I saw this when I saw ''The Muppets'' and it didn't freeze!

One time we were at Regal Cinemas and in the middle of the movie it went blank and then the movie shut off. Then, Shrek came on the screen and said that there were technical difficulties and while we are waiting to stay seated, then some videos of him and donkey came up and they were really boring. And also, when I was at the movies today, about halfway through the silent your cell phone video, it froze and went black for about a minute.

I got the 3D version seeing Conan the Barbarian Friday and it froze for what seemed like five minutes. An employee was sent in to the screening room and everything.She said it takes 7-10 minutes for the digital projector to warm up. It unfroze but First Look 3D was out of focus, it was jittery as if someone was shaking the camera and it was giving me a headache with the 3D glasses on. Eventually the screen went black, and when it turned back on it was fixed for the rest of the show.

When I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D, this came up and it froze for about 1 minute and 30 seconds! Then the screen went black for 40-50 seconds and THEN we get to the FirstLook 3D. It was a rainy day that day so I don't know it was because of that but that was pretty much it.

This creeps me out, but I am used to this. They also have another version that is the exact same as this one except they add in some other words. It is shown during 3D movies and they play it when they are doing "Regal First Look 3D."

The reason this freezes is because the manager running the booth that day is slacking, the movie should be running before it freezes. The "que" to start the movie is when the two 35mm projector icons appear at the top corners of the screen. Whenever I work I start the the movie before this screen even shows as it takes about 7-10 seconds for the changeover to lift, showing the first trailer greenband about the time the "que" is shown.

Well, when I went today, they changed the Happy the Hedgehog thing into a live action show about a man. But I only saw this for four seconds when I saw the movie Coraline. Now, they have signs that say:

"It only takes one call to ruin a movie.

No texting or phone calls in this theater."

I like this.

@Jigglypufflove33 Granted I'm 3 years late in replying, the screen freezes because it is roughly a 58 second clip, when the movie reels in the top left and right corners appear are when the projectionist is supposed to start the movie. If they aren't present to start the movie on time then the clip ends and continues to project the last image until the projector is started, granted regal has a habit of having their time clocks a little off.
