you.
  • Wow, I'm expecting right now, and I had to cry! Amazing story and aww, what cute kids you have! All the best!
  • Amazing story! I love it, way to go, natural home birth of twins, thats something to be so proud of!
  • AWESOME :)
  • Nice, that was quiet a journey to do this naturally, purpleheather79!
  • That is absolutely beautiful, Congratulations!
  • Your video made me cry with joy for you guys! I had a very disappointing 1st hospital experience too, and 1 week before she was 1 we were pregnant again; we planned a hb with our second and ended in a c/s... he will be 1 year old next week... maybe my story will end like yours some day.. I am so happy for you!!! Your video is beautiful.
  • god blees your family
  • For all women horrified to have a c-section:they are not the worst thing to happen. After pushing for two hours unmedicated, it was determined that my son's head would not fit and a c-section was the only safe alternative. I am SO grateful I had one! My son's head was wedged so far into my pelvis he would have had brain issues had I delivered naturally, AND his shoulders would have broken. My recovery was easy, and I plan on having a c-section the next time. You still end up with a healthy baby!
  • Thank you so much for sharing. I understand the pain of not being able to birth in the way you want. The experience does matter and can't be forgotten or covered up by having a wonderful baby in the arms. Good on you for presisting and for believing your body could birth your twins, at home, after all you had been through. You are a strong and amazing woman!
  • CONGRATULATIONS MAMA! and Papa! The LORD is GOOD!!! We just celebrated the home birth of our twins born Sept. 2006. I have a story too. But your story is AMAZING. Your children -GORGEOUS! Many more home births to you! Hope you'll record them and keep sharing. Stories like yours renew my faith as well.
    In Jesus~
  • Be thankful you can have children how ever they come into this world. Realize that you are blessed just with the presence of healthy children.
  • What an amazing story! Thanks so much for sharing this.  My son was born via c-section three years ago. I'm now four weeks pregnant and we're planning an HBAC. Your story is such an inspiration!
  • HUGE congratulations on your wonderful twin HBAC, and thank you for sharing your story. You are an amazing woman. (VBAC April 05)
  • Our son was delivered on April 28 by C-section due to my pregnancy-induced hypertension and the baby's heart rate dipping below normal.  The doctor told me that I could never have a VBAC because of the vertical incision made on my uterus. Your story encourages me to get a second opinion when we are ready to consider having no. 2. Two boys and two girls, how doubly perfect! May God bless you and your wonderful family.
  • Congratulations on getting your HBAC. You did an awesome job, your girls are gorgeous.
  • Very inspiring story thanks for sharing. I'm 37 wks prego with my 3rd. Was hoping for a natural birth since the previous 2 were c-section and didn't want to be cut open again (1st because doc didn't let nature take it's course, 2nd was way overdue). But sadly my doc says he won't do it and I'd be hard pressed to find any that would. Why does it have to be so difficult?!
  • Your family is beautiful and you are a hero!
    Carrie (hbac 09/07)
  • Praise God. What a beautiful story, and what a beautiful family. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope that others will be inspired by your triumph. God is good, all the time.
  • I'm very glay your girls were born healthy--they're beautiful. It does seem odd that you consented to an epidural but were upset by the episeotomy...I'd never let someone I'd never met deliver my kids, at home or anywhere. By the way, I've witness a mom and baby die from uterine rupture...that happened at home...
  • oh stop it old school.. do u enjoy ruining a beautiful birth by ur nasty comments? look up the statistics on uterine ruptures, they happen yes but they are very LOW.. then go and lo0k up the dangers of repeat csetions.... hey by the way did u know ur risk of a uterine rupture is HIGHER in a repeat section then a VBAC!
  • All I'm sayin' is that its undeniable that there is increased risk with (A) a VBAC, and (B)twins (C) a practitioner she didnt even know. If I had ANY added risk factors, I would deliver at a site that could handle an emergency. I would sacrifice my emotional desire and err on the side of caution...Her delivery was beautiful and her babies are beautiful...BTY I KNOW the statistics and I know they arent as important if you become one of them.
  • Babies are born, pizza's are delivered.
  • you realize most women who present at hospitals to deliver their babies get the doctor who is on call and not always the doctor theyve seen for prenatals, and so many women have their babies delivered by people they've never met. as far as a uterus rupturing under the stress of labor, it is much more common in an augmented hospital birth than in a homebirth situation. the stats and the links are all on the internet if you are further interested in educating yourself on this subject.
  • I'm so glad I saw this video! Thanks for posting. I'm planning a HWBAC with my second. This is inspiring!
