  • Fenny Compton went to this one long before i joined!

  • What the fuck are the fire brigade doing?....seeing who can piss the furtherest

  • That's what's wrong with lorries nowadays. If they are from the Continent they do not have to display hazardous signs. I wish the DVLA and Police would change the law because there is eventually going to be a collision which could result in many deaths. After all, when we drive in their countries we have to obey their rules. ie change our lights etcs. Thank goodness no-one was hurt.

  • GAS CYLINDERS ???

Had this truck been carrying hazarous materials of any discription on the road in the UK, it would be marked up with hazardous stickers on both sides and the front and rear of the trailer, It would also be displaying an orange plate on the rear.

The danger to the fire service is from the 120psi tyres exploding.

  • an hydraulics fluid...although there won't be much of it it is still a hazard

  • also....if it was from on the continent then it may not be displaying the correct warning marks as the driver may not be aware of UK road laws.

  • Thats a very good point, So many drivers are coming over to the UK not running to ADR laws, They dont display the plates because they dont have a ADR licence. But now they are being clamped down on, AT LAST!!

But i still think this is a british truck , It has yellow number plates.

Its not carrying haz materials, Its the tyres that the fire brigade are afraid of, They are like bombs when they explode

  • I think that we need tougher penalties on foreign people who break our road laws....if they know that they will be driving in the UK then they should make the effort to make themselves aware of the law....we have to when we go to places like france (1 hi-viz jacket per passenger in each vehicle etc...)

  • shit did that fag go out the window or not....!!! lol...

  • That's actually in Warwickshire :) Gaydon. Not Oxfordshire...

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I've amended the caption.

  • @tb4911 where's warwickshire?

  • 1:00

See that car that backs up?

It's the smartest fucking thing anyone did in this video

  • And a car hits the back of them doing 70mph+?

    Not a good idea.

NEVER stop on OR near the motorway (slip roads and exits)

Plus 'rubber neckers', thinking "ooh, smoke!" wont see a stopped car.. well the way british drivers are anyway, they dont need anymore help crashing.

The smartest thing was the truck being parked up and evacuated, dont bother trying to fight it yourself, you will just get heat exaustion and smoke inhallation.

  • Was the Driver of the Truck OK?

  • no, the way I see it.....the fire dept is moving so slow its like they are waiting for the fire to move into the trailer where the actual risk of an explosion is much more real. "who knows whats in the trailer" the tractor is the only thing burning at the point when the fd arrived on scene, thats when the fire should have been quickly and forcefully attacked. comment on that ! ya know im right

  • Its called 'assesing the scene'

We do it to stop ourselves rushing into a fire and injuring ourselves.

They WILL know whats in it, as it HAS to say what is in it n the side, and the driver MUST know what hes transporting, aswell as have the relevant docs.

The hauler might have been the MAIN thing on fire when they arrived, but the trailer was on its way, remember, the fire burns inside, before it moves outside, so the whole trailer could be gone, and you wouldnt know it.

  • The fire dept had to move back as there were gas cyliders on the lorry better to be safe than sorry dont you think,As i was in charge of the firet pump to arrive

  • wow here in NY when a car stalls blows a tire, traffic in the opposite direction slows down to 10 mph to take a look. in the vid traffic is moving like normal. great video man!

  • what the hell ???

are you scared ya gonna extenguish the fire ??

move in and put the fire out, ya act like ya scared of it........I have never seen fire fighting this poor before.

  • They pay us to get kind of close.lol

  • sorry if the fire fighters aren't being dangerous enough for you. Why risk getting too close after the truck had already been destroyed by the fire and alight for some time? The risk of explosion from such a vehicle is very high. Why don't you go and stand next to it and risk your life for no good reason?

Some people really do type the most stupid comments on here.

  • great footage thanks for sharing.

  • Bull Horns are shit, bring back the two tones. You could always hear two tones!

  • Thats a weird siren at 00.36!!! What the hell was that?

  • That particular sound is affectionately known as the Bull Horn. The appliance is the one seen shortly after arriving the 'wrong way' down the slip road (01:21) to the front of the lorry. The Bull Horn is now used by quite a lot of emergency vehicles since some motorists ignore the normal siren. It's supposed to be more directional, therefore the motorist should recognise the direction that it is coming from more easily.

  • Ok. Cheers. Whatever works hey?

  • Always wondered what had melted the tarmac at that point!

    Now I know.

  • its called if the fire stays long the whole thing could blow up.......

  • WTF, why do people slow down and stop to look at it?? it's a fire woopie doo. and whats with the guy who parks up in the middle of the white arrows and drives off again. people are dumb

  • PeteUK1985as

WTF, why do people slow down and stop to look at it?? it's a fire woopie doo.

Whoopie doo???? You're the one on youtube watching it!

  • i actually think he wanted to go off that junction and then thought it wasnt a good idea

  • I would start by surveying the trailer for placards(the plaques that tell what substances are in the trailer)

  • Norfolkscot, thanks for the advice on firefighting.. its lucky you said because next time i go to a lorry fire i'll know how to put it out now. Its not wise to get too close if it can be avoided just incase there is anything in the lorry that could have exploded!!

  • Next time those guys have a fire drill somebody should show them where the fuel tank is. They were completely on the srong side and too far away. Uf that fuel tank had exploded vehicles on the motoway would immediately be involved. Bad practice all round by the emergeny services.

  • Did you ever see a fuel tank or a car explode in real world? That happens only in movies.

I guess they extinguish the fire from distance because they are not sure whether there are hazardous substances in the trailer. I dont know if you are a fireman but I can tell you, we would likely handle this situation equally.

  • uphill and upwind boys.

  • take the rest of the day off lol

  • on 4.41 an identical truck drove by... wunder what he was thinking lol..

  • Isn't Junction 12 of the M40 in Warwickshire?

It's funny to see the drivers passing the lorry even though it was well dangerous!

  • Judging by the number of spectators I think it had already been estabished that the driverwas out of the vehicle. I was quite surprised how longit took the police to close the motorway, I think I had stopped filming by then! then we all got moved on by the police.

  • I like how the drivers are stupid enough to drive past the lorry. It could've exploded or sumat.

Noone stopped to see if anyone needed help either? :P

    We obviously rawk. o_O

  • I guess they don't use SCBA over there. Too far away from the cab of the truck to be effective.
