@wawrzyniec89 Drilling is like entry level in the offshore industry. Production is where it's at, and those jobs stay filled until the person dies lol. In the oilfield, Its not what you know, its who you know. You pretty much have to have some sort of contact inside a major production company. Hess, Shell, BP, Chevron. I started working in a gas plant in New iberia Louisiana, got to know some people, And showd them i was a hard worker. they hooked me up with my current job on Garden banks 250.

@Ozmit I believe the technology has been available from day one to contain, clean, and plug this hole. My contention is that the president and administration is purposely dragging their feet to make this disaster as big as possible so as to be able to legislate more power for the feds. Instead of trying to cap the outside of the well outlet or siphoning use a spike ended tap insert around 10 feet long in the form of a hole tap with a rubber gasket and flat head to seal the tap into the well outlet. The spike tip would guide the tap into the ideal threading start point 4 flutes in the tap design would allow the pressure of the flow to escape while threading the inside of the pipe. Once the tap is 80% screwed into place the flutes tapper off restricting the flow like valve.

The leak is about 19,000 barrels a day for 50 days. There are 42 gallons in a brl and 7.48 gallons in a cubic foot. multiply (19,000 * 42) * 50 days = 39,000,000 gallons. Now, 39,000,000 / 7.48 gls in a cubic ft = 5,334,225 square feet of oil spill that is one foot deep. Multiply by 2 for a 6 inch deep spill. That equals 10, 668,448. Now Make this area square by finding the sq. root. The sq root is 3,266 feet. ALL OF THE OIL LEAKED AMOUNTS TO 3/4 OF A SQ. MILE 6 INCH DEEP. I THINK WE'LL BE OK!

Hey, I read that the feds were trying to stop BP from shutting off the oil yesterday complaining that capping the well might cause too much pressure and make the leak worse. So, what's the alternative? What's the fed's plan? Oh, they don't have one. I think I like BP's plan better. :-)

@Ozmit I believe the technology has been available from day one to contain, clean, and plug this hole. My contention is that the president and administration is purposely dragging their feet to make this disaster as big as possible so as to be able to legislate more power for the feds. They told BP to stop plugging the well yesterday when it looked like they would be able to turn off the oil. Remember BO's Chief of Staff quote: "Never let a crisis go to waste..." They're milking this one...

Most people have no clue how important the seas and oceans are to our world. 90% of the CO2 that is in our atmosphere is absorbed by the oceans, and 50% of our oxygen is created by the plankton and algae. If 1 cup of oil can destroy 10,000 gallons of fresh water what does 50,000 barrels per day do to the ocean? We don't have to theorize, because this oil is washing up on shores 800 miles from the source and will have circulated around the world in two years!

Instead of trying to cap the outside of the well outlet or siphoning use a spike ended tap insert around 10 feet long in the form of a hole tap with a rubber gasket and flat head to seal the tap into the well outlet. The spike tip would guide the tap into the ideal threading start point 4 flutes in the tap design would allow the pressure of the flow to escape while threading the inside of the pipe. Once the tap is 80% screwed into place the flutes tapper off restricting the flow like valve.

The leak is about 19,000 barrels a day for 50 days. There are 42 gallons in a brl and 7.48 gallons in a cubic foot. multiply (19,000 * 42) * 50 days = 39,000,000 gallons. Now, 39,000,000 / 7.48 gls in a cubic ft = 5,334,225 square feet of oil spill that is one foot deep. Multiply by 2 for a 6 inch deep spill. That equals 10, 668,448. Now Make this area square by finding the sq. root. The sq root is 3,266 feet. ALL OF THE OIL LEAKED AMOUNTS TO 3/4 OF A SQ. MILE 6 INCH DEEP. I THINK WE'LL BE OK!

And alot of countries use oil, don't blame America for an explosion, less than 1% of America was there when it exploded, Russia build something, it would break down. What?
