cont... I think one of the things that bothered me the most was the bug bites, and not having any anti-itch cream. I don't know how kids who live in poverty do it. I definitely appreciated my A.C. a lot after this experience. Our food actually wasn't too bad. We ate raw carrots, sauteed onions and potatoes, and scrambled eggs. Of course we all had very tiny portions. None of us fought like they do in this video either. It was a great experience though! teaches you to appreciate what you have!
I got the prilege of doing this a few years ago! I was lucky enough to get Guatemala. We gave other people water a lot easier than these people though. Also, it was unbearably hot when we were there so we were required to give everyone drinking water, they just had to barter for cooking water. It really was an eye opening experience, I kinda wish we could've done the week long one though. My group also faced challenges not mentioned like wasps living in our cupboards, chiggers, and mosquitos
one night is nothing give them a week ,,,,,we as AMERICANS are in trouble because of how spoiled the young people are,,,,they have no clue on how to live without the crap they have like video games and lights,,,,also food from a store ,,,,if anything ever happens to the " system " they are doomed ,,,,i have showed my children how to fish , hunt and use a firearm ,,,,,,we also grow food and have cows,,,,,
I am glad our SAA-SDS 7th grade students are doing this .
